CHS Basketball Teams Improve to 3 and 0 After Impressive Wins at Huntland

A pair of hungry Coffee County basketball teams pulled out impressive wins at Huntland on Monday night in non-district basketball action. The Lady Raiders led for almost 29 minutes in a 63 to 51 win. The Red Raiders had a 44 point 2nd half to beat the Hornets 77 to 64.
The Lady Raiders fell behind 4 to 0 before going on a 16 to 5 run to capture a 1st quarter lead they would not relinquish. Coffee County built an 8 point halftime lead and the Lady Hornets could get no closer than 6 points the rest of the way in the dominating win. Coffee County was led in scoring by Aerial Williams and Holli Smithson who each finished with 12 points. Alliyah Williams finished with 10 points while Abby Morgan and Bailey Morgan each finished with 8 points. Holli Smithson was named the Crazy Daisies player of the game.

A 22 to 7 run in the last 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter by the Red Raiders erased their first half struggles and lifted the Red Raiders to a convincing win. Coffee County scored 30 points in the 3rd quarter to erase a 2 point halftime deficit and give Coffee County a 15 point lead going into the 4th quarter. In the final frame, Huntland could never get within 9 points of Coffee County as the Raiders improve to 3 and 0 on the year. Coffee County had 5 players in double figures led by Grant Sadler who finished with 18 points to be named the Crazy Daisies player of the game. Tyrese McGee added 15 points, Stephen Sullivan had 14 while Garrett Eldridge and Darius Rozier each finished with 10.
