Two Suspects Sought for Multiple Car Burglaries
Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are working to identify two car burglary suspects wanted in five counties, including Coffee County. The two suspects were caught on video at several Kroger stores after using stolen credit cards taken during the burglaries. The suspects are breaking into locked and unlocked vehicles during daytime hours in public parking lots at grocery stores and rec centers. They steal purses and use stolen credit cards to buy hundreds of dollars in gift cards at various Kroger stores in Williamson, Wilson, Maury and Bedford Counties and in Tullahoma. Manchester School System to begin search for New Director of Schools
The Manchester Board of Education will be meeting on Monday afternoon at 5pm in the administration building. The board will be voting to start the search for a new director of schools. Current director Lee Wilkerson’s contract will be end at the completion of this year’s school term. Wilkerson, who was hired in June of 2015 came from the Murfreesboro City School system where he was principal at Cason Lane Academy. New Notification Systems to Help Inform Coffee Countians about Local Emergencies, Hazards and Other Threats
Telephone-based mass notifications systems are used by thousands of public safety agencies across the US to warn citizens about local emergencies, hazards and other threats. Now Coffee County announces that they have selected Hyper-Reach to help bring this same life-saving capability to the area. Car Crashes into Outbuilding near Tullahoma
A crash on Monday night injured the female driver of the only vehicle involved. The woman was injured after her vehicle went off the road and hit an outbuilding at a residence in the 2000 block of Turkey Creek Drive near Tullahoma on Monday night. According to reports, the vehicle was traveling on Linda Lane going through the intersection and off Turkey Creek Drive, hitting the building behind a home. SNAP Benefits to Continue
At the direction of President Donald J. Trump, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced on Wednesday a plan to ensure that low-income families in Coffee County and throughout the country have access to the nutrition they need. The plan provides full benefits for participants in USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for the month of February. When USDA’s funding expired on December 21, 2018, SNAP benefits for January were fully funded. States have already received that money and have been distributing it to participants.
