Coffee County library parking lots to be paved
Those who visit the Coffee County Manchester Public Library and the Lannom Memorial Library in Tullahoma will soon notice improved parking, as the Coffee County’s budget and finance committee approved funding to pave the parking lot. Rogers Group entered the low bid for the project at $55,000 with Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival covering approximately $32,000 of that project, according to the Manchester Times. Law enforcement investigating possible murder-suicide in Estill Springs
The TBI, Franklin Co. Sheriff’s Department, and the Estill Springs Police Department are investigating two deaths in Estill Springs Tuesday night. According to the TBI, dead are Kimberly Dawn Oakes, 48, of Estill Springs, and Adam Alcocer, 50, of Tullahoma. Both were found deceased In Oakes’ home. Embattled former Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada is now facing a probe into his campaign finances. State records indicate that Casada spent nearly $8,000 in taxpayer money for 10 flights on a state airplane over a three month period, including April 26th when he went to Chattanooga to speak at a fundraiser for the Republican Party there. Unity Medical Center converts to non-profit hospital status
Unity Medical Center filed final paperwork with the Tennessee Secretary of State to convert from a for profit to a non-profit hospital. The Internal Revenue Service approved the hospital’s request last December. Manchester Police Dept. warns of new phone scam in area
Manchester Police Department officials have a telephone scam to tell you about. According to MPD, multiple residents in the area have reported receiving calls that advise the recipient that their social security number has been used fraudulently. The intended victim is then advised that their current social security number is being suspended, until a new one can be made available.
