Rutherford Co. man allegedly shoots neighbor after argument

A Rutherford County man is in trouble after allegedly shooting his neighbor after the two got into an argument.  The Daily News Journal reports that Larry Dale Pitts, age 57, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder. The report states that Pitt threatened to kill his neighbor and his family after the two to into an argument on Tuesday, July 16th. Rec Center has openings for after school program

The Manchester Recreation Center is offering an after school program and signups are underway. This is Monday through Friday, 3-6 p.m. and the rec center will offer pickup from city  schools. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in Coffee County today (July 19) from noon until 7 p.m. Heat Index is expected to be near 100 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service.  The National Weather Service recommends rescheduling outside time and keeping any strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Police trying to identify remains found in Beech Grove; one in custody

Human remains have been discovered in the Beech Grove area of Coffee County.   According to Coffee County District Attorney General Craig Northcott, human skeletal remains were discovered in Beech Grove off of Cole Ridge Rd. at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 and a joint investigation is underway involving the Manchester Police Department and the TBI. Connie Ray, 61, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with false reporting, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact.
