Steven Jerome McCormick

Mr. Steven Jerome McCormick was born in New Port News, VA on June 24, 1969, the son of O.J. Jr and Doris McCormick.  He passed from this life on
Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center at the
age of 51 years.  Steven was a graduate of the class of 1987 at Coffee
County Central High School, and he worked in construction.  He was a loving
son, brother, and uncle.

Steven is preceded in death by his mother, Doris McCormick; paternal
grandparents, Bertha and Bishop McCormick; maternal grandparents, Gussie
and Monroe Sanders.  He is survived by his father, O.J. McCormick Jr;
brother, Clarence Anthony McCormick (Michelle); two sisters, Donna
McCormick Toney (Mike) and Tina McCormick Brandon (Dale); three nieces, two
nephews, and a big host aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Steven had a final wish of sobriety.  His hopes are for anyone struggling
with addiction to get help so they can enjoy a fulfilling life.

Memorial donations can be made in Steven’s name to the Coffee County
Children’s Advocacy Center.

James Wesley Stotts III

James Wesley Stotts III of Manchester passed this life on Thursday, March
25, 2021 at Unity Medical Center at the age of 57. Memorial services are
scheduled on Monday, March 29 at 6 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. The
family will receive friends from 5-6 PM.

A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late James Wesley Stotts
II and the late Ona Jones Stotts. He enjoyed working on cars and building
projects. He was a jokester and had a great sense of humor.

Mr. Stotts is survived by sons, Jimmy Stotts (Michelle) of Manchester and
Joseph Stotts (Beth) of Tullahoma; sister, Janet Cunningham of Manchester;
grandchildren, Journey Stotts, James Wesley Stotts V, Finnley Stotts and
Luna Stotts; nephew Nathan Cunningham of Manchester; good friend, Dewayne
Sissom of Cannon County and girlfriend, Shannon White of Manchester.

Frances Juanita Bennett

Frances Juanita Bennett, of Shelbyville, passed this life on Thursday, March 25th, 2021 at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital at the age of 79. Frances was born in Franklin County to the late Almon and Juanita Beavers Herrin. During her life she worked at Tennessee Apparel as a machine operator. Frances enjoyed crocheting afghans, ceramics and also loved to paint and color. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bennett; one son, Jerry W. Taylor Jr.; and one brother, Almon Rusaw Herrin. Frances is survived by her daughter, Melony Calvert and her husband Kevin; her former husband and friend, Jerry W. Taylor; grandchildren, Chelsea Metcalf and her husband Scott and Casea Hayes and her husband Bryan; and four great-granddaughters, Callie, Kennedi, Blakely, and the fourth baby girl that is due in May; and two sisters, Elwanda Master and Tawna Seeds. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27 th , 2021 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 11:00am-1:00pm with the funeral to immediately follow at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Susan King Haradon

Susan King Haradon, of Fayetteville, passed this life on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 49. The family will welcome friends for Visitation on Sunday, March 28, from 12PM to 2PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home with Funeral Services starting directly after.

Mrs. Haradon, was the daughter of David and Lucille King. She was known by her family as a woman who worked hard and loved her grandchildren.

Charles “Charlie” Edwin Freeze

Funeral services for Charles “Charlie” Edwin Freeze, age 65 of Manchester, will be conducted on Friday, March 26, 2021, with Bro. Ralph Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, March 25 from 5 – 9 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

Charlie, as he was fondly known as, was born on November 23, 1955, to the late Henry Clayton and Elizabeth Aline Brandon Freeze in Manchester, TN. He was a substitute teacher for the Coffee County school system, and he was a member of Red Hill Church of Christ in Manchester. Charlie was a die-hard UT fan, with his sister’s stating “he bled orange”; he loved all sports. Charlie had been the score keeper for the Red Raider basketball program for many years until his health declined. He loved to travel and knew where all the best stores and shops were.

Charlie is survived by his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Calorio of Collierville, TN, Phillis Freeze of Manchester, Bonnie Freeze Cardwell and her husband, Bruce, of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Ann Hazelwood also of Wesley Chapel, FL; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Vicki Marie Mearse

Vicki Marie Mearse of Manchester passed this life on Monday, March 22, 2021
at her residence at the age of 32. Funeral services are scheduled on
Saturday, March 27 at 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. The family
will receive friends from 11 AM -1 PM.

A native of Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Billy Joe Mearse
and Carolyn Gold Stevens, who survives. She enjoyed reading and being on
social media. She enjoyed talking to people and was a people person.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by uncle, Gary Corvin.

In addition to her mother, Carolyn Stevens (Clinton) of Beechgrove, Vicki
is survived by sons, Muhammed Andrew Lee Saylor and Gabriel Lorne Matthew
Saylor; daughter, Whilloh Naomi Saylor; sister, Becky Mearse of Manchester;
grandmother, Caroline George of Beechgrove; nephew, Creole Davenport and
the father of her children, Zayed Saylor of Manchester.

Clinton Taylor Gurley

On Wednesday, March 17, 2021 Clinton Taylor (CT) Gurley, of Columbia, TN,
beloved son and father of two, passed away at the age of 37.

CT was born on December 12, 1983 in Nashville, Tn. To Melanie Barton Gurley
Elam and Ricky David Gurley.  He worked for Parks and Recreation in
Columbia, Tn. a few years.  During that time, he saved a co-worker’s life
by performing CPR immediately following a heart attack.  He was recognized
by the mayor for his quick actions and proclaimed Friday, July 11, 2014
Clinton Taylor Gurley Day in recognition of his heroism. He was employed
with an Arbor Service at the time of his death.

CT loved to be outside.  He enjoyed motorcycle riding, swimming and
fishing, especially with his children.  He was known for his infectious
smile, wonderful hugs and his never-failing politeness and respect,
especially to anyone his elder.  He was quick witted, funny and kind,
always willing to respond to anyone in need.

CT was preceded in death by grandparents Guinn and Mary Frances Barton
Williams, Roy H. Barton, Sr., Ray and Dorothy Gurley and Uncle Skip
Gurley.  He is survived by his children Kaydence and Alex Gurley (Heather)
of Columbia, TN., his father Ricky Gurley, Hazel Green, AL, mother Melanie
Barton Gurley Elam and step father Les Elam, Tullahoma, grandmother Martha
Barton, Tullahoma, sisters Amber Gurley Odette (Derek) Tullahoma and
Jennifer Landers Lewis (Lonnie) Huntsville, AL., nieces and nephews Hannah,
Lilly, Tucker, Spencer and girlfriend Danielle Orvis, Spring Hill, TN.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Inez Emily Collins

Inez Emily Collins– age 97, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away
peacefully under hospice care on Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Glen Oaks
Health & Rehabilitation Center in Shelbyville, TN. She was born in
Spartanburg, SC on August 15, 1923 to Lonnie and Pauline Melton. Since
early January she battled the ill effects of having had Covid-19. During
the last few weeks of her life, the nursing home allowed in-room
visitation, and a number of her family members were able to visit and
provide loving care that she needed. To her, there could not have been a
better gift at the end of her life after a year of isolation. To her
family, she was the loving family matriarch with a unique ability to accept
each of us individually and to provide love, acceptance, and encouragement.
She always welcomed family and friends with big hugs and smiles when they
visited her, and there was always much conversation and laughter. She was
an excellent cook, and there were many wonderful meals. She will be sorely
missed by all of us, and her life is a good example of how Christ taught us
to live–by loving each other, caring about our fellow man, and being
forgiving. She knew and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior, an is
now in heaven rejoicing with Him.

 Inez was preceded in death by Ivan F. Collins, her husband of 66 years, in
2008, and her son, Luke Collins, who died in 2013, respectively, her
brother Virgil Melton and sisters Ruth Bell (Toy), and Peggy Price. She is
survived by her sisters Virginia Cox (Rudy) and Shirley Flinkinshelt; her
daughter Brenda Harris; her sons Jack Collins (Beatrice), Kenny Collins
(Debbie), Ronnie Collins (Karen) and Eric Collins, and Brent Myers, whom
she helped raise as a son, and his wife Amanda; 17 grandchildren; 34 great
grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and scores of nieces and
nephews. Her granddaughter, Kim Collard, who lived nearby, was the primary
caregiver in the last few years of her life. The family would like to thank
the staff at Glen Oaks Rehab for their loving care of Inez.

Funeral services for Inez will be conducted on Saturday, march 27, 2021, at
1 PM in the chapel of Manchester Funeral Home with Rev. Elijah Collard
officiating. She will be entombed at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens
Mausoleum following the service. Visitation with the family will be held
from 11 AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Steven Leonard

Steven Leonard, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on March the 10th 2021. Steven was born in North Carolina, grew up in Naples Florida, and resided in Manchester TN, but always remained an avid Florida Gators fan. Steven served his country and the State of Tennessee with pride by enlisting in the Tennessee Army National Guard in 2008. Steven deployed to Iraq 2010-2011 for Operation New Dawn. Steven successfully obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant and achieved many major accolades in his service to include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Tennessee Distinguished Service Medal and numerous other federal and state decorations. Steven was proceeded in death by his father Ernest Burton and his mother in law Tambra Stubelt. Steven is survived by his parents Drena Justice, Rusty Bell, step-mother Debra Burton; wife Stephanie Leonard; 4 children Kaila (Thomas), Carter, Chase, Kaleb; 2 grandchildren Thomas and Keagan; brothers William (Tina), Daniel, Fred (Polly); sisters Lori (Mark), Bobbie (Tim), Rosie (Roger); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well as countless children that he coached and mentored in both baseball and softball. Visitation and chapel services for the family and military personnel will begin at 10:00 am for family and 10:30 am for military personnel on Wednesday March the 24th2021 at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel in Manchester, TN. The burial will follow at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 7931 McCrory Lane Nashville, TN. 37221 (615) 532-2238. A Memorial Service will be held the following day on Thursday March the 25th at 1:00pm on the T-Ball Field at Fred Deadman Ball Park for the Community. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family at the 1st Vision Bank in Manchester, Tennessee under the Benefit of the Leonard Family.

Helen Mae Stephens

Helen Mae Stephens, age 92, passed away peacefully at her residence on
March 21, 2021.

*Born April 11, 1928, she was affectionately known as mom, grandma and
Nannie to her family and many others. She was the wife of the late John P.
Stephens to whom she was married for nearly 20 years before his untimely
and sudden death in 1964. She was the daughter of the late John and Zora
Farrar and was, also, preceded in death by brothers: Virgil, John, Carl and
Ray and sisters: Minnie, Annie Ruth and Evelyn.  Helen was a devoted
Christian who loved the Lord. She was a mother, grandmother and great
grandmother who, without fail, put others first and was the happiest while
in the company of her family who all considered her to be a saint. The
surest way to bring a smile to Nannie’s face was to hear the voice or to
see the face of her loved ones. Leaving to survive and recall her with fond
memories is her son Tom (Betty) Stephens of Lebanon and her daughter Judy
(Dave) Nowlin of Manchester, grandchildren:  Tracy (Tim) Smith of
Huntsville, Al, John (Sophia) Stephens of Lebanon, Kim (Joey) Quick of
Manchester and Amy (Chris) Hodge of Lebanon along with great-grandchildren:
Shaelyn & Bryson Clanton, Alex Sedlmayr, Nathan Smith, Cody Stephens,
Bentley Rich and Madison & Eli Hodge.*
