Aggravated robberies occur in Shelbyville; suspects sought
Area authorities are searching for suspects who allegedly committed two robberies at gunpoint late Tuesday, Aug. 31. According to Shelbyville Police Department, the first incident occurred on Germantown Rd. The victims were in the process of putting children in car seats when two black males exited a Ford Fusion and approached the victims. The suspects allegedly produced a handgun and demanded a wallet. Farmer’s Almanac calls for cold, snowy winter in Tennessee
It’s going to be a cold and snowy winter in Tennessee, according to the 2022 “Old Farmer’s Almanac.” “This coming winter could well be one of the longest and coldest that we’ve seen in years,” says Janice Stillman, editor of The Old Farmer’s Almanac. Motlow State now requires masks
Effective August 31, Motlow State Community College is requiring face masks to be worn inside buildings. This decision supports shared recommendations across the college community. All students, faculty, staff, and visitors are required to wear face masks while inside Motlow facilities. Two armed and dangerous females wanted out of Franklin County
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate two female suspects in reference to a burglary that occurred early Tuesday. A report filed by the Sheriff’s Office stated that at approximately 7:51 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, two females, identified as Baylie Whitson and Taylor Strumpf, were seen in the immediate area of Lisa lane, where a burglary had just occurred. Extensive flooding at the site of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival has forced Bonnaroo to cancel the 2021 festival. Heavy rains last week, combined with more downpours over the past 24 hours from the remnants of Hurricane Ida have waterlogged the festival site. Organizers began scrambling Monday, cancelling Tuesday entry in hopes of avoiding a messy entrance.
