5/15/15 —– GEORGE P. “JOHNNY” LUTTRELL, SR.

GEORGE P. “JOHNNY” LUTTRELL, SR., age 68, of Manchester, Tenn., departed this life, Monday, May 11, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Luttrell was born on May 2, 1947 in Winchester, Tenn., to the late Hubert and Bessie Bailey Luttrell.

He retired after 38 years of employment as a painter from Batesville Casket Company in Manchester, Tenn. Mr. Luttrell attended Impact Church of Murfreesboro. He enjoyed working with horses, gardening, cutting wood and landscaping.

Mr. Luttrell is survived by his sons; George Luttrell, Jr. of Manchester, Nathan Luttrell and his wife Anna Kunna of Shelbyville, grandchildren; Cody Luttrell, Brooke Luttrell and Cayli Luttrell, great-grandchildren; Addy Hollowell and Lenyx Luttrell, brother and sisters; Leon Luttrell and his wife, Shelley of Manchester, Nina Millrany and her husband, Donald of Winchester Springs Community, Opal Luttrell of Winchester, Marie Brandon of Bentonville, Ark., Jessie Smith and her husband, William of Winchester and Marion Luttrell of Portland, Tenn.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Grant Funeral Services.

Services will be held from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services on Friday, May 15, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor William Adcock, officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Huntland, Tenn.

5/13/15 — SHEILA GAIL HAWKINS

SHEILA GAIL HAWKINS, age 62, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Saturday, May 9, 2015, in Iuka, Mississippi from injuries sustained from an automobile accident.

Ms. Hawkins was born in Russellville, Alabama on March 7, 1954, to the late George and Ruby Mansell Hawkins.

She was a registered nurse at New Orleans Children’s Cancer Hospital before she became disabled. Ms. Hawkins was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons; David Stephens of Della, LA, Josh Stephens and his wife, Christy of Winchester, TN, Brad Stephens of Decherd, TN, grandchildren; Jeremy Flint, Dustin Howell, Chase Stephens, Chris Stephens, and expecting first granddaughter May 20th, Naomi Grace.

Visitation with family will be from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Grant Funeral Services.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Howard Riddle, officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.

5/14/15 —– Josephine D. Hunt

Josephine D. Hunt, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Sunday, May 10th, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center at the age of 68.

Mrs. Hunt flower 21was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Emil and Mary Bertin D’Herde.

During her life, she worked as a Dietician and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Mrs. Hunt was also a member and past president of the Highland Rim Kiwanis Club, and sang in the city Civic Choir.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hunt of Tullahoma; one son, Neal Hunt and his wife Jana of Mt. Juliet; one daughter, Carrie Boyett and her husband Robert of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers, Frank D’Herde and his wife Sara of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and Joseph D’Herde and his wife Mary Jane of Lapeer, Michigan; two sisters, RoseAnne Marcotte and her husband Mike of Lapeer, Michigan, and Margaret D’Herde of Sterling Heights, Michigan; four grandchildren, Hayden, Ethan, Garrett, and Morgan; and beloved family friend, Linda Moore.

Visitation for Mrs. Hunt will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 14th, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Stephen Klasek officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

5/15/15 — Harry Eugene Dillard

Funeral services for Mr. Harry Eugene Dillard, age 55, of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Elam officiating.

Burial will follow in Cypress Gardens in Manchester.

Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Dillard passed away at his residence, following an extended illness.

Harry was born in Manchester, TN, the son of the late Jake Dillard and Jewell Little Dillard, who survives.

He was previously employed at Daniel’s Lumber Yard.

In addition to his father, Harry was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jake Dillard, Jr. and David Dillard; and one sister, Forrestine Rowe.

In addition to his mother, Jewell Dillard, he is also survived by three brothers, Tom (Jeanette) Dillard of Bradyville, Melvin (Phyllis) and Dennis (Ann) Dillard, both of Cleveland, OH; four sisters, Nellie (Bobby) Battles of Morrison, Myrtle Dillard and Diane Dozier, both of Manchester, and Sarah Dillard, of Columbus, GA.

5/13/15 —- Patsy Glen Adams

Patsy Glen Adams, age 59, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday May 9, 2015 at her residence.

Patsy was a loving and caring woman who loved God, family and her friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Calvin Adams; parents Glendon Woosley and Freda Johnson; daughter Misty Johnson.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter Brandy (Don) Fowler; sister Nancy (Tom) Miller; grandchildren Zachery (Lara) Fowler, Johnathan Fowler, Chelsea Fowler and Tyler Fowler; great grandchildren Courtney Clardy and Eliah Fowler; extended grandchildren Blaine (Tisha) Brewer and Kris Henderson; 2 nieces.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her long time caregiver Linda Thomas for all the care, compassion and friendship.

The family will receive friends Tuesday May 12, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Tullahoma Funeral Home.

5/12/15 —- Jack Milton Boyer, Sr.

Funeral services for Jack Milton Boyer, Sr., age 95 of Manchester will be conducted Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM with Brother Jack Hice officiating.

Interment will follow at Manchester City Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM.

Mr. Boyer passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 in Manchester.

He was born June 27, 1919 in Collinsville, Illinois the son of the late Joseph Phillip Boyer and Stella Estelle Ogle Boyer.

He joined the United States Army March 5, 1941 and served two tours of duty during World War II, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, 6 Overseas Service Bars and 1 Service Stripe before being Honorably Discharged on April 8, 1945. Prior to joining the Army, Mr. Boyer met and married the love of his life, Catherine May and the two celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to her passing April 25, 2008.

Mr. Boyer was employed as a Pipefitter at Arnold Engineering and Development Center for many years prior to his retirement in April 1981. He was known by family and friends to have a knack for fixing things, especially items discarded by others. He had a giving heart and after repair of an item, he often donated the item to someone in need. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was a longtime member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church as well as Pipefitters Union # 572.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Catherine M. Boyer, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Cicro Boyer and Harry Boyer and a sister, Ruth Elizabeth Boyer.

Survivors include two sons, Milton Boyer and wife, LaVerne of Manchester and Joseph Boyer and wife, Vicki of Estill Springs, TN; four grandchildren, Azure Boyer Jones and husband, James; Ande Boyer (Cindy Arnold); Shannon Boyer Money and husband, Tommy; and Jennifer Hughes and husband, Roy; six great-grandchildren, Garrett Jones, Devin Jones, Patrick Jones, Catherine Money, William Money and Gavin Hughes. Also surviving is a niece, Cathy Boyer and a nephew, Don Boyer.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in honor of Mr. Boyer to the Alzheimer’s Association, 201 W. Lincoln Street, Tullahoma, TN 37388.

5/12/15 — BRANDY MICHELE WELCH

BRANDY MICHELE WELCH, age 24, of Winchester, Tenn. departed this life suddenly at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Winchester on Friday, May 8, 2015.

Brandy was “her mother’s heart and her sisters light”. She would light up a room with her smile. She loved to giggle and her favorite snack foods were Little Debbie Cakes. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Brandy was disabled.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Maternal Grandmother “Nana”.

She is survived by her mother, Jody Ashley and husband James of Winchester, father, John D. Welch of West Virginia, sister, Ashley Welch of Tullahoma, step-brother, Brandon Ashley of Winchester, maternal aunts; Rhonda Shelton, Patty Wilson and Jeannie Griffith, paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Welch, paternal aunts; Debbie Head, Patty Vanover all of Owensboro, Kentucky.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday evening, May 11, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Randy Jackson, officiating.

Angela Faye White, age 53 of Homer, Georgia and former Manchester, TN resident, passed away on May 7, 2015 in Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Rubin James Floyd and Elouise Walden Floyd; child, Shawn Gaither; brothers, John T. Floyd, Clifton Floyd, Carl Floyd, Wilburn Walden, Billy Floyd, Elmer “Buster” Floyd, Ronnie Lowery and Scott Floyd; and sisters, Lena Jones, Mary Phelps and Virginia Foster.

Angela is survived by her husband, Kevin L. 5/12/15 —- Wilson “Buddy” Benjamin Massey II

flower 11Mr. Wilson “Buddy” Benjamin Massey II, age 57, a former resident of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at NHC of Murfreesboro.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 12 at 2 PM at the Lynchburg Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Leo Bechard officiating.

Burial will follow at Lynchburg Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 12 PM until the service time.

A native of of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Wilson B. and Sarah Lee Pyrdum Massey.

He graduated from Central High School in Fayetteville and was a member of Wells Hill Church of Christ in Fayetteville. He worked as a Security Guard for Frito Lay and Jack Daniel’s.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one half-brother, Danny.

Mr. Massey is survived by one sister, Joyce Moorehead and her husband, Dwain of Murfreesboro; two nephews, Jamison Moorehead and his wife, Jamie and John Moorehead and his wife, Kim, both of Murfreesboro and three great nephews, Brandon, Tylar and Tristan Moorehead.

5/11/15 —- Evelyn Kyle Eoff

Evelyn Kyle Eoff, 96, of Tullahoma, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on her 96th birthday, May 7, 2015.

Evelyn was the youngest daughter born to the late Charles Smith Kyle and Isabelle Edge Kyle on May 7, 1919.

She grew up on her family’s farm 4 miles outside of Lebanon, TN, graduated from Lebanon High School, and attended Nashville Business College. She worked as a secretary in Lebanon when she met the late James Clair Eoff Jr., who was a student at Cumberland University in Lebanon, whom she married on November 7, 1944 for a wonderful happy marriage of 52 years. After her husband’s service in the US Navy following World War II, they settled in his hometown, Tullahoma, TN where his family were life-long residents. Clair Eoff was principal of East Lincoln Elementary School for 5 years before joining First National Bank for a 45-year career in banking. He was eventually promoted to president, then chairman of the board, and served as chairman emeritus until his death in 1996.

Evelyn, affectionately known by her family and close friends as “Meme”, lived a fruitful and happy life of 96 years. She was highly admired for her wisdom, humor, encouragement, and deep love of her family and friends. Evelyn was best known for her positive attitude and contagious laugh. She inspired countless people with her optimism and passion for life, which were based on her strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the providence of God, and His promises in the Holy Bible. She continually reminded all her family and friends that “things always work out for the best.” She not only believed and professed Romans 8:28 but lived it and practiced it through her optimistic lifestyle: “We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Evelyn was an active member of First Methodist Church, Lakeland Country Club, the Tullahoma Woman’s Club, and several bridge clubs. She was very active in her children’s school activities and their PTA’s. She was also an excellent cook and known for her famous creamed corn, roasted turkey, and dressing, which she made on special occasions, like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Evelyn’s favorite hobbies were golf, bridge, travel, and attending University of Tennessee football games. She played golf twice a week until she was 81, and played bridge twice a week until this past winter. She also enjoyed watching sporting events on TV, especially UT football and Lady Vols basketball, Monday night pro-football, and golf events.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter Evelyn “Lyn” Eoff Bass, her husband of 52 years James Clair Eoff Jr., her older sister Mary Belle Kyle Young, two older brothers George Martin Kyle and J. B. Kyle, and her parents Charles Smith Kyle and Isabelle Edge Kyle.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Dr. James Clair Eoff III & his wife, Ann of Germantown, TN; her son-in-law, Dr. A. Paul Bass III & his wife Judy of Tullahoma, TN; six grandchildren: Claire Bass Bobo and her husband Andy Bobo of Tullahoma, TN; Lyndsay Kyle Bass of Tullahoma, TN; Whitney Bass Newton and her husband Cameron Newton of Tullahoma, TN; William Edward Eoff and his wife Amy Eoff of Germantown, TN; James Alan Eoff of Memphis TN; and Joseph Wesley Eoff and his wife Anna Eoff of Lynchburg, VA; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Madelyn Claire Bobo, John Alexander Bobo, Samuel Neece Bobo, Taylor McLayne Bobo, Peyton Ryan Bell, Preston Riley Bell, Hudson Cash Newton, and Colton Cameron Newton Anna Virginia Eoff, Adam Oliver Eoff, Alex Edison Eoff, Laila Virginia Eoff, and Laith Gabriel Eoff.

Visitation will be at Kilgore Funeral Home, 215 Mitchell Blvd, flower 24Tullahoma, TN from 5-7 PM on Sunday, May 10, 2015.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 208 West Lauderdale at the corner of South Jackson Street in Tullahoma, at 1 PM on Monday, May 11, 2015.

Pallbearers are John T. Bobo, Mike Brice, Joe Lester, Dan Marcum, Don Ray, John Shipp, Dick Slater, Brac Thoma, and Darrell Williams.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made either to the Lynn Eoff Bass fund at First United Methodist Church of Tullahoma, TN or the James Clair Eoff Jr. Scholarship Endowment at Motlow Community College.
