The Coffee County Red Raiders hit the road on Thursday for a boys only match-up with the Smyrna Bulldogs at Smyrna High. Coffee County outscored the Bulldogs 20 to 7 in the 2nd quarter to power them to a 50 to 42 victory.
Wyatt Day was the leading scorer for the Raiders as he finished with 13 points. Steven Sullivan and Grant Sadler each chipped in 11 points as both had strong 4th quarters to help seal the win. Sadler’s steal on an outlet pass after Smyrna had cut the lead to 4 points likely saved the game for the Raiders. For his big 4th quarter, Sadler was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the Game. The win moves Coffee County’s record to 2 and 0 on the season.
The Raiders and Lady Raiders travel to Huntland on Tuesday night for a return matchup with the Hornets. The girls’ game tips off at 6. Thunder Radio’s coverage will kick off at 5:50 with the Powers Storage/Char-El Apartments Pregame Show
