Robert Mark Nichols

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Mark Nichols, age 43, will be conducted at 12:00PM on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury, TN.  The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:30PM on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at the funeral home.  Mark passed from this life on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, TN. 

Mark was born in Murfreesboro, TN on October 10, 1977, the son of Mike Nichols and Teresa Miller.  He was a welder for many years.  Mark was a kind hearted man who loved life.  He would try and help anyone that needed it.  Mark enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, going to the lake, and drag racing.  He also had a special place in his heart for his dog, Jack.  Mark is survived by his parents, Mike Nichols and Teresa Miller.

Joe Gibbons

Memorial services for Mr. Joe Gibbons, age 83 of Manchester, will be conducted on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 4 PM in the Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will begin at 2 PM until time of service. Mr. Gibbons passed away at his home on Thursday, April 22, after an extended illness.

Mr. Joe was born on July 17, 1937, in Livingston, TN, to the late Charlie and Uree Gibbons. He retired from Batesville Casket in Manchester, where he made lots of close friends and often mentioned he loved them like family. He loved woodworking and gardening his vegetables, but he was most proud of his watermelons. During his life, Mr. Joe was a custom cabinet maker, farmer, he raised cattle, pigs, 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Joe is preceded in death by his grandson, Dusty Keele, nephew, Reece McCormick, sister, Bettye McCormick, and son-in-law, Rick Queener. He is survived by his daughters, Kammie Queener, and Rhonda Raines and her husband, Van; grandchildren, Mickey Blanton, Bubba Vincent, Brandi O’Kelley, and Leslie Keele; great grandchildren, Blayne Blanton, Kylie Vincent, Aubrey O’Kelley, Haley Keele, Damian Keele, and Case Keele; one nephew, Landon McCormick; numerous nieces and nephews of the Whittemore family that he loved so much, and a host of friends.

Roger Dale Finchum Sr.

Roger Dale Finchum Sr. (Spider & Papaw) of Hendersonville passed this life
peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the age of 74.

Roger was born to Frances and Ernest Buford Finchum on March 12, 1947. He
graduated from Tennessee Preparatory School (CTPS) in 1965. Here is where
he met and married his lifelong love and partner, Shirley. They were
married for almost 56 years. Roger was an avid golfer, loved to travel
extensively and he enjoyed eating out as well as a home cooked meal. His
children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He was
always there in times of need for anyone in his family and defined the term
“Family Man”. You knew you could always count on him to listen or be there
when needed.

Mr. Finchum is survived by his wife, Shirley*; *children, Trina and
Jeffrey; five grandchildren, Courtney, Alex, Andrew, Trey and Natalie and
two brothers, Ricky and Keith Finchum. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by three sisters, Debbie, Sharon and Pokey and his eldest
son, Roger Finchum Jr.

There will be no services, only a small family memorial service. He was
loved tremendously and will be missed more than he will ever know. If you
would like to honor his memory, please contribute to the lung cancer
research.

Virginia Scruggs Jared

Virginia Scruggs Jared (83) of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after a brief illness.  Born in Nashville she attended Hillsboro High School in Nashville and Christian Women’s College in Missouri.  Virginia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Shaw Jared, daughters Anne Sinclair (Clark) of Bluffton, SC and Elizabeth “Beth” Davis (Tom) of Cary, NC and three grandchildren, Clark Jr., Ellen and Susan.  She is preceded in death by brothers Maurice Scruggs and Edward Criddle Scurggs III (Kay) and parents Annie and Edward Criddle Scruggs Jr. of Nashville.  She was an antique dealer, a member of the Manchester Dig and Dream Garden Club and was an active member of St. Bedes Episcopal Church.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24th  at 12:30pm at St. Bedes Episcopal Church, Manchester, TN.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Coffee County Humane Society or St. Bedes Episcopal Church.

JoAnn H. Bivins

JoAnn H. Bivins of Tullahoma passed this life on Monday, April 19, 2021 at
the Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 84. Funeral Services are
scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will
receive friends from 1 – 2 PM.

A native of Old Hickory, TN, she was the daughter of the late J. B. and
Mary Gatlin Huff.  She was a member of Grundy Street Church of Christ and
enjoyed cooking, especially baking.  She also enjoyed playing cards, being
with her grandchildren and attending country music concerts.

Mrs. Bivins is survived by her husband, Dan H. Bivins Jr of Tullahoma;
sons, Danny Bivins and his wife, Brenda of Manchester and Mike Bivins and
his wife, Debby of Murfreesboro; brothers, James Milton Huff and Frankie
Huff; sisters, Barbara Collins and Faye Primrose and her husband, F. W.;
grandchildren, Jeremy Bivins and his wife, Aurore, Brittany Bivins, Kinsey
Johnson and her husband, Bryan, Madison Newman and her husband, David and
Michael Bivins; great grandchildren, Everleigh and Wells Johnson and one on
the way and numerous nieces and nephews..

Mary S. Milam

Milam, Mary S. , of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, April 16 th , 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living at the age of 100. Mrs. Milam was born in Blue Springs, Mississippi to the late Tilman and Ester Ozell Leach Swindle. During her life she worked for SuperX Drugs in Knoxville, was a registered cosmetologist, and was an active member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville. Mrs. Milam also volunteered with Mended Hearts in Knoxville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ron Milam; daughter-in-law, Ann Harrelson; two grandsons, Brian and Michael Milam; one brother, Tripp Swindle; and two sisters, Evelyn Webb and Alene Adams. Mrs. Milam is survived by her son, James Harrelson; two granddaughters, Denise (Alan) Pegram and Direnda (Gary) Jarrell; great-grandchildren, Lauren (Justin) Sulfridge, Quenton (Julie) Kirby, Garrett Pegram, Clay (Rebecca) Jarrell, Adam (Baylee) Jarrell, Taylor Milam, and Tanner Milam; great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Grayson Sulfridge, Madeline and Savannah Jarrell, and Austin Jarrell; and her daughter-in-law, Melissa Milam. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Avalon Hospice.

Charles Leroy Shogren

Charles Leroy Shogren of Tullahoma passed this life on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital at the age of 73 . Mr. Shogren was born in Two Harbors, Minnisota to the late Roy Shogren, and Dorothy Ness Carpenter who survives. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart, and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He was also a member of the Patriot Guards. In addition to his mother, Mr. Shogren is survived by his wife, Patricia Morley Shogren; four sons, Ray Kelly (Brandi), Arthur Anglebrandt (Denise), Brian Frasier, and Brett Frasier; one step-daughter, Shannon Berg (Tom); one sister, Pam Mayfield (Earl); one brother, Tim Shogren; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Aaron, Ray Jr., Lora, Troy, Emily, McKenzie, and Morgan; and four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Lincoln, Quinn, and Dreyln. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Kilgore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Larry Eugene Paris

Mr. Larry Eugene Paris, age 77 of Manchester, passed away on Friday, April
16, 2021, at McArthur Manor in Manchester. He was born on November 30,
1943, in Claremore, OK, to the late Arch LaVerne and Aileen McGraw Paris.
Mr. Paris served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the
Viet Nam war, as a jet engine mechanic. He was a member of Temple Baptist
church in Manchester and had a great love for motorcycles and fast cars.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Paris is preceded in death by his loving
wife, Gene Hilton Paris, son, Larry Ronald Paris, and brothers, David and
Ronald Paris. He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda White and her
husband, Robert, and Viki Summrall and her husband, David; brother, Wayne
Paris and his wife, Donna; grandchildren, Jennifer White, Joshua White,
Stephanie Xixis and her husband, Lee, Dustin White, and his wife, Whitney,
Jessica Redding and her husband, Trey, Joseph White, Mason Summrall, and
Trevor Summrall; great grandchildren, Dimitri and Annie Xixis, Riley White,
and Charlotte Redding; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

There will be a private family service.

John William Harrell

Funeral services for Mr. John William Harrell, age 84 of Manchester, will be conducted at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Manchester Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the funeral home.  Mr. Harrell passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 17, 2021, in Tullahoma, TN.

John was born in Coffee County on July 16, 1936, to the late Thomas and Annie Harrell.  John was a big-hearted man who loved to tinker with clocks and watches, and he could whittle.  He liked visiting the flea market and auctions, and he enjoyed watching hummingbirds.  John was a loving father and brother.

In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his three brothers, Leslie, Charles, and Clifton Harrell; four sisters, Lorene Rackley, Della Cooper, Louise Vandergriff, and Elizabeth Kennedy.  He is survived by his one son, Jonathan Harrell; two daughters, Nicole Harrell and Lisa Miron (Thomas); two brothers, James Harrell and T.C. Harrell.

Herman Wayne Cox

Herman Wayne Cox, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, April 16 th , 2021 at 4:30pm at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital at the age of 86. Wayne was born on May 20 th , 1934 in Forest Mill, Tennessee. He was the eldest of five children born to Bernice and Maggie Cox. After graduating in 1952 from Coffee County Central High School, Wayne joined the United States Air Force where he served for eight years. He married Donna Anderton on May 8 th , 1960 and the couple spent their married life in Tullahoma. Wayne was a part of the First Baptist Church Preschool Ministry for over 50 years. This was always a highlight of his life. He also served as a church Deacon, worked on the media team, and several other committees. Wayne was a graduate of MTSU. He was a member of the Tullahoma chapter of the Lion’s Club, serving in many different offices including club President. He primarily worked for Middle Tennessee Redi-Mix and retired at 85 years of age from Horton Supply. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna Cox; his two daughters, Beth Cox and Jeanna (Sid) Wing; three grandchildren, Rachel (Chase) Hargrove, Christopher (Dawn) Wing, and Lora (Levi) Segars; two great-grandchildren, Eli Barrington and Jonathan Wing; and three sisters, Shirley Dalton, Ann Redmon, and Linda Hixson. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Cox. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 19 th , 2021 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 3:00-6:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 20 th , 2021 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church with Pastors Kevin Ivy and Andy Stallings officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
