Major Computer Problems during Election Returns – UPDATED
A long day for candidates turned into an even longer night when computer issues delayed the returns on Thursday. Early voting numbers were released before 7:30pm and the next set of returns by 8:30pm. A little while later, Coffee County Election Commission personnel announced that there was an issue with the Ada Wright Center box in Manchester. After a long period of time, totals were released, but WMSR News discovered the totals did not add up correctly after being perfect until that point. Drug Bust occurs inside Walmart in Tullahoma
A Shelbyville man was arrested Aug. 1 on multiple drug charges and is facing federal charges. Jonathan Dewayne Johnson, 30, of Butler Street Shelbyville was charged by Tullahoma Police Investigator Johnny Gore with manufacture and delivery of schedule I, II, IV and VI as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also wanted by U.S. Marshal’s for parole violation. Report says Logan’s to File Bankruptcy
According to Bloomberg News, Logan’s Roadhouse Inc., a Nashville, Tennessee-based steakhouse chain with hundreds of locations, is preparing to file for bankruptcy, according to people familiar with the situation. Tennessee Renters Encouraged to Know Their Rights
Across Tennessee, rental trucks and boxes are in short supply as thousands of students move into apartments near one of the state’s public or private universities. Since they are often first-time renters, the state’s Department of Commerce and Insurance wants to make sure renters know their rights before signing a lease and moving in. Two men facing charges in Coffee Co. after one allegedly steals vehicle in Bedford Co.
A Shelbyville man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Bedford County and driving into Coffee County. 40 year old Edward Worthy of South Cannon Blvd in Shelbyville was spotted on the Old Tullahoma Highway near Belmont Road by Deputy Joey Ricco headed toward Manchester. The officer turned around and attempted to stop the driver but he refused to do so. He then turned and returned to Tullahoma at which time, according to the arrest warrant, Tullahoma Officer Rocky Ruehling and other officers took up the pursuit. Coffee County Sheriff’s Department asking for the Public’s Help
The Coffee County Sheriff’s department is investigating a theft that occurred on Sunday (July 31). The victim reported that someone had stolen an 18 foot flatbed trailer with three lawn mowers that were located on the trailer. The mowers were; Two John Deere Tractor mowers (42″ and 38″ cut) and a 50″ cut John Deere Zero turn mower. The theft took place on Carolyn Court in Hillsboro and similar thefts have also taken place in McMinnville. Man Injured after falling at Old Stone Fort State Park
A man visiting from out town was flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga Tuesday after falling while hiking at Old Stone Fort State Park in Manchester. According to investigators Michael McKenzie and his wife were hiking above the dam and he slipped and fell some 15 feet.
