A nine run explosion in the 4th inning vaulted the Coffee County Middle School softball team to a 15 to 2 over Harris on Tuesday night in Shelbyville. Leading 6 to 1 to enter the frame, the Lady Raiders used 2 extra base hits and 2 Harris errors to ground the Eagles for the second night in a row due to the mercy rule. Six different Lady Raiders had 2 hits on the night including Amanda Mukai who had a triple, and Jayden Scheller and Grace Pippenger who each stroked doubles. The win improves Coffee County to 4 and 1 on the season as they prepare to travel to Cowan on Thursday for a doubleheader with South Franklin. The first game is a make-up of the March 3rd game which was rained out in Manchester.
