In a battle of District 8AAA volleyball favorites, the CHS Lady Raider volleyball team dropped a 4 set match to Lincoln County on Thursday. The loss was the first district loss of the year for the Lady Raiders. After taking the first set 25 to 16, the Lady Falcons stormed back to claim the next 3 sets 20, 18 and 21. Coffee County had some improvement in the passing game as Bailey Morgan and Maddie Taylor each had 12 assists. Defensively, Makayla Morgan had 12 digs while Peyton Nicoll added 10. Aerial Willaims led the Lady Raiders in blocks with 2. Nicoll and Diana Davis led Coffee County in kills with 8 while Williams, Baylee Nester and Kaylee Skipper each had 4 kills. At the service line, the Lady Raiders had 10 aces and 10 service errors. Tyana Fenton led Coffee County in aces with 3. The Lady Raiders will hit the road again on Tuesday as they travel to Columbia to take on the Lady Lions in another important district match. First serve is set for 6 PM.
