6/18/15 —- Clara V. Carr
Clara V. Carr, age 80 of Normandy, Tennessee passed away, Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Heritage Medical Center in Shelbyville.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, June 18 at 2 PM at Green Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, June 18 from 12 PM – 1:30 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carr was a native of the Hoodoo Community of Coffee County. She enjoyed taking care of her pets and feeding the birds. She also enjoyed sewing and watching horror movies on TV. In addition she was a caregiver for many family members thru the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Carl; her father, Johng Frizzell, her mother, Bessie Messick Parker and step-father, Albert Parker and half-brother, Howard Frizzell.
She is survived by two daughters, Mitzi Underwood of Tullahoma and Gina McCorkle and her husband, Bill of Chattanooga and one grandchild, Carla Chu of Tullahoma.
6/18/15 —- Malvin ‘Dean’ Burnet
Malvin ‘Dean’ Burnet, age 84 of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday June 16, 2015 at Lynchburg Nursing Center.
Dean was a member of First Baptist Church Shelbyville and was a retired air traffic controller.
He is preceded in death by his parents George Thomas and Essie Ann; sisters Hazel, Jean, Elsie, Ethel and Lillian; brothers Barry, Frank and Joe.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years Margaret ‘June’ Burnett; daughter Leslie Kimberly and husband Lawrence Garner; sons Larry Dean Burnett and wife Linda and George Ronnie Burnett; granddaughters Chelsea Adams and M’Lynn Miller; sister Ann Marshall.
The family will receive friends Wednesday June 17, 2015 from 6 pm-8 pm at Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Thursday June 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with and interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

6/18/15 —– Charlie Marshall
Charlie Marshall, 80, of Tullahoma, passed away on Sunday, June 14th at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma .
A life-long resident of Tullahoma, Charlie was born in Ducktown TN on January 27th, 1935 to the late William Robert and Ebba Skullman Marshall.
Charlie graduated from Tullahoma High School in 1953 and attended the University of Tennessee where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Charlie graduated from the University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis in 1960. On October 8th, 1960, Charlie married Tullahoma native Sarah Shapard. After the wedding, Charlie and Sarah moved to Mineral Wells, TX where Charlie served as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corp.
After completing his military service, Charlie returned to his native Tullahoma and built a successful dental practice while also continuing his ancestral background of serving the community. As the great grandson of Tullahoma’s first elected mayor, William Alexander Marshall, he had a passion for public service. In 1979, Charlie was elected to serve as a Tullahoma City Alderman and did so with distinction. Charlie’s interest in education can be traced back to his grandfather, William Robert Marshall, who served as Chairman of the school board for several years. Charlie served multiple terms on the Tullahoma School Board and served as Board Chairman in 1984 – 1988. During his time on the school board, Tullahoma City Schools were continuously ranked as one of the top school systems in the state of Tennessee. Charlie also served on the Tullahoma Utilities Board.
Charlie was an avid golfer at Lakewood Country Club and proud supporter of the University of Tennessee football team and men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Charlie is lovingly remembered for his devotion and support of his four children. He traveled across the southeast attending countless swim meets, football games, gymnastic competitions, basketball games, golf tournaments, cross country meets and baseball games all while meeting the demands of his profession and public service.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife Sarah, his four children: Marilyn (Marty) Gulley of Tullahoma TN, Bob (Lea Ann) Marshall of Signal Mt. TN, Emily (Danny) Owens of Tullahoma TN, Bill (Michelle) Marshall of Nashville TN; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie (Crawford) Parrish, David Burns, Sarah Burns, Robert Marshall, Parker Marshall, Meg Marshall, Lily Marshall, Natalie Rayfield, Jill Rayfield, Izzy Marshall, Abby Marshall and Charlie Marshall and one great grandchild, Crawford Lee Parrish III (Tripp).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 17th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, June 18th at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church.

6/22/15 —– LARRY TYUS
LARRY TYUS, age 68, of Winchester, Tenn. departed this life on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Southern TN Regional Health Systems Winchester, Tenn., losing his courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Tyus was born in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Hanford Tyus and Pauline Hill Tyus Roberson.
Mr. Tyus was of the Methodist faith. He was a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran for eight years serving his country in the Vietnam War. He was employed for approximately 35 years in Civil Service at Robbins Air Force Base before his retirement. His hobbies were scuba diving, fishing, and snow skiing. He was a private airplane pilot and a craftsman. Most of all he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and brother. He never met a stranger and was admired by all who knew him.
Mr. Tyus was preceded in death by his sister, Phoebe Roberson and nephew Charles Harris Tyus, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Beautye Tyus of Winchester, son, Landon Tyus and wife, Tabitha of Kathleen, Ga., Daughter, Miyon Tyus of Lawrenceville, Ga, brothers, Charles Tyus and wife, Gayle of Tallassee, Ala., Jimmy Tyus of Huntsville, Ala., Jackie Tyus of Lincoln, Ala. Sisters; Mary Hassey of Wetumtka, Ala., Jody McCuiston and husband Phil, Kathy Jones and husband, Buddy all of Huntsville, Ala., Alicia Pettis and husband, Roy, of Gurley, Ala. 12- Nieces and nephews and 10- Great- nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 22, 2015, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.

Bobby Dean Millsap, age 79 of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Symphony of Joliet.
Bobby was born in Winchester, TN to the late Buford Allen and Annie Marie (nee Waggoner) Millsap.
Beloved husband of Virginia Ruth (nee Guess); loving father of Sandra D. (Bob F. Jr.) Flowers and Dustin B. (Sandra L.) Millsap; cherished grandfather of Robert F. Flowers III, Victoria E. Flowers, Cody Dean Millsap, and Noah A. Millsap; dear brother-in-law of Charlsie L. (the late Kenneth) McAfee.
Bobby was a graduate of Moore County High School, TN, and was an Automation Tender for Ford Motor Company for 33 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of UAW Local 588, a member of Lighthouse Fellowship Church, Frankfort, IL and a member of Marble Plains Baptist Church, Winchester, TN.
The family will receive friends at Watson-North Funeral Home, Winchester, TN on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5pm – 9pm.

6/16/15 — Mark William Lock
Mark William Lock, infant son of Brittany Adams and Zachary Lock of Tullahoma passed this life on Thursday, June 11th, 2015 at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
Mark was welcomed into Heaven by his grandfather, Mark Adams and his great-grandfather Edward Dobbs.
In addition to his loving parents, Mark is survived by his sister Bella Adams of Tullahoma; grandparents Christy E. Adams of Tullahoma, and Bill and Karen Lock of Tullahoma; great-grandparents Rebecca Carlyle of Bel Air, MD, Richard and Lorna Mitchell of Huntsville, AL, and Homer and Margaret Adams of Tullahoma; two uncles, Caleb Adams of Tullahoma, and Patrick Lock of Reno, NV; cousin Hailey Adams of Tullahoma, and numerous other extended family members.
A graveside service for Mark will be held on Tuesday, June 16th, 2015 at 11:00am at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Troy Deaton officiating.

6/15/15 — Bertha Irene Dawson Rigney
Bertha Irene Dawson Rigney, age 73 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on June 12, 2015 at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga after an extended illness.
Born in Gaylord, Michigan, she had worked as a Manufacturing Machinist; was a homemaker; and enjoyed playing cards with her family, as well as, flower gardening.
Mrs. Rigney was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Calvert-Rigney; parents, George Freeman Dawson and Lucy Winters Dawson; six brothers and seven sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Homer Rigney of Manchester, TN; daughter, Laura Rigney Davis of Deerfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Nick) Seagle of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Leslie Davis of Deerfield, OH; one sister, Martha (Tom) Bailey of Copley, OH; and a host of other relatives and friends.

STEVEN NIKOMA COKER, age 30, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Winchester.
Mr. Coker was a commercial electrician. He was a car enthusiast and loved to watch movies. Mr. Coker enjoyed to be around children and had a fondness for fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Denise (Minor)Coker.
Mr. Coker is survived by his father, Phillip Coker of Estill Springs, Tenn., step-mother, Donna Archey of Estill Springs, Tenn., fianc’ee, Julie Crow of Winchester, Tenn., son, Nikoma Coker of Winchester, Tenn., brothers; Shane Coker of Nashville, Tenn., Samuel Coker of Estill Springs, Tenn., maternal grandfather, Donald Minor, Sr. of Winchester, Tenn., paternal uncle, Kenneth Coker of Estill Springs, Tenn., paternal aunts; Sherry Ann Ray of Estill Spings, Tenn., Karen Darlene Williams and her husband, Clayton, maternal uncles; Donald Minor, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, Darren Minor and his wife, Sherrie all of Winchester, Tenn., Dale Minor of Decherd, Tenn., several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Joshua Thomas Hardwick, age 20 of Hillsboro, Tennessee passed from this life on June 8, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Joshua was preceded in death by his mother Anna Marie Hardwick.
He is survived by one brother, Jerad Hardwick of Hillsboro, Tennessee, grandmother, Darleen Hardwick of Hillsboro, Tennessee, step-grandfather, Richard Etter of Hillsboro, Tennessee, aunt, Amber Hardwick Waring of Manchester, Tennessee, step-aunt, Rachel Sutton of Minnesota, uncle, Arthur Hardwick of Hillsboro, Tennessee, step-uncle, Miles Etter of Manchester, Tennessee.
Joshua was born in Adrian, Michigan. He enjoyed playing guitar and loved music. He won many awards thru the Special Olympics program and enjoyed helping others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Private Graveside Services for Joshua Thomas Hardwick will be conducted on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Concord Cemetery, Tullahoma, Tennessee with Brother Benny Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow.

Mr. Randall Lamar Howard, age 65, of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
A memorial service to be held in Macon, Georgia will be announced at a later date.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Prince Howard and Lillian Powell Howard.
Mr. Howard is survived by his son, Shawn Bradshaw of Navarre, Florida; one brother, Kinley W. Howard, Sr. and his wife Dana of Pensacola, Florida; one nephew, Kinley W. Howard, Jr. of Defuniak Springs, Florida; one niece, Lauren Sheree Howard of San Diego, California and one great niece Jamie Lynn Howard of Thompston, Georgia.
Randall was a song writer and recording artist.
