Three People Arrested after missing Kentucky rental car found traveling on I-24 in Coffee County

On Tuesday three subjects were in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 24 westbound near the 116-mile marker by Tennessee Highway Patrolman Donnie Clark. Catina Nykiesha Galbreath age 19 of Lithia Springs GA, Rani Josephine Andrews 18 of Douglasville GA were passengers and the driver was Demetrius Edward Lamons age 22 of Marietta, GA. The trio were traveling in a 2017 Nissan Altima that was reported stolen out of Kentucky where a fake credit card was allegedly used to rent the vehicle. Oak Ridge Man Facing Multiple Charges in Coffee County

On Tuesday Dylan James Dotson age 21 of Oak Ridge, TN was the operator of a vehicle stopped for an equipment violation. Upon making contact with the man, Coffee County Deputy Antonio Frost observed in plain view a small bag of green leafy substance believed to be marijuana on the floor board of the driver’s side. Frost also alleges in the arrest warrant that he observed a box of ammunition. The deputy says he asked if the Dotson had anything else in the vehicle and the man apparently said no. A Warren County teenager was shot and killed early Tuesday during an apparent altercation with a person in Cannon County. Local authorities say 17 year old Scott Sullivan died after being shot by a man who had reportedly tried to intervene in an altercation between Sullivan and a homeowner on Spurlock Road, just over the county line. Officials with the Shelbyville Police Department are asking for the public’s help in finding a man that led officers on a high speed chase. The suspect, Josh N. Brown of Shelbyville, led officers on pursuit on Belmont Avenue and eventually fled on foot off 130W just south of Riverbend Country Club. Officers spent hours searching a heavily wooded area, but the search was called off. About 40 people each hour have a cardiac arrest while not in a hospital, and just over nine out of 10 do not survive, according to American Heart Association statistics. Tennessee motorists can try their hand at coming up with a winning safety message for the overhead message signs on the state interstate highways. The state Department of Transportation says it’s holding a contest again this year for a catchy safety message. The agency is taking entries for the 2017 Dynamic Message Sign Contest in five categories: seat belt usage, impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding and aggressive driving. Counterfeit Money Passed at Two Tullahoma Businesses

Tullahoma Police are investigating the passing of counterfeit money at the Goodwill store located on North Jackson Street on Jan. 27. An employee of the store reported to Officer Jacob Smith that a woman entered the store and paid for a purchase with a $100 bill. The bill was checked with a counterfeit marking pen and passed, however when the money was presented to Ascend Credit Union they learned that the bill was counterfeit.
