Manchester Dollar General robbed by armed suspect, authorities searching for suspect
The Dollar General in Manchester at 1832 McArthur St. was robbed by an armed suspect late Sunday night. According to Manchester Police, at approximately 9:07 p.m. the store was robbed. SCAM ALERT: Sheriff’s department warning of social security phone scam hitting area
Coffee County Sheriff’s Department is alerting the public of a scam in this area. According to CCSD, someone is making calls and posing as a member of the Social Security Administration. These callers are telling the intended victim that their social security number has been used or compromised at a location and they are needing to verify or get information from the recipient of the call. Winchester police discover unknown male body; ask for public to help identify
The Winchester Police Department is conducting an investigation into the death of an unknown male. The body of a male was located on Agate Street in Winchester with no vehicle nearby. There was no cell phone with the body. At this time, police do not have an identity on the male subject. The male is described as a white male, slender build, age is late 20’s to mid-30’s. Cannon Co. authorities, TBI searching for woman considered ‘armed and dangerous’
Cannon County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is searching for Reyna Michelle Riverra. Rivera is wanted for Attempted First Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery, Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Especially Aggravated Burglary, Possessing a Firearm During a Commission Of a Dangerous Felony, Aggravated Assault, Theft Over $1,000, and False Imprisonment. Rivera should be considered armed and dangerous. She is 34 years old, 5’2” and approximately 150 pounds. She has black hair and black eyes. COVID-19 update: Sunday, Dec. 6
As of Sunday, Dec. 6 there are now 325 active cases of the COVID-19 virus in Coffee County, according to numbers provided by the Tennessee Department of Health. One additional virus-related death in Coffee County was reported over the weekend, bringing the total to 44 since March. Among school-aged children in Coffee County, there have been 17 cases reported over the past 14 days, according to TDH. Across the state of Tennessee there are currently 2,504 virus related hospitalizations and there have been 4,491 confirmed virus-related deaths. Tennessee pandemic-related unemployment claims fall last week
New and continued unemployment claims related to the COVID-19 pandemic were down in Tennessee for the week ending Nov. 28. There were 5,789 new claims for the week ending the 28th, with 46,665 continued claims, which is a drop of almost 5,000 from the previous week. Since the pandemic began, there have been 932,425 claims for unemployment in Tennessee.
