Thursday was another solid day for Coffee County pitcher Brianna Jones as she threw a no-hitter in the Lady Raiders 8-0 victory over Zion-Benton, Illinois in tournament action in Murfreesboro.
No Zee-Bee batter was able to locate Jones’ pitches during the game. Jones threw a no-hitter, striking out 10 batters and walking none while recording her 2nd no-hitter of the year.
Seven runs in the 2nd inning helped the Coffee County Lady Raiders blow out Zion-Benton.
Tori Bell had two singles and double and she had an RBI.
Bell and Jones were named Co-Gateway Tire and Service Center players of the game.
The 6-0 Lady Raiders were set to play Columbia Academy Thursday night but that game was called off due to weather. Coffee County is scheduled to play Friday and Saturday and noon and 4pm both days at McKnight fields in Murfreesboro.
