Update on Teenager who Died in Jet Ski Accident–Correction
An accident involving a jet ski has claimed the life of a Jackson, TN teenager. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency received the call on Tims Ford Lake a little after noon on Thursday. TWRA officers responding to the call reported that, according to witnesses, 13 year old, Ryder Lewis was riding in a tube being towed by family members on a jet ski when the tube struck a dock. Update on Body Found in Tullahoma
The Tullahoma Police Department (TPD) has been in contact with the State Medical Examiner regarding the body found near the Rock Creek Greenway on June 20, 2018. The Medical Examiner has given a preliminary report indicating there was no sign of trauma to the body. The department is awaiting the toxicology report in the next few weeks before a final cause of death can be determined. Based on the Medical Examiners initial report and the investigation by authorities, officials have not found any indication of criminal involvement. Hit and Run Accident Leads to Manchester Man’s Arrest
On Tuesday (June 26, 2018) Jerry Lane Messick age 37 of Manchester was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident on Interstate 24 at the 112 eastbound mile marker. Messick was later found at Trucker’s Inn on Hillsboro Blvd in Manchester with the vehicle that was involved in the accident. Livestock Killed in Bedford County–Two Men Arrested
On Wednesday, while investigating reports of livestock being killed in the Bedford County, detectives with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office were able to develop information of some potential suspects that were responsible for the killing of the animals. As a result of their work and investigation, they were able to develop and obtain evidence that led to the arrest of 19 year-old Ethan Everette Barrett. Barrett was charged with 3 counts of Vandalism and 3 counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty and has a $30,000 bond. TDOT Suspending All Construction-Related Lane Closures on Interstates and State Routes
Road construction won’t slow motorists across Tennessee over the July 4th holiday. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29th through 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5th to provide maximum roadway capacity for holiday travelers. Over 831,000 motorists are expected to travel Tennessee’s interstates and state routes this July 4th holiday, according to TDOT Commissioner John Schroer. New Licensing Policy begins July 1
The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced the rollout for a new licensing policy in hopes of making identifying people under the age of 21 easier. Tennessee will issue vertical licenses for all persons under the age of 21 starting Monday, July 2. After turning 21, any licensee may obtain a horizontal printed license or ID.
