12/8/14 —- Dan B. Farrar, Sr.

Dan B. Farrar, Sr., age 96, died December 4, 2014.

Mr. Farrar was a native of Coffee Co, and was the son of the late Leland A. and Mary Butler Farrar.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, December 8, 2014veteran at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. Jim Clardy and Dr. Craig Goff will officiate.

Burial will be in Beechgrove Cemetery.

Mr. Farrar is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vivian Crowell Farrar; two sons, Dan B. Farrar, Jr and wife Bonnie of Atlanta, and Dr. Thomas Farrar and wife Elizabeth of Memphis; four grandchildren, Lauren Farrar, Allison Morgan and husband Ben, Erin Farrar, and Ryan Farrar; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Farrar was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He was a 1936 graduate of Manchester High School, attended Falls Business College, Watkins Institute, and Nashville School of Law. He served in the US Army during World War II. While serving in the army he attended the US Army finance school at Wake Forest and also served in the Burma-India Theater. Mr. Farrar retired as a finance manager in the appliance division of General Electric following 37 years of service. He was a member of Gideons International and Beechgrove Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or the building fund at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

12/6/14 —– Frank B. Tuzinski, Sr.

Memorial services for Mr. Frank B. Tuzinski, Sr., age 69, of Manchester, TN will be conducted Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Father Stephen Klasek officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of services on Noon Saturday.

Inurnment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania at a later date.

Mr. Tuzinski passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, TN.

He was born October 14, 1945 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Joseph Tuzinski and Frances Zaijkowski Tuzinski.

After high school graduation, Frank joined the United States Army June 8, 1964. He served his country for three years during the Vietnam War. Frank was a decorated soldier, having received a Purple Heart for his efforts as well as numerous medals including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal as well as others. He was honorably discharged June 7, 1967. Upon returning home to Pennsylvania, he met the love of his life, Cecelia Hufford Tuzinski. The two married on March 30, 1968 in Luzerne, PA. Frank worked for the State of Pennsylvania, where he retired on July 6, 2001. Shortly after retirement, the couple moved to Tennessee. Throughout his life, Frank was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially turkeys. He was also known to be quite the jokester and usually the “life of the party” by family and friends. In later years, he has enjoyed relaxing and watching golf on television. Frank loved his wife and family and will be forever missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Tuzinski and Frank’s twin brother, Joseph Tuzinski.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Ceil Tuzinski of Manchester, TN; two children, daughter, Trisha Van Dusen and husband, Eric of Palmer, Alaska; and son, Frank Tuzinski, Jr., of Manchester, TN. Also surviving is a sister, Carol Lynn and husband, Alan of Durango, CO and three brothers, Richard Tuzinski of Ashley, PA; Leonard Tuzinski and wife, Nancy of Harvey’s Lake, PA; and Bernard Tuzinski and wife, Mauri also of Ashley, PA; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

12/2/14 —– Samuel B. “Sammy” Shettleworth

Mr. Samuel B. “Sammy” Shettleworth, age 72, of Manchester, TN, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Emerald Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee, TN following an extended illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Sammy was born in Murfreesboro, TN, the son of the late Samuel Wilson Shettleworth and Ruby Kendrick Woodard, who survives.

He was a retired ironworker at AEDC where he was a member of the Ironworkers Union #704, and also a union steward. Sammy attended Hillsboro Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his mother, Sammy is also survived by his loving wife, Linda Jo Carter Shettleworth of Manchester; two sons, Sloan W. Shettleworth of Manchester and Dirk Manning of Huntsville, AL; one daughter, Tammy Manning of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Doyle Shettleworth of Beechgrove, TN; one sister, Sandie K. Hurley of Florida; two uncles, Archie and Al Kendrick; and three grandchildren.

12/5/14 —- John Thomas Cathey, Jr.

Graveside services for Mr. John Thomas Cathey, Jr., age 91 of Manchester will be conducted Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Lynch Cemetery in the 16th Model community.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Cathey passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.

He was born December 24, 1922 in the 16th model community of Coffee County, the son of the late John Thomas Cathey, Sr., and Doshie Harper Cathey.

In earlier years, he was employed with Wolverine Tube in Detroit, Michigan. In the 1970’s Mr. Cathey and his wife, moved to Manchester where he enjoyed retirement. His hobbies included watching western movies and the news while relaxing in his comfortable recliner. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gertie L. Reed Cathey; a son, Jerry Cathey; and three sisters, and one brother.

Survivors include a grandson, Derrick Cathey of Newnan, GA; two nephews, Wendell R. Byford of Manchester; Ray Cathey of Hillsboro; two nieces, Roxie Clements Byford and Mary Jo Perry both of Manchester; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

12/4/14 —- Albin O. Horn Jr.

Albin O. Horn Jr., of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, December 1st, 2014 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 91.

Mr. Horn was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Albin O. Horn Sr. and Viola Poehlmann Horn.

During his life he served in the United States Navy during World War II and went on to become the Owner of the Albin O. Horn Printing Company as well as Apostle’s Point in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Horn is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley McPherson; and one grandchild, Jesse.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Horn of Tullahoma; two daughters, Stephanie Mikl and her husband Jim of Gainesville, Florida, and Rachel Nolan and her husband Brad of Tullahoma; two sons, Mark Horn and his wife Anetta of Madison, Wisconsin, and Jon Horn and his wife Patricia of Waterford Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, Chris, Abby, and Stephanie; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Horn will be held on Thursday, December 4th, 2014 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with the funeral to immediately follow at 1:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Benefield officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.

11/30/14 —- Joy Dow Webb Golden

Mrs. Joy Dow Webb Golden, age 66, of Tullahoma passed away Sunday November 30, 2014 with her family present at her side at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

She was born in Holdredge, Nebraska.

Joy worked at Harton Regional Medical Center first as a LPN and later as a cardio vascular sonographer.

She will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her parents, John E. and Maxine Dow, son, Eric Golden, grandchild, Logan Golden, sister, Jan Dow (Ron) Vickery and a brother, Gary Dow.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

flower 14Mrs. Marvarene Yount Partin, age 84, of Tullahoma, TN., passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN.

She was the daughter of the late Roscoe Thomas Yount and Louise Ragland Yount.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed embroidery and babysitting her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers.

She is survived by her husband Charles Partin, two brothers Howard Yount and Doyle Yount, brother and sister in law Norman and Katie Partin of Tullahoma, TN., special nieces Maxine Haley of Estill Springs and Diane Parks of Tullahoma, TN., and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 11 AM until 2 P M in the Chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home with Funeral Services beginning at 2 PM.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN.

Mr. Lonnie Ray Lee, age 67, of Tullahoma passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Winchester, TN to the late Girlie D. and Bobby Welch Lee. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Lee, two brothers, Don Lee and John Lee, sister, Jackie Louise Lee and a granddaughter, Netanya M. Acosta. Lonnie enjoyed riding motorcycles, managed his equestrian farm, Bridle Sweet Farms.

He loved his grandchildren and was very proud of his kids.

Funeral services for Mr. Lee will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 till 2:00 PM Sunday at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

He is survived by two daughters, Tina (Carlos) Acosta, Terry Chapman, son, Lonnie Ray Lee Jr., grandchildren, Alix Lee, Lonnie Ray Lee III, Teia Lee, Michael Clapsaddle, Mitchell Clapsaddle, Kyle Acosta, Shawn Acosta, sister in law, Lynda Lee, several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Chloe Mae Filson, age 67 of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed from this life on Sunday, November 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty years, George Filson, one son Keith Filson and wife Kimberly of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Filson, Kristin Filson, Spencer Raline, Abigail Raline, and two Goddaughters, Elizabeth Raline of Estill Springs, Tennessee, and Melodie Atchley and husband Adam of Huntsville, Alabama.

Mrs. Filson was a member of the Westwood Church of Christ in Tullahoma, Tennessee. She was a home health care nurse for many years. Chloe Mae enjoyed shopping for antiques and caring for others. She was a caring, loving person that spent most of her time caring for others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Chloe Mae Filson will be conducted on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Brother Paul Smithson and Brother John Daniel officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sartain Cemetery in Coffee County, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.

Dale Frame, age 66 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on November 29, 2014 at the St. Thomas-Rutherford Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Frame; parents, Lonnie Frame and Claytie Anderson Frame; daughter, Dala Frame-Elliott; and brother , Robbie Frame.

Dale is survived by his son, Shannon Dale “Tater Bug” Frame and his wife Angela of Tullahoma; daughter, Nicki Helms and her husband Jon of Manchester; six grandchildren, Schiler Frame, Shannah Frame, Lucas Frame, Dillon Helms, Nicholas Helms and Nathan Helms; three step-sons, Jerry Nunley of Chattanooga, Mark Nunley of Manchester and Chris Nunley of Grundy County, TN; two brothers, Billy Frame (Dottie) of Manchester and Jewell Frame (Debbie) of Manchester; two sisters, Dean Jones (Lonnie) of Alabama and Donna Smallwood (Mike) of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, friends and hundreds of “Ballpark Grandkids”.
