The Coffee County Middle School Volleyball team traveled to Hermitage on Saturday to compete in the 15 team, Donelson Christian Academy Tournament. The Lady Raiders won 3 straight matches before falling in the semifinals to Brentwood Academy to finish in 4th place. In Pool play, the Lady Raiders got straight set victories over DCA (25-15 & 25-22) and Hendersonville Christian (25-10 & 25-13) on Saturday morning. In the first round of the single elimination tournament, Coffee County got a hard fought, straight set win over Davidson Academy (25-16 & 25-21) before falling to perennial power Brentwood Academy (13-25 & 14-25). Coffee Middle was led in aces by Amanda Mukai and Jacey Vaughn who each had 8. Kierstyn Prater led the Raiders in kills with 3 and assists with 5. The Lady Raiders record stands at 4 and 2 after a busy first week of the season. The Lady Raiders will return home on Tuesday night as they will host Eagleville in a 5 PM match at the new Coffee County Middle School gym.
