CHS Wrestlers Get Strong Individual Performances at Franklin County on Thursday

The Coffee County wrestling team was in action on Thursday night in Winchester taking on Franklin County and Siegel in a three-way duals match.  The small Coffee County squad was unable to gain a team win but did have some strong individual performances.

Against Siegel, the Raider grapplers fell 57 to 9 in the team score.  Joel Lawrence(at 170) won a 12 to 7 decision in his match.  Rein Bozich(145) got a pinfall win in the 2nd round of his match.

Against Franklin County, the Raiders were outscored 42 to 27.  Franklin County only scored 12 team points on the mat as they gained 30 of their points due to forfeit wins when the Raiders did not have wrestlers for 5 of the weight classes.  Coffee County got pinfall wins from Joseph White(138), Noah O’Shields(126), Joel Lawrence(182) and Owen Teague(152).  Rein Bozich won an exciting 15 to 12 decision fighting at 145.

The wrestling team will travel to Riverdale on Tuesday night for a three-way duals match with the Warriors and Shelbyville.  First match gets underway at 6 PM.
