1/3/15 — Clark Wayne Malone, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark Wayne Malone, Sr. age 71, of Manchester, TN, will be Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 12 Noon at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 2nd from 5 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Manchester.

Mr. Malone passed away at Centennial Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness.

Mr. Malone was born in Warren County, TN to the late William Claude and Rebecca Morris Malone.

He was self-employed and owner of Malone Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of the Mt. View Church of Christ. He also loved to play horseshoes, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Malone was devoted to his family and church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Malone.

Mr. Malone is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Neely Malone; three sons, Wayne (Phyllis) Malone, Jr. of Tullahoma, Daryl (Joy) Malone of Manchester, and Shannon (Paula) Malone of Manchester. Two brothers, Carson and Carl Malone of McMinnville; two sisters, Dean McCormick of Rock Island and Sue Hale of McMinnville; eight grandchildren, Michael, Adam, Allen, Sarah, Chelsea, Jordan, Faith and Amanda; five great grandchildren.

1/4/15 —- Connie Elva Dean Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Connie Elva Dean Jones, age 78, of Manchester will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015, at 2 pm at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 3 from 5 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Ragsdale Cemetery in Manchester.

Mrs. Jones passed away at her home after an extended illness surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Willie and Mary Ida Poff Rogers in Manchester.

She loved gardening, canning, and watching the game show network.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Jones is preceded in death by one son, Robert Douglas and four brothers, H.B., J.W., Jerry Lee, and Michael Rogers.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clyde Jones; two sons, Michael (Connie) Jones and Jerry Jones both of Manchester; two daughters, Patricia (Joseph) Jones of Hillsboro and Lorene Watts of Manchester; one brother A.C. Rogers of Manchester; one sister, Norma Jean Agents of Detroit, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

1/3/15 —– RALPH GLENN COOK

RALPH GLENN COOK, age 76, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at St. Thomas Rutherford County Hospital in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Cook was born in Harrison, Michigan to the late Arnold Lee Cook and Grace Gamble Cook.

Mr. Cook was retired from General Motors after approximately thirty years as an Automobile Inspector.  He attended the Estill Springs Nazarene Church.  Mr. Cook was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He loved deer hunting and going to antique car shows.  He was a loving and devoted;  husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Posey Cook of Winchester, daughters; Diane Eanes of Keego, Mich. Lynda Cook of Waterford, Mich., Sheila (Dennis) Womack of Estill Springs, Tenn., Sons; Roger (Eve) Kelley, Jr. of Davisburg, Mich., Jeffrey Kelley of Winchester, Tenn., brothers; Loren Cecil Cook of Pontiac, Mich., Marvin (Cindy) Cook of Auburn Hills, Mich., Bruce Cook of Harrison, Mich. Sisters, Dorothy (Dennis) Sanders of Auburn Hills, Mich. Karen Hoskins of Dickson, Tenn., grandchildren; Amanda and Heath Kelley, Jacob Eanes, Caitlin Kelley, Monica Kelley, Jordan Womack, Destiny Kelley, Paige Womack, Dustin Frame and Zack Womack.

Visitation for Mr. Cook will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services for Mr. Cook are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2015 in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Richard Reed and Pastor Matt Hasty, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Huntland.

1/3/15 —– Frankie Bailey Winton

 

Frankie Winton, age 106 of Morrison, Tennessee, passed away on December 29, 2014 at the NHC HealthCare Center in McMinnville.

She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a friend to many people and a member of the Viola Church of Christ.

She was born in Hillsboro, TN to her parents, the late John Owen Bailey and Betty Layne Bailey. Mrs. Winton was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Winton and sons-in-law, James Robert Howell, Sr. and Anthony Charles Heitzman, Sr.

She is survived by her three daughters, Joan Winton Howell of Dalton, Georgia, Joyce Winton Alverson (Dewey) of Gainesville, Georgia and Peggy Winton Heitzman of Lenoir City, Tennessee. Grandchildren, James Robert Howell, Jr.(Debbie) ,Tripp (Allison) and Tate; Chris Winton Howell (Karen), Madison and Matthew; Kelly McCormack (Thad), Ty, Matt, Carson and Drew; Dusty Alverson (Rena’), Chandler, Julia and Will; Margaret Whieldon (Jody), Joseph (Danielle) and Elizabeth; Anthony Charles Heitzman, Jr. (Melanie), Callie, Kaycee and Turner; Dantley Winton Heitzman (Corrine), Ryan, Hayden and Blake; and Olivia Ogle (Andy), Wyatt, Boone and Josie Wade. 1/2/15 —– Johnny Holt

Johnny Holt of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma.

He was the son of the late James William Holt and Rose Sneed Holt.

He was a Distillery Foreman retired from George Dickel after 39 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, electronics, gadgets and building computers.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Holt of Lynchburg, sons; Timothy Holt and his wife Melissa of Lynchburg, Ted Holt and his wife Tammy also of Lynchburg and Todd Holt and his wife Candace of Katy, Texas. Sisters, Martha Brazelton of Tullahoma and Bonnie Algood and her husband Bobby of Lynchburg. 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Davis.

The family will receive friends Friday January 2, 2015 from 11 AM until time of services beginning at 2 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Cemetery.

12/31/14 —— Nadine Riddle

Nadine Riddle, age 85 of Franklin, Tennessee and former, long time resident of Manchester, TN, passed away on December 28, 2014 at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville.

Mrs. Riddle was born in Langston, Alabama and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Riddle; daughter, Veta Carol Riddle; parents, Arthur P. and Daisy B. Chambers; brothers, Cecil Cornell Chambers of Ooltewah, TN and John Wayne Chambers of Manchester, TN; and sisters, Maxine Osteen of Brentwood, TN, Cleta May Anderson of Hillsboro, TN and Ada Kaye Shields of Pell City, AL.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa D. Riddle of Franklin, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of choice.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Central Funeral Home in Manchester, Tennessee.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Central Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ralph Hart and Brother Eddie Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

12/28/14 —— DANIEL RAY HERSHMAN

DANIEL RAY HERSHMAN, age 62, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life at his residence on Saturday, December 28, 2014.

Mr. Hershman was born in Adrian, Michigan to the late Taylor and Catherine Hershman.

After high school he graduated from Siena Heights College in Adrian, Michigan. He was a history teacher for many years at Adrian High School and also was employed at Sullivan Institute. Mr. Hershman has been disabled for approximately the past ten years. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Hersmans hobbies were reading and music.

He is survived by his sister, Denise Hershman-Launder and her husband David Launder of Winter Springs, Fla. and many cousins.

It was Mr. Hershman’s wishes that he be cremated and a private family memorial service is scheduled.

1/3/15 —- Pauline Martin Ray

Pauline Martin Ray, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, December 29th, 2014 at Life Care Center at the age of 83.

Mrs. Ray was born in Moore County, Tennessee to the late Floyd and Rosa Brandon Martin.

At different times during her life, she worked at Taylor’s Leatherwear, Tennessee Apparel, and at Wilson Sporting Goods as a ball sewer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Ray; one brother, Paul Martin; and one granddaughter, Treda Gail Ray.

Mrs. Ray is survived by two daughters, Edith Damron and her husband Jack of Tullahoma, and Leda Cooper and her husband Dale of Moore County; three sons, Larry Ray of Lynchburg, John David Ray and his wife Lisa of Shelbyville, and Virgil Ray and his wife Rhonda of Lynchburg; 12 grandchildren, Daphne May and her husband Greg, Heather Damron, Dave Cooper and his wife Jennifer, Pam Howard and her husband Brian, Michael Ray and his wife Shea, Sammy Ray, Scottie Ray, Dena Ray, Chris Ray, Chris Frame, Cameron Ray and his wife Michelle, and Kiley Ray and his wife Brandy; and 14 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Brodie, Tristan, Olivia, Hannah, Logan, Noah, Jessica, Andrew, Emily, Jordan, Chloe, Eli, and Landon.

Visitation for Mrs. Ray will be held on Friday, January 2nd, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Keasey officiating.

Burial will follow at Smith’s Chapel Cemetery in Moore County.

12/27/14 —– Glen Romero

Glen Romero, of Murfreesboro, passed this life on Saturday, December 27th, 2014 at his residence at the age of 44.

Mr. Romero was born in Bellflower, California to Leon and Armida Sandoval Romero.

He was a Service Coordinator with Seyi America and loved riding his motorcycle, as well as cooking.

Mr. Romero is survived by his parents, Leon and Armida Romero of La Habra Heights, California; three children, Darien, Conner, and Jeanne Romero all of Murfreesboro; his life partner, Rusty Hackett of Murfreesboro; his best friend, Dawn Romero of Murfreesboro; one granddaughter, Josephine Moore of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Robert and Lee Romero, both of La Habra Heights, California; and two sisters, Armi Romero Hathaway and Sandy Romero Ramirez, both of La Habra Heights, California.

It was Glen’s wishes that he be cremated, and no services are currently planned at this time.

flower 16Delores “Dorsey” B. Hastings, age 85 of Tullahoma, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 2, 2015 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home from 5 PM until 8 PM.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Lois Burger Ballard.

Delores originally worked for Southern Bell as a switchboard operator and this is where she met her husband, Bill. They were married September 03, 1949, and they remained married until Bill’s death in 2006.

During her years as a stay-at-home Mom, Delores (or Dorsey) was, first and foremost, a loving mother and wife and a kind and compassionate friend. She devoted her time to volunteer work with her children’s schools and activities. She was a member of several bowling teams and served on committees with Welcome Wagon clubs.

After caring for her dying mother, Delores began a second career as office manager and travel agent for “Travel First” in Tullahoma. She enjoyed visiting many places and meeting new friends. In the latter part of her life, Dorsey was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother known as “Nanny”. Her warm and gentle ways will be missed by family and friends alike.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bill R. Hastings, she was was preceded in death by three brothers, Rodney, William Ollie and Ronald Louis Ballard; one sister, Juanita Brassfield; grandson, Brett Allen Hastings and one sister-in-law, Lissa Ballard.

Mrs. Hastings is survived by one son, Bill Hastings and his wife, Gwen of Tullahoma; one daughter, Linda Hastings and her husband, Tom Vowell of Manchester; three grandchildren, Jennifer Moore and her husband, Jeff of Huntsville, Jared Hastings and his wife, Martha of Kingston Springs, TN and Ryan Vowell of Manchester; five great grandchildren, Cooper and Grady Moore, Charlotte and Amelia Hastings and Alex McClure; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ballard of Hillsboro and brother-in-law, Joe Brassfield, Hillsboro.
