After 111 points and a combined over 900 yards of offense the Coffee County Red Raiders lost a heartbreaking football game to Franklin County on Friday night in Winchester.
Freshman Alontae Taylor scored a school record 6 touchdowns (runs of 82, 10, 6, 4, 5 and 5 yards) and rushed for 256 yards for the Raiders in the 56-55 triple overtime loss. Taylor has nearly 900 yards rushing on the season with 3 games to go.
Cody Howes and Mill Harner scored the other TD’s for the Raiders.
After Coffee County scored to make it 55-48 in the third OT the Rebels scored and went for a 2-point conversion and converted to pick up the District 8-AAA win.
Gavin Husted played great on defense as he picked off 2 Franklin County passes.
Taylor was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game for his record breaking performance.

The 2-5 Raiders will host the 2-6 Lincoln County Falcons on Friday night. This is the annual “Pink Out” game. Fundraising will be done throughout the night for breast cancer awareness. The team will be wearing pink jerseys to bring more awareness and the jerseys will be auctioned off.
