Bluegrass Underground Moving to Grundy County

After nine years in Cumberland Caverns, Bluegrass Underground will be moving to a new location. Beginning in 2018 Bluegrass Underground will present its concerts at The Caverns, located within the base of Monteagle Mountain near Pelham. Organizers say the venue will hold larger audiences and will be more accessible to people with physical disabilities. It is also closer to Interstate 24. Tennessee’s unemployment for the month of July again made history with a 3.4 percent rate. This exceeds the previous month’s revised rate of 3.6 percent, which was the all-time low. Coffee County Schools have announced that they are excited about the upcoming activities that are planned for Monday’s Solar Eclipse at each school. Parents/Guardians have some options regarding how they wish for their child to participate. Parents may choose to opt-in which means the student will participate in viewing the eclipse outside, to opt-in please sign and return the provided permission slip. Katie Lynn Hillis, 28, of Maple Springs Road Manchester who is now a former 911 dispatcher was arrested last Friday by Manchester Police on charges of false reporting and manufacturing/delivery/sale of a controlled substance. Her arrest came after Manchester Police Investigator Jonathan Anthony received information that Hillis was selling prescription pills. On July 6 Anthony and Investigator Jackie Matheny sent an individual into Hillis’ apartment and that person allegedly purchased several Adderall pills and Hydrocodone pills from her. THP makes POT Bust in Manchester

On Wednesday, (August 16th, 2017) Tennessee Highway Patrolman Donnie Clark stopped a vehicle on Interstate 24 west-bound near the 114 mile-marker in Manchester for a traffic violation. The Trooper spoke with the driver and allegedly detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Driver, Ben Patrick Mullavey age 57 of Cedar Town GA allegedly admitted that he had approximately 5 lbs of a green leafy like substance believed to be marijuana inside of the vehicle.
