10/15/14 —– Jeffrey Wayne Hoskins
Mr. Jeffrey Wayne Hoskins, age 50, of Tullahoma, TN., passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, at Harton Regional Medical Center.
Born in Leslie County, KY., and a native of Tullahoma, TN., he was the son of Christine Hoskins of Tullahoma and the late John Hardy Mitchell.
He attended Church of God of Prophecy in Tullahoma and was a self employed construction worker. He loved plants and enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, going to the lake, and nature. He also loved his dog Chaco.
In addition to his father, he preceded in death by his step father John (Pop) Russell, and his sister Tammy Bagley.
He is survived by his mother Christine Hoskins of Tullahoma, TN., daughter Terrilynn Hoskins and son Jason Wayne Hoskins, both of Salem, IN., daughter Tiffany (Chad) Robbins and son Justin Hoskins, both of Mitchell, IN., daughter Hayley Rich of Alexandria, KY., step son Coy Rivard of Cincinnatti, OH., sister Sherry (Darrell) Hall of London, KY., twin sister Jennifer (Michael) Posey of Tullahoma, brother Richard Hoskins of Tullahoma, four grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and one very special friend, his dog Chaco.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 11 AM until 2 PM in the Chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will begin at 2 PM in the Chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home with Rev. William T. Pritchett.

10/14/14 —— Shirley Ann Groce
Shirley Ann Groce of Mulberry passed away Sunday October 12, 2014 at her residence.
A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Arwin F. Huffman and Alene Ivey Huffman.
She was retired from Mid State Food Service and a member of the Mulberry Baptist Church. Shirley love to crochet, going to flea markets and auctions, loved gospel music, her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 54 years Roy Glen Groce of Mulberry, daughter; Lori Brewer and her husband Dwayne of Mulberry, brother; Richard Huffman and his wife Becky of Lynchburg, a special cousin that she loved as a sister Barbara Durm of Lynchburg, grandchildren; Hannah Brewer, Matthew Brewer Tonya Brandon and her husband Jesse and Chris Brewer and a great-grandchild, Shaylynn Brandon. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, J A Huffman and a great- grandchild Heaven Angel Brandon.
The family will receive friends Tuesday October 14, 2014 at Lynchburg Funeral Home from 12 until time of services at 2 PM with Bro. David Arlington and Bro. Roger Bates officiating.
Burial will follow at the Booneville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the benevolent Fund at Mulberry Baptist Church or Mulberry Methodist Church.

10/14/14 —– Margaret Scott Butler
Margaret Scott Butler, age 94, of Tullahoma, TN (and lately of Roswell, GA) passed away Thursday, Oct 9, 2014 at North Fulton Hospital in Alpharetta, GA.
She was retired from teaching English at Motlow State Community College, and was a member of Cedar Lane Church of Christ.
She was born May 29, 1920 in Culleoka, TN, the daughter of the late Allen Burnley Scott and the late Bessie Matthews Scott. After her marriage to the late Warren Eugene Butler, she lived in Jacksonville, FL, Atlanta, GA, and Miami, FL. After the untimely death of her husband in Miami, she moved to Murfreesboro, TN to complete a BA and MA in English at Middle Tennessee State University. In September, 1971 she started teaching English at Motlow State Community College, and worked on her PhD from Indiana University of Pennsylvania during the summers. She earned her PhD in 1980, and after 20 years of teaching, retired in June of 1991.
Survivors include one son: William W. Butler, Roswell, GA, two grandsons: T. Cornelius “Neil” Sturgill Jr., Chadwick C. “Chad” (Missy) Sturgill, and 3 great granddaughters: Katherine A. Sturgill, Hanna C. Sturgill, and Caroline S. Sturgill. She also had numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Peggy B. Sturgill, and 2 brothers: James C. Scott and Donald M. Scott. Mrs. Butler loved her family, and will be greatly missed.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, October 13 in the chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Tuesday, October 14 at Cedar Lane Church of Christ.

10/12/14 —- Annie Jewell Christian
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Jewell Christian, age 94, of Manchester will be conducted Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Christian passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester, Thursday, October 9, 2014.
She was born June 18, 1920 in Cannon County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Joe C. Duke and Claudie Ethel Parker Duke.
In earlier years, Mrs. Christian enjoyed quilting and cooking. She retired from Coffee County Day Care where she was a cook for many years. More recently, family and friends remember her for being a bit particular about her yard. She was known by many to carry sharp scissors utilized for clipping out whatever amount of clover she could spy which she took very seriously; however, others found a small amount of humor in this ritual considering her age. She enjoyed flower gardening, relaxing on her front porch in her rocking chair and was a longtime member of Goose Pond United Methodist Church. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J. Horace “Pete” Christian; a son-in-law, C. Lyndon Toliver; a granddaughter, Kristi Bass; and siblings, Morgan Duke, Alton Duke, Ferris “Shorty” Duke, Hilton Duke, Thurston Duke, Clayburn Duke, Wiley Duke, Leona Spry, Carmine Drennon, Norene Holt, and Roberta Duke.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Toliver of Manchester; three grandchildren, Misti Russ and husband, Mason; Mindi Elrod and husband, Steven; and Melodi Cornelison and husband, Darrell; and grandson-in-law, Michael Bass; and seven great-grandchildren, Chelsea Bass, Macy Bass, Reesee Bass, Nathaniel Russ, Chevell Cornelison and Chaylux Cornelison and Gabriel Elrod. Also surviving is a brother, Wendell Duke and wife, Sybil of Manchester; and two twin sisters, Glera Presley of Manchester and Lera Whitmore of Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

10/12/14 —- Mabel Majors Ervin
Mabel Majors Ervin, age 86, passed away Thursday October 9, 2014.
A native of Franklin County, she was a long-time member of Tullahoma First United Methodist Church. She worked for Bell South as a telephone operator and retired following 27 years of service. She will be remembered as having the heart of a servant and having never met a stranger. She would do anything for anybody, whether she knew them or not and served as a volunteer for numerous charitable organizations throughout her life. In her spare time she enjoyed her garden, especially the squirrels and cats that came by.
Mrs. Ervin is preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Joseph L. Ervin, a former two-term mayor of Tullahoma. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Rudolph, Wilson and Charles Majors and a sister, Mary Ruth Majors Parks.
She is survived by her daughter, Patty Ervin Fandrich of Belvidere and her son, Rev. Ken (Cathy) Ervin of the Broadview community; a sister, Wilma Shasteen of Tullahoma; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will conducted from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday October 12, 2014 with Rev. Ken Ervin officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

10/7/14 —- Scott Allen Foster
Scott Allen Foster, 47 of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014.
No services are scheduled.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Henry Foster and Joyce Lee Maulden Foster of Murfreesboro.
He had worked as a white water rafting river guide on the Ocoee River. In addition to rafting, he enjoyed biking and hiking. He loved listening to music and being with his friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Joshua Foster of Murfreesboro, one sister, Stacey Denby and her husband, Bill of Cowan and special nephew, Zach “Fred” Foster of Murfreesboro.

10/11/14 —- Geraldine “Jerri” Conry Lentz
Geraldine “Jerri” Conry Lentz, age 90 of Manchester, Tennessee and former Chattanooga resident, passed away on October 7, 2014 at the Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.
Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, she was the only child of the late Cam and Lorena Conry of Pelham, Tennessee.
A lifetime member of the Methodist Church, Geraldine, “Jerri”, graduated from Grundy County High School, Tennessee Technogical University and Peabody University in Nashville with a Degree in Elementary Education. She was a teacher in the Hamilton County, Tennessee School System for over thirty years teaching at the Anna B. Lacey School, as well as, the East Brainerd Elementary School. She was a member of the T.E.A., the Hamilton County Retired Teachers and the Delta Kappa Gamma organizations.
Mrs. Lentz is survived by her husband of fifty seven years, William Lentz of Manchester, TN; nephews, Douglas Lentz of Tullahoma, Johnny Lentz (Penny) of Flintstone, GA and Richard Lentz (Angela) of Chattanooga; several cousins from her side of the Conry, Wilson and Gunn families; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday morning, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Funeral Home Chapel in Manchester, TN.
Interment will follow on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Athens City Cemetery in Athens, Alabama.
10/10/14 —– Carl V. Henley
Carl V. Henley, age 69, passed away on October 7, 2014 at his home in Hillsboro, Tennessee.
Carl was a retired Store Keeper at Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) and a member of the Rutledge Hill Community Church. Carl will be fondly remembered for his love of bird watching, motorcycles and fast cars.
He was born in Hillsboro, Tennessee to his parents, the late William “Bud” A. Henley and Mary Emma Buckner Henley. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Emma Tucker and Lilly Ruth Baker; and brothers, Andrew Jackson Henley, James Louis Henley and Luther Elisha Henley.
Carl is survived by his children, Teresa A. Hill (Michael) of Kansas, Paul E. Baker of Texas and Carlina Henley; sister, Judy A. Nabors (Stanley) of Hillsboro, TN; brothers, Billy F. Henley (Hazel) of Hillsboro, TN, William Thomas Henley (Nancy) of Greenhaw, TN and Clarence W. Henley (Nona) of Hillsboro, TN; two grandchildren, Nicole Hill and Michael Hill both of Kansas; many nephews, nieces and cousins; special, special friends at David Henley’s Motorcycle Shop and the Hillsboro Restaurant; special cousin, Frankie Hill; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday evening, October 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

10/11/14 — George Wendell Trussell
Mr. George Wendell Trussell, age 70 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed from this life on October 6, 2014 at Centennial Medical in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lee and Mary Florence Payne Trussell, one daughter, Connie Brown, one brother James Clifford Trussell, and two infant brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Wanda Trussell, one daughter, Sue Ireland and husband Robert of Georgia, one son, Robert Wendell Trussell of Manchester, Tennessee, one sister, Anna Sekulich and husband Tony of Tullahoma, Tennessee, two brothers, Ronny Lee Trussell of Decherd, Tennessee, Wayne Trussell of Manchester, Tennessee, four grandchildren, Lindsay Brown Winton and husband Josh of Manchester, Tennessee, Tanner Trussell of Hillsboro, Tennessee, Hannah Brown of Beechgrove, Tennessee, Jacob Trussell of Hillsboro, Tennessee, step-mother Ann Haynes and husband Kenneth of Tracy City, Tennessee, special friends, Richard and Karen Myers and Rachael Myers of Manchester, Tennessee, Marion and Kay Hill and Halie and Matthew Hill of Columbia, Tennessee, his Church family at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, and several nieces, nephew, cousins and dear friends also survive.
Mr. Trussell was a member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Manchester where he served as Pastor for thirty-one years. During his ministry he served as Pastor at the Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Columbia, Tennessee, the New Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Colquitt, Georgia and the Pelham Free Will Baptist Church in Pelham, Tennessee. Wendell enjoyed fishing and family time. His faith and his family were his life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Funeral Services for Mr. Wendell Trussell will be conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel will Pastor Brandon Stutts officiating.
Burial will follow in the Blanton Chapel Cemetery, Coffee County, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.
