CHS Wrestlers Fall in Home Opener

The Coffee County Central High School wrestling team hosted their first match of the year on Tuesday night at their home mat at the Coffee County Raider Academy. The Red Raiders welcomed Cookeville and Lawrence County to “The Dojo” for a three-way region duals match. The Red Raiders dropped both team decisions on the night. Coffee County fell to Lawrence County 64 to 10 and dropped their match with Cookeville 54 to 15

Against Lawrence County, Owen Teague(at 152 pounds) won a major decision(12 to 3) over his opponent to capture 4 points. Rein Bozich(145) earned 6 points for the Raiders with a forfeit win.

Against Cookeville, Coffee County got 6 point pinfall wins from Joel Lawrence(170) and Owen Teague(152). Rein Bozich(145) won a 6 to 3 decision over his opponent to earn 3 team points.

The Raider wrestlers are back on the road on Thursday night when they travel to Winchester to take on Franklin County and Siegel in a three way duals match. First match will get underway at 6 PM.
