Johnnie “J L” Nippers of Beechgrove passed this life on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Unity Medical Center at the age of 85. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 1 – 3 PM at the Manchester Community Room in the Coffee County Administrative Plaza on Highway 55.
A native of Coffee County, Mr. Nippers was the son of the late Walter and Myrtle Hobbs Nippers. He was a plumber and welder by trade and worked in the oil fields. He was also a Chain Saw artist and has folk art displayed all over the world. He won best of shows at many craft fairs and was featured on the “Talk of the Town”. He befriended George Jones through his folk art. He enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets and collecting clocks. He always was ready to go out to eat at Captain D’s or Kentucky Fried Chicken and enjoyed watching wrestling matches.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Loretta Marie Nippers; daughter, Pamela Nippers; brothers, Claude, Earl, Oscar “Bo” and James Nippers; sisters, Maude Nippers, Georgia-Kate Nippers, Mary Nell Holt, Helen Perry, Dorothy Ruth Nichols, Doris Philpot and Edna Flowers; grandson, Christopher Fitch and three angel great grand babies.
He is survived by son, Billy Glen Nippers (Sherry) of Beechgrove; daughters, Cindy Fitch of Beechgrove and Tam Turner (Donnie) of Manchester; grandchildren, Amber Turner, Justin Turner (Brittney), Jordan Turner, Billy Nippers Jr and Savannah Nippers and great grandchildren, Linkin, Brodie-Raelynn and Addilynn Grace.

Louis R. Dorsett Jr. , of Beechgrove, passed this life on Friday, January 1st, 2021 at his home at the age of 68. Mr. Dorsett was born in Tullahoma to the late Louis and Ida Virginia Jackson Dorsett. He is survived by his loving brothers and sisters in Christ at Lakewood Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 8th, 2021 at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.

Eric Glen Hamrick of Cowan passed this life on Friday, December 25, 2020 at
the age of 49. No services are scheduled.

Eric, the son of Gary Hamrick ( Denise) of Winchester and Shirley Holley of
Oriental, NC, was born in San Diego, CA.  He enjoyed fishing, designing
metal works and learning foreign languages.  Eric loved music and enjoyed
playing his guitar.

(Alexandria) of Manchester; daughters, Alexis Hamrick of Manchester, Aryana
Lowrey (Xavier) of Okinawa and Kelti Hamrick of Manchester; brother,

James Howell Peebles, Jr., of Tullahoma and Crossville, passed this life on Friday, January 1st, 2021, in Crossville at the age of 99.  Mr. Peebles was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, to the late James Howell, Sr. and Sarah McCrady Peebles on April 20, 1921.  Howell was a man of varied accomplishments and interests: he earned his private pilot’s license as a teen, served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman in World War II and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, taught mechanical engineering at Tulane University in New Orleans, worked at Arnold Engineering Development Center outside Tullahoma, and was an avid woodworker, amateur astronomer, and genealogist.  He was a lifelong Episcopalian. Mr. Peebles is survived by two sons: Dr. J. Howell Peebles, III of Crossville, and Winn Peebles and his wife Jeannie of Sevierville; one daughter, Chloe Hannah and her husband Paul of Franklin; seven grandchildren: Alice Hawes (Jake), Howell (Lisa), Susan Headrick (Martin), Heather Chance, Tucker Hannah (Julie), Duncan Hannah, and Gentry Hannah; and seven great grandchildren: Sawyer and Ava Hawes, Lucy Peebles, Megan and Emily Headrick, and Camden and Lachlan Hannah.  He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Chloe Winn Peebles, and his daughter-in-law, Laurie Kite Peebles. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 11:00-11:45am with a graveside service to follow at 12:00pm at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Alice Olsen, born in 1927, was just 2 years old when the great depression began. Being the first-born of Norwegian immigrants, she knew what it was like to struggle, to make due, to work, to save, to pray. Her life wasn’t easy, nothing handed to her on a silver platter. She was a tough woman. She raised 3 of us. Her firstborn, Erik, was her fearless adventurer; middle child, Lisa, was the animal lover; and youngest, June, gave her the greatest gift, her granddaughter, Skyler.

Alice was a proud member of the Eastern Star, the Lutheran church, and Sons of Norway. She spoke fluent Norwegian and kept the “old” traditions alive, especially at Christmas. When her husband of 58 years passed, she left the home they built on Cherry Lane, in Smithtown, NY; and moved to Manchester, Tennessee. And although she never lost the Brooklyn accent she was raised with, she was a Southerner for the last 13 years of her life.

Over a dozen charities received Alice’s continuous support. She worked as a Candy-Striper when she could, and along with her husband, drove countless families to and from the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. She had a giving heart and loved being of service to those in need.

On December 27th, at 3:30, Alice Olsen moved from Manchester, to her real home in Heaven. We will all miss her sorely, but she lives on in the hearts of those she has touched. Ser deg senere Mom (English translation: See you later!).

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Ann Hawkins Northcutt will be conducted
on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at 11 AM in the Manchester Funeral Home
chapel. Burial will follow in the Manchester City Cemetery. Visitation with
the family will begin at 10 AM prior to services at the funeral home. Mrs.
Northcutt passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Vanderbilt Harton
Hospital in Tullahoma.

Mrs. Carolyn was born on January 26, 1936, to the late Grady Ernest and
Mildred Roberts Hawkins in Summitville, TN. She attended Southside Red Hill
Church of Christ in Manchester.  Mrs. Carolyn retired from the Coffee
County Sheriff’s Department where she was the first female deputy for
Coffee County, and she was very instrumental in the business side of her
late husband, Don Northcutt’s artwork.  Mrs. Carolyn was a very supportive
and loving wife and mother.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ms. Carolyn is preceded in
death by her sister, Edna Dean Tensfield. She is survived by her children,
Mike Northcutt and his wife, Beth, Donna Gilbert and her husband, Steve,
and Jackie Bane and her husband, Tim; grandchildren, Joseph Northcutt,
Patrick Ridner and his wife, Mikeesha, Kelly Quinn and her husband, Kevin,
and Scott Duncan, and his wife, Mollie; great grandchildren, Morgan Ridner,
and Claire, Charlotte and Lydia Duncan.

Mr. Horace Mitchell Grosch, age 87, of Manchester, TN, passed from this life on Sunday, January 3, 2021, in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Grosch was born in Manchester, TN, to his late parents William Morris
Grosch and Ada Mae Groves Grosch. He was an electrician and owned and
operated G & R Electric Co. until his retirement. Mr. Grosch was also a
veteran of the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Asbury
United Methodist Church and  was also a member of the National Knife
Collectors and Dealers Association and the Case Collectors Club. He enjoyed
fishing, hunting, and working outdoors in his garden. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William Morris Grosch Jr.
and David Lee Grosch, and sister, Lula Belle Lowery.

Mr. Grosch is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy Ann Yates Grosch;
sons, James and Steven Grosch; daughters, Patricia Howland and Karen
Parkison; sisters, Nazaretta Finney and Brainard Bonner; nine grandchildren
and thirteen great grandchildren.

Due to the present Covid-19 health crisis, the family will have a memorial
service at a later date.

Silvertooth, Patrick Earl “Pat”, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 at his home at the age of 68. Pat was born in Tullahoma to the late Walter and Betty Blackburn Silvertooth and worked during his life in Sales for Wisco. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Phillip Silvertooth and Robert Silver tooth. Pat is survived by his son, Drew Silvertooth (Jennifer); his daughter, Kristi Silvertooth; one brother, Walter Silvertooth (Camille); one sister, Beth Silvertooth; his girlfriend, Jackie; three grandchildren, Andrew, Preston, and McKenna; and several nieces and nephews. Per Pat’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Ronald McDonald House, or Haven of Hope.

Rodney “Robbie” W Casbon Jr of Manchester passed this life on Wednesday,
December 30, 2020 at the age of 26. Services are scheduled for Tuesday,
January 5, 2020 at 6 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with visitation
form 4 – 6 PM.

A native of Manchester, he was the son of Rodney Casbon Sr (Denise) of
Tullahoma and Donna Nevins (Dan) of Manchester. He attended the Lighthouse
Church in Tullahoma and was active in their food ministry.  He enjoyed
helping people.  He collected guns and knives and enjoyed video gaming and
cosplay.  His favorite movie was a childhood favorite “The Lion King”.

“Robbie” was preceded in by grandfather, Richard Dale Fisher and
grandmother, Juanita C Cardenal.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandmother, Shirley Marie
Young of Manchester; sisters, Kathleen Haynes and Jennifer Anglin, both of
Tullahoma and Stephanie and Savannah Casbon, both of Manchester; aunt
Sharon Williams of Manchester; uncle Keith Cardenal of Manchester and
several nieces and nephews.
