The CHS Wrestling team traveled to Murfreesboro on Monday to take on Siegel and Franklin County in a pair of dual matches at the Siegel High School gym.  Against the host Stars, the Red Raiders got off to a rocky start losing their 1st four matches by pin fall and their 5th by a decision.  Owen Teague(wrestling at 132) got a win in the 6th match followed by a David Tate(138) pin in 65 seconds to give the red and black some momentum but the deeper Siegel team prevailed by a score of 61 to 18. Matthew DeLong(160) had the other pin for Coffee County.

Trailing 30 to 21 in the match against Franklin County, the Raiders closed out with 4 straight wins to earn the 45 to 30 win.  Austin Payne(182) got the late rally started as he pinned his opponent in 39 seconds to start the winning charge for Coffee County.  Joshua Tobitt(195) followed that up with a 48 second pin and Dustin Seals sealed the win with a pin in 75 seconds.  Brandon Baumstein(113), Joel Singleton(126), Jose Ruiz(145) and Trenton Garner(220) each got forfeit wins for Coffee County.  Owen Teague(132) got a 4 to 3 decision in his match to round out the scoring for the Raiders.

The Raiders will now break for the holidays as their next match will take place on January 3rd.  The Raiders travel to Stewarts Creek for the Redhawk Rampage.  Matches arescheduled to begin at 8 AM.
