Pharmacist Arrested in Moore County
An investigation by Special Agents with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Moore County pharmacist on a charge of theft. TBI Special Agents and Agents with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General, along with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, began investigating Robert Gray in January 2015. Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center applies for Grant
The Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center (MCCCC) is looking to get into the outside venue business. The center is applying for a $50,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. County officials have agreed to match 30 percent of the grant money – about $15,000 – which will bring the total amount to $65,000. Executive Director Rebecca French said the center will use the money for a concrete pad and a building beside the parking lot of the conference center. Holiday Travel Information
Thanksgiving travelers will not be delayed by construction on Tennessee roads during this busy travel holiday. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways in anticipation of higher traffic volumes across the state. All construction-related lane closures will be stopped beginning at noon Wednesday through 6am next Monday, the 28th. TDOT officials expect over a million travelers in Tennessee to drive to their holiday destinations this year. Al White Motors and WMSR (Thunder Radio) are teaming up to honor those who serve that thin blue line, our local law enforcement. Tractor Stolen–Public’s Help Needed
On November 14, 2016 Coffee County Deputy Eva Villegas responded to a call on Fredonia Road. The owner of the property said he noticed his John Deere tractor valued at $11,000 and bush hog missing. He said there were some visible tracks on the road heading toward Gnat Hill Rd. A previous burglary was reported at the same address that occurred a few days earlier. In that report, the owner advised he resides out of town and came to his home in the Fredonia area to check on his property. He found the back door of the house open....

Female Attempts to Rob McMinnville Waffle House
McMinnville Police have arrested a woman accused of trying to rob the McMinnville Waffle House on Sunday. The suspect, identified as Queen McElrath was arrested at a residence in Morrison Sunday night. Police say the suspect entered the restaurant, sat at a booth and ordered a drink. When the waitress came back, the suspect showed the barrel of a gun and ordered the waitress to get the money out of the cash register. More than 4 Million Workers to become Eligible for Overtime Pay beginning Dec 1
More than 4 million U.S. workers will become newly eligible for overtime pay thanks to a Federal rule that goes into effect on Dec. 1. The new Fair Labor Standards Act will be a boost to some worker’s wallets while others will keep the same pay but work fewer hours. The new rule would make time-and-a-half mandatory for anyone earning less than $47,476 a year. It would more than double the salary threshold under which employers must pay overtime to their white collar workers.
