The Coffee County Central High School soccer team got a hat trick from Caitlyn Moore to race past Lawrence County 6 to 0 on Tuesday night. In a match where Coffee County controlled the time of possession, the Lady Raiders limited the Lady Cats offensive chances all night long. Senior keeper Holli Smithson was only required to make 1 save on the night for the Lady Raiders to record the shutout.
Moore scored her first goal in the 5th minute assisted by Jenna Garretson. Samantha Ellison added an unassisted goal in the 12th minute before Moore got her 2nd goal on another assist from Garretson in the 27th minute. The Lady Raiders got the benefit of a Lawrence County own goal in the 28th minute off a corner kick to take a 4 to 0 lead into the half.
In the 2nd half, Moore scored her 3rd goal on a feed from Eliza Masters in the 55th minute. Allie Amado pushed a rebound past the Lawrence County keeper in the 57th minute to close out the scoring and give the Raiders the big district win. The win lifts Coffee County to 7 and 2 on the year and 2 and 0 in district play. The Raiders will be back at home on Thursday night when they welcome district foe Shelbyville. Kickoff is at 7 PM.
