Needing a fast start against a dangerous Columbia team, Coffee County got exactly that on Friday night.  The hot shooting Lady Raiders built a 10 point lead in the first 4 minutes and coasted home to a 56 to 42 win over the Lady Lions.  Coffee County built the lead to 19 points entering the 4th quarter before a Lion rally cut the deficit 7 with just under 3 minutes to play, but Coffee County hit their free throws down the stretch to improve to 11 and 8 on the year and 2 and 3 in district play.  Holli Smithson and Bailey Morgan each had 11 points to lead the Lady Raiders in scoring.  Cameron Davis finished with 10 points.  Bailey Morgan was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.

The Red Raiders jumped out to a 5 to 0 lead in the first minute of the boys contest before Columbia went on a 17 to 0 run outscoring Coffee County 25 to 10 in the final 7 minutes of the 1st quarter.  The physical Lions turned away several Coffee County rallies as the Red Raiders could get no closer than 12 points.  Coffee County was led in scoring by Peyton Talley who scored 16 points, Addison Carter and Grant Sadler each added 8 points as Sadler was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.  Coffee County travels to Tullahoma on Tuesday to take on the Wildcats.  The game will begin at 6 PM with the Lawrence Family Motors pregame show beginning at 5:50 on Thunder Radio.
