There will be no charges filed by Coffee County District Attorney General Craig Northcott in the death of Central High School student Channing Smith.  Northcott released a statement with the decision Tuesday afternoon. Starting on Sunday, November 24, the Rutledge Falls Bridge located on Rutledge Falls Drive will be closed for approximately four months. Murfreesboro resident arrested for rape of child

A 36 year old man who calls Murfreesboro home has been arrested by the Special Victims Unit. Jose M. Secaida was captured late last month and charged with two counts of “Rape of a Child.” In both charges, the victim was reported to be under the age of 13. Two arrested after running from THP in Grundy County

Michael McMurphyClyde Doyle Hamby Grundy County Sheriff’s deputies and THP captured two suspects after they fled from a traffic stop on Interstate-24 westbound around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.  The driver, Clyde Doyle Hamby (28) crashed on Hwy 50 near Bethel Church. He and Michael McMurphy (37) fled on foot. Tracking dogs from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and a THP helicopter searched the area for several hours. A watchful citizen spotted Hamby around 10:30am near The Caverns in Payne’s Cove and called 911. He was taken into custody without incident.
