12/18/14 — TROY ALAN BROWN

TROY ALAN BROWN, age 50, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, December 15, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tenn. of complications from surgery.

Mr. Brown is a member and Deacon of the Estill Springs First Baptist Church.  He has been in law enforcement for approximately thirty years and was employed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.  He is a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Winchester Lodge #158.  He is a member of the Scottish Rite, and Shriner’s.  Fraternal Order of Police (FOP)  and an Honorably discharged U.S. States Army Veteran.  Mr. Brown was an AVID U.T. football fan.

He was a loving and devoted  husband, father and “DA” to his grandchildren.  One of his favorite things to do was watch his grandchildren play sports.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mildred Brown.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of thirty-two years, Dana Brown of Winchester, Daughters; Mandy Brown (Kojack Haney), Stephanie (Michael) Clark all of Estill Springs, Shelley (Oliver) Mikua of McMinnville.  Grandchildren; Karleigh, Kyleigh and Kameron Wells, Mookie, Kodie and Michael Haney, Zoie Dishroon, Derrick Clark, Braedon and Bella Mikua, Mother and Father-in-law Charles and Nelena Smith of Winchester.  Several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

Visitation for Mr. Brown is scheduled for 3:00-9:00 P.M. Wednesday evening, December 17, at the Christian Life Center Gymnasium at Estill Springs First Baptist Church.

Services for Mr. Brown will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 18, at the Christian Life Center with Bro. Jim Patton and Deacon Bill Snider officiating, Masonic Rites will be given at the Church Service.

Interment will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester with Military Honors and  Law Enforcement honors as well.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital by contacting Grant Funeral Services.

12/17/14 —- John Richard O’Connor

flower 13Beloved father, grandfather & great grandfather, John Richard O’Connor, 78, born in Somerville, MA and resident of Titusville, FL died on December 13, 2014 with his family at his side.

He is survived by his three children: John & wife Debbie O’Connor of Manchester, TN, Raymond & wife Patricia O’Connor of Manchester, TN, and Janet & husband Doug Baker of LaPlace, LA, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren with two on the way and a host of nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruby Nell Snow O’Connor, his parents, John & Helena O’Connor and granddaughter, Shannon O’Connor.

He was a parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

A visitation wil be held at North Brevard Funeral Home Tuesday, December 16, 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

The funeral Mass will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mims, FL on Wednesday, December 17 at 10:00 AM followed by the burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

12/19/14 —– Jean Hollingworth

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Hollingworth, age 73, of Hillsboro, TN will be conducted Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Jared officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery in Hillsboro, TN.

Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Hollingworth passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.

She was born March 28, 1941 in Chattanooga, Tennessee the daughter of the late Raymond Lonnie Morrison and Vera Christine Stone Morrison. Mrs. Hollingworth and her husband, John T. Hollingworth and their family moved to Coffee County from Painesville, Ohio in 1977. Mrs. Hollingworth was employed with PCA Industries for many years and enjoyed collecting porcelain baby dolls and crocheting. In earlier years, she loved flower gardening and cooking for her family. Most recently, she loved to play bingo, with her friends at the nursing home. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband, John T. Hollingworth, who recently passed away, September 8, 2014; she is preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Carolyn “Spooky” Williams, Sue Robinson, and Doris Flippo.

Survivors include three children, Ricky Hollingworth; Sharon Hollingworth Wilcox both of Hillsboro, TN; and Donna Hollingworth Jackson (Dennis Rogers) of Lynchburg, TN; three grandchildren, Racheal Gray (Coulter Gray) and Danielle Jackson and Chase Jackson; one great-grandson, Bryson Gray. Also surviving are three siblings, Wanda Lynch and Darlene Tracht ; and Mike Morrison and wife, Wanda of Chattanooga, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

12/18/14 —– Frederica “Ricki” Williams

WILLIAMS, Frederica “Ricki”, age 63, passed away into rest on December 16, 2014 at home with her family by her side.

She had served as the Business Manager for the Coffee County Board of Education since May 29, 1985 and was a member of the Summitville Church of Christ.

Ricki was preceded in death by her father, the late Melvin Eugene Freeze; sister-in-law, Pamela Nobles Freeze and great niece, Kesley Marie Freeze.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Jarrell Freeze of Manchester, TN; daughter, Holli D. Avans and her husband Steve of Manchester, TN; brother, Gregory Eugene Freeze of Manchester, TN; four grandchildren, Cadan, Connor, Carson, and Corbin Avans; an aunt, Jean Nobles Freeze; four nephews, Stan & Laura Freeze, Gary Freeze, Brad & Priscilla Freeze and Russ & Audra Freeze; four great-nephews, Zachary Freeze, Wyatt Akers, Jacob Freeze and Kaden Freeze; four great-nieces, Katlynn Freeze, Karleigh Freeze, Kristlyn Freeze and Linley Freeze; and a host of other relatives and friends.

12/18/14 —— Anita Jo Kirk

Born on December 19, 1960 in Smyrna, TN the daughter of Joe and Dorothy Kirk of Tullahoma.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Tullahoma.

She was preceded in death by her sister Rhonda.

Anita was an avid bowler and rarely missed a Tullahoma High School football, baseball or basketball game. She was a very caring and outgoing person that was always optimistic and happy. Anita loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother Tommy (Rita) of Tullahoma, TN. Aunts Sue Seaborn and Estelle Evans of Guin, AL, Carolyn (Johnny) Langley of Hamilton, AL and uncle Woody Crowe of Hamilton, AL. Also, many cousins and extended family members in Marion ,Lamar and Jefferson County, AL.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 1 pm Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church in Lamar County, AL with Bro. C.J. Townsend officiating.

12/16/14 — Patricia Ann Fuller

FE28_200x225Mrs. Patricia Ann Fuller, age 73, of Tullahoma passed away Saturday at Harton Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Manchester, TN to the late Wesley Lee Teal and Imogene Commings Thoe. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by two sisters, Jimmye Dupins, and Dale Scarly.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fuller will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery in Manchester.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 till 8:00 PM Monday at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (Mary Ann) Fuller, Christopher Fuller, daughter, Penny (Kevin) Clay, sisters, Bobbie Jean Baer, Robin Sprouse, Noradean Logsdon, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

12/16/14 —— Tammy Jo Lewis

Tammy Jo Lewis, of Tullahoma,passed this life on Thursday, December 11th, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 37.

Ms. Lewis was born in Tullahoma to the late Claborn T. Lewis and Betty Jo Rolman Lewis of Tullahoma who survives.

She was a member of Turkey Creek United Methodist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister, Carolyn Chapin of Moore County; two brothers, Mark Lewis and Chris Lewis, both of Moore County; two sons, Nathanel and Blake Lewis of Moore County; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation for Ms. Lewis will be held on Monday, December 15th, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Swinford officiating.

John L. Sullivan

Mr. John L. Sullivan passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his home following a long illness.

His daughter Lisa Needham of Van Buren, Arkansas lovingly recalls “my dad never complained and he was the hardest working man I ever knew”.

Memorial services will be planned at a later time in his home state of Oklahoma.

12/15/14 — ANITA LOUISE SMITH

ANITA LOUISE SMITH, age 67 of Cowan, Tenn. departed this life on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville from complications of Surgery.

She was born on October 21, 1947, in Mobile, Ala. to Ellen Vaughan Smith and the late Charles Houston Smith.

She is a 1965 graduate of Franklin County High School and attended MTSU where she earned a b.s. degree. Ms. Smith then attended Shelbyville Tech Center and Tennessee Tech Center in Murfreesboro. She was employed for several years at STRHS as a purchasing secretary. After leaving there she was employed as Director of Purchasing at Coffee County Medical Center in Manchester, Tenn. She then moved to Nashville and worked at the job she loved most, Open Arms Care in Brentwood as Manager of a Large Group Home for mentally and physically challenged adult males. Prior to retirement she moved back to Frflower 13anklin County and worked at Tepro, Inc. as an Inspector and Production Tech.

She is survived by her son, Lynn-Allen M. Smith and wife, Jennifer, mother, Ellen Smith, Brothers; Chuck Smith and Wayne (Sue) Smith, granddaughters; Briana Nicole Smith and Laura Ashlynn Smith al of Cowan. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous other family members.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 15, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services

Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 PM until service time at 6:00 PM  on Monday.

In lieu of flowers Ms. Smith’s wishes were that donations be made to Lynn-Allen’s Kidney transplant fund at Citizens Community Bank in Winchester or by contacting Grant Funeral Services.

Mrs. Christine Ray passed away Thursday at Fort Walton Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2014 in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Friday, December 19, 2014 at Tullahoma Funeral Home.
