A Tennessee law could save your child’s life in an emergency situation while they’re at school. AEDs are now required inside every high school statewide. The law went into effect on Sunday. The AED, or automated external defibrillator, delivers an electric shock to your chest. It can steady an irregular heartbeat or restart a heart if someone goes into sudden cardiac arrest. Attention Coffee County residents: Phone calls are being made to people in our area from a group called Police Officers Support Alliance and they are asking for donations to help support police officers. 9 Year-Old Dies after Tree Falls on Campsite
Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation officials have confirmed that a 9-year-old girl from Tracy City has passed away after a tree fell on her at Foster Falls while she was camping. Tools Stolen in Franklin County
On June 25, 2018 a theft report was filed with the Winchester Police Department. Between the dates of June 15, 2018 and June 25, 2018, an estimated $5,500 in tools were stolen from an address on Industrial Drive. The tools had “J.L” or “James Lymn” wrote in permanent marker on the tools. The tools stolen were Dewalt, Ryobi, and Milwaukee cordless power tools. New Opioid Bill is now Law
Governor Bill Haslam and other state lawmakers held a bill signing ceremony in Maryville as one of the nation’s strictest opioid policies became law. TN Together legislation comes in the form of two bills. One aims at reducing the number of opioids prescribed while the other targets addiction rehabilitation in prisons. The first bill limits the duration and dosage of opioid prescriptions for new patients. Initial opioid prescriptions will be limited to a 3-day supply.
