Thelma Hammers
Thelma Hammers, 98, passed this life on Sunday, September 12 th , 2021. In God’s timing, her life mission is over and her eternal one has begun. Thelma was born November 5 th , 1922 in Belvidere, Tennessee to the late Amos and Callie Northcutt Hannah. She was an active member of Tullahoma First United Methodist Church for 70 years. Thelma spent her life in service to others. At 95, she was still visiting shut-ins and taking them Bible study materials. Thelma also spent 50 years as a volunteer through the former Guidance Council and Good Samaritan Food Pantry, retiring at the age of 95. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Hammers; three sisters, Gail Hannah, Jean Alexander, and Earlene Luttrell; two brothers, Howard Hannah and Wayne Hannah; daughters-in-law, Lucy Hammers and Betty Hammers; and granddaughter, Angel Hammers. Thelma is survived by three children, Alan Hammers of Tullahoma, Leslie (Phil) Jones of Tullahoma, and Jack (Alice) Hammers of Somerville; eight grandchildren, Misty (Alfred) Jones, Shawn (Lisa) Hammers, Wendy (Kelly) Kidd, Shelly (Mike) Boucher, Shannon Blanco, Jason (Becky) Hammers, Ginger (Woody) Dillehay, and Jessica (Mike) Craig; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Buck (Janie) Hannah of Manchester, Cap (Lois) Hannah of Belvidere, and Bobby (Linda) of Matteson, Illinois; and 31 nieces and nephews who brought great joy to her life. A public graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 19 th , 2021 at Maplewood Cemetery at 4:00pm with Phil Jones and Bruce Luttrell officiating. The family would like to express deep appreciation to Brookdale Assisted Living and Hospice Compassus for the loving, compassionate care they extended to Thelma and her family. Frances B. Davison
Frances B. Davison, of Lynchburg, passed this life on Friday, September 10 th , 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 89. Mrs. Davison was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee to the late James and Clara Webb Belew. She was a founding member of the Bel-Aire/Cedar Lane Church of Christ, was a talented seamstress, and enjoyed quilting, crochet, cooking and playing cards. She loved her family fiercely and her Lord even more. During her life, she and her husband also owned and operated Big Star Grocery in Tullahoma. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davison was preceded in death by her husband G. Ray Davison; and one brother, Thomas Belew. She is survived by three daughters, Glenda (Phil) Gatto, Theresa (Charlie) Lyle, and Tammy (Ron) Turner; one brother, Bill (Karen) Belew; grandchildren, Angie (Danny) Maxie, Tiffany (David) Bryson, Morgan (Brandon) Turner, Chase (Anne) Lyle, Traci (Bo) Boswell, and Amy (Ken) Canary; great-grandchildren, Faith, Josh, Maddi, Riley, Eli, Matt, Eme, Trevor, Blakely, Beckham, Brynn, Turner, Weston, and Katie; and great-great grandchildren, Bella and Luca. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15 th , 2021 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16 th , 2021 at 11:00am at the church of Christ at Cedar Lane with Bros. Pat Allison and Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tennessee Children’s Home, P.O. Dorothy Gene Waterman
Funeral services for Ms. Dorothy Gene Waterman, age 89 of Manchester, will be conducted on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 11 AM in the Manchester Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, September 13 from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Ms. Dorothy passed away at her home on September 9 after an extended illness. The family requests that masks be worn within the funeral home.
Dorothy Gene, daughter to the late Carlton and Alma Smith Rust, was born on December 15, 1931, in Manchester, Tennessee. Gene was a member of the Manchester First Baptist Church and a local member of the VFW Women’s Club. After high school, Ms. Dorothy graduated from St. Thomas Hospital for Nursing.
After high school, Gene attended and graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Thomas Hospital School of Nursing. Later, she became the Director of Nurses at the Coffee County General Hospital. Gene, later in life, attended and graduated as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist from Madison Anesthesia School in Nashville. Gene worked as an Obstetric Anesthetist within Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN, until retirement.
In addition to her parents, Gene is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Waterman; brothers, Farris, Willie Carl, Donald, and Wayne Rust; and sisters, Barbara Bowden, and Judy Rust.
Gene is survived by daughters, Brenda Stacy (Riley), and Sherry Parham (Donnie); step children, Sam Waterman, and Roxanne Eggleston (Patrick); grandchildren, Ashley Benson (Brian), Jamie Jernigan (Andrew), Seth Parham (Cassie), Nick Parham, Dane Parham (Jessica); great grandchildren, Aleigha Stacy, Alivia Jernigan, Julian Jernigan, Jaxon Benson, Paisley Parham, Miley Parham, Brantley Parham, Nevaeh Parham, Joey Parham, Sissy Parham, Milania and Aria Parham; special niece, Tamala Sadler (Byron) with great nephews, Garrett and Grant; special nephew, Shane Rust and a numerous host of friends.

Thurman L. Espy
Thurman L. Espy passed this life on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at
Manchester Health Care Center in Manchester at the age of 70. No services
are scheduled at this time.
Mr. Espy, a native of Coffee County, retired from Box Factory after 28
years of employment. He loved beagle dogs and running rabbits. He also
enjoyed working on lawn mowers and he was always willing to help everyone
who needed a helping hand.
He is survived by his brother, Jesse Espy; brother, Ricky Espy; several
nieces and nephews.

Mavis Kennedy Robison
Mavis Kennedy Robison, age 96 of Tullahoma was called home to the lord on
August 31, 2021. Mavis was born on May 1, 1925 to Walter and Willie Kennedy
in Madison County, Alabama. Mavis was preceded in death by her loving
husband, Clarence Robinson, sisters Jose Kennedy, Myrtle Daughtery, Rena
Reed, Gladys Parker; brothers, James Kennedy and Donald Kennedy. She is
survived by her loving daughter Brenda of Tullahoma, beloved son, Michael
of Tullahoma and granddaughter, Kellie Felker (Eric) of Murfreesboro, TN
and loving granddog Little B. Mrs. Mavis was a tremendous example of a
Christian, God fearing woman. As per the Bible “She did all she could” for
others. On numerous occasions making one of her homemade chocolate pies or
chicken and dumplings for a sick or a bereaved person was the norm. She
couldn’t wait for Christmas when she made goodies and delivered them to the
widows of the church. Mrs. Mavis worked hard her entire life. She spent
time at Genesco, Pajama Corp, and the Overall factory before settling in as
a baker in the cafeteria at West Middle School. She so loved sewing and
crocheting. For every newborn at the church she would hand crochet a
complete baby set. Her quietness and gentleness along with her faith in her
Lord made her a remarkable, precious lady. She was a long time member of
the Hickerson Station Church of Christ until the death of her husband and
then joined her children at Grundy Street Church of Christ. A special
Thanks to Kristi and Ashley who was the most special caregivers to her.
Private graveside services were scheduled for Saturday, September 4, 2021
at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please

Hewitt Edwin Hayes Jr.
Hewitt Edwin Hayes Jr., of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, September 7 th , 2021 at his home at the age of 67. Mr. Hayes was born in Lawrenceburg to the late Hewitt Edwin Hayes, Sr. and Margaret Ann Hayes. He is survived by five brothers and sisters, Edwin Ann Hayes (Elgan) Usrey, James A. Hayes, Linda C. Hayes-Harmon, Mary M. (Phillip) Freeze, and Martha L. Hayes (Billy) Faulkner; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11 th , 2021 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00am. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at the John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, Tennessee.

Carl Thomas “Tom” Swor
Carl Thomas “Tom” Swor, 72, of Frankewing, died peacefully in his home on September 6, 2021.
Born in Nashville December 16, 1948, Tom was the second of five children born to Sammy V. Swor, Sr. and Lillian B. Cloar of Nashville. He was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School and Tennessee Tech University, and had a long, proud career as a fisheries biologist for the TVA and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Tom was born a city boy, but fell in love with rural life at a young age. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking. He especially loved sharing these experiences with his family and many close friends.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother Lillian, brother Mike, and father Sammy Sr. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Sallie Roberson, sons Charlie (Rachel) and grandsons Corbin and Rowan of Young Harris, GA, son Steve (Claire) and grandsons Sam and Bill of Melbourne, Australia, and son Karl of Jackson, TN. He is also survived by his brothers Sammy Jr. (Sallie S.) and Glenn (Kim), sister, Sue (Larry) Collier, stepmother Charlotte, stepbrother Gill Hunter (Alicia), and half-brother Kirk (Ashley).
Per Tom’s wishes, a celebration of life BBQ will be held for family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Fisheries Society.

Pamela Ann Ouellette
Ms. Pamela Ann Ouellette, age 61, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester. Ms. Ouellette was born September 12, 1959 to the late Roy D. and Ruth Weil Wheeler. Pam loved many things: her daughter, her grandchildren, her dogs, her time spent in the military, her career, riding horses, and helping others to name a few. She would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Pam’s kindness toward others and her desire to put a smile on another’s face is what she is most remembered for. Outside of work, it wasn’t uncommon to find her fixing things in the house while listening to her country music. Anything and everything she put her mind to, she did. She is deeply loved by many people and will be greatly missed. Ms. Ouellette is survived by a daughter, Brittni (Aaron) La-Rue; brother, Dallas (Marci) Wheeler; sister, Kathy (Larry) Wheeler Bresnahan; grandchildren, Charlie and Levi La-Rue; nephews, Cody and Cory Wheeler. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, September 13, 2021, from 5:00pm until 6:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following visitation at 6:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home. John Charles “J.C.” Fischer II
John Charles “J.C.” Fischer II, age 31, of Tullahoma passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021. He was born November 18, 1989 in McMinnville, TN to John Charles Fischer Sr. and Beth Buchanan Fischer. J.C. was employed at the Tullahoma Walmart for 12 years where he was an automotive technician. He also served as youth pastor at Victory Baptist Church in Manchester and was a volunteer firefighter at Hickerson Station Fire Dept. He was known as a wonderful and caring person who was very active in his son’s life. He enjoyed fishing and was a D&D enthusiast.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, September 10th at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 11 with Brother Keith Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. At the family’s request, masks are required to attend the services.
J.C. was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Geneva Fisher; maternal grandparents, James and Betty Buchanan.
He is survived by his father, John Charles Fischer Sr (Tani); mother, Beth Fischer; son, John Charles Fischer III; sister, Megan Fischer; step-brother, Steven Burbaugh (Tara); step-sister, April Spinner (Alex); great-aunt, Charlene Bennett; nieces and nephews, Cooper Fischer, Addilyn Bost, Zaylan Spinner, Zyler Spinner, Gavin Burbaugh, Brock Burbaugh, Adi Burbaugh, and Corey Burbaugh; many aunts and uncles.
