The Sportsmen and Businessmen Charitable Organization has donated to both Coffee County Schools Family Resource Center and Manchester City Schools Family Resource Center. “It is a mission of SBCO’s to support programs that directly assist the children in our community. We are proud to contribute to Coffee County Schools’ Family Resource Center’s ‘Coffee County Student Expo’ program and Manchester City Schools’ Family Resource Center’s ‘WeCare’ program. On Friday April 7th, 2017 deputies with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office were investigating a potential burglary. While investigating the burglary, they made contact with a Michael Blackmon and Anthony Hampton. While speaking with Blackmon and Hampton, deputies saw signs of potential drug use and possession. Upon following up and acting on what they saw, a total of 55 grams of Meth/ICE was recovered from a vehicle being driven and occupied by Blackmon and Hampton. A Tennessee House panel has narrowly voted down a push to offer in-state tuition rates to public college students whose parents brought them to the country illegally, drawing tears from some students in the room.
