10/3/15 — John Tucker Jr.
John Tucker Jr., died in his home on September 30, 2015 in Burns, TN due
to complications from an extended illness at the age of 81. Mr. Tucker
was born on May 17, 1934 in Tullahoma, TN to his parents, the late John
and Josephine Tucker. He graduated from Tullahoma High School in 1953 and
married his wife of 55 years, Johnnie C Keller the same year. Mr. Tucker
retired in 1993 from the Newspaper Printing Corporation where he worked
for 40 years. Mr. Tucker was a great father, grandfather and friend and
was loved by many. He loved and spent many enjoyable hours working in
his 4 acre yard where he was the “zookeeper” for a host of wild animals.
It was not uncommon for wild squirrels to take crackers from his bare
hand. Mr. Tucker is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Christy and
Steve White of Kingston Springs, TN; his son and daughter-in-law, John
and Lesa Tucker of Germantown, TN: two brothers, Ken and Gary Tucker; one
sister, Shirley Messick; four grandchildren, Brad White, Kyle White,
Whitt Tucker, and Clay Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews. In
addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie
Tucker. Visitation for Mr. Tucker will be held on Friday, October 2nd,
from 5:00 to 8:00 at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held
on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Paul Purdue officiating. Burial will take place at Rose
Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma immediately following the funeral
service. Pallbearers will be Ron Mayes, Steve Mayes, Alex Mayes, Carl
Brandt and Ross Hatfield.

10/2/15 — Ernest Robinson
Graveside services for Mr. Ernest Robinson of Beechgrove, TN, will be
conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Bivens Cemetery. Mr.
Robinson passed away Wednesday evening at Manchester Healthcare.
Ernest was born in Christiana, TN, the son of the late Tommy and Emma
Maxwell Robinson. He was a sawmill operator for Buck Alford Sawmill and a
member of Little Hurricane Baptist Church. Ernest enjoyed singing, playing
banjo, and loved to collect baseball cards.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was also preceded in death by six
brothers, Bobby, Robert, Buddy, Jessy, Vernie, and Frankie Robinson; and one
sister, Mary Lee Brown. He is survived by one brother, Amos Robinson of
Manchester; and one sister, Helen Locke.

10/3/15 — Michael Lee Throneberry
Michael Lee Throneberry, age 59 of Tullahoma passed away Monday September 28,
2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center. Michael was born in Coffee Co., to the late R.L. and Juanita Throneberry. He was a former employee of the Tullahoma City School system.
He is survived by three daughters, Lynnette Sherrill, Lisa Tant, Jennifer Throneberry, brother, John Throneberry, sisters, Marsha Hill, Shelia Luttrell, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, at Victory Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Lambert officating. Visitation with the family will be held an hour before the service at the church.

10/2/15 — James Leo Lafferty
Memorial services for Mr. James Leo “Jim” Lafferty, age 93 of Winchester will be conducted Friday, October 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Winchester with Father Jean Baptiste Kyabuta officiating. Mr. Lafferty passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Willows of Winchester.
He was born July 23, 1922 in Jersey City, New Jersey the son of the late James and Helen Lafferty. After high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served his country until March 31, 1941 where he was honorably discharged with the rank of Private. He resided most of his life in Carteret, New Jersey with his beloved wife, Helen. Jim and Helen were married on January 6, 1945 and spent 59 years together prior to her passing on February 2, 2004. Following her death, Jim moved to Winchester in 2006. In earlier years, he was employed in engineering sales but his real passion in life was music. Jim was extremely gifted and could play most instruments, a requirement of his mother during his childhood years. He attended the world renowned Juilliard School of Music in New York City. He was most accomplished in playing the accordion and the piano, which he loved. His talents led Jim to starting the band “The Stardusters” which performed big band music for special events such as parties and bar mitzvah’s. The Stardusters were very popular and performed with Frank Sinatra as well as other big names of the day.
In more recent years, Jim still enjoyed entertaining others while playing the piano at the Franklin County Country Club where he was a member as well as at the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center. Everyone who knew “Mr. Jim”, as he was affectionately called, loved him and he and his music will be forever missed by all. He was also a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Winchester.
He is survived by three children, Robert “Bob” Lafferty and wife, Phyllis of Winchester, TN; James Lafferty of Woodbridge, NJ and Patricia Kelemen of Rahway, NJ and six grandchildren.

10/01/15 – Donald Clark Todd
Donald Clark Todd, age 74, passed away on September 27, 2015 at his home in Manchester, Tennessee.
Mr. Todd retired from the Arnold Engineering Development Center (A.E.D.C.) after serving 38 years as a Mathematician in Aerospace Research. He was a member of the United Church of God and will be fondly remembered as one who was deeply committed to his faith in God and his family. He enjoyed “family” day every week, scrabble, puzzles, chess, making jokes and reading.
Mr. Todd was preceded in death by his first wife, Niki Laurel Haughton Todd in 1984; and parents, Dan Clark Todd and Allie Ruth Rogers Todd. He is survived by his wife, Brenda June Messamore Todd of Manchester, Tenn.; son, George C. Todd of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, Mary R. Todd and June A. Baker (Jonathan) of Manchester, Tenn.; sister, Virginia J. Veach of McMinnville, Tenn.; one grandson, Jacob Andrew Baker of Manchester, Tenn.; niece, Crystal Malone; nephew, Russ Veach; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

9/30/15 — Howard Lee Houck
Mr. Howard Lee Houck of Tullahoma passed this life on Sunday, September
27th, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center at the age of 68. Mr.
Houck was born November 4th, 1947 in Summitt, NJ to the late Howard
Wesley and Doris Jean Kaelin Houck. Mr. Houck served his country as a
United States Marine during the Vietnam War, and was a long-time resident
of New Jersey who loved fishing, the outdoors, Harley-Davidson
motorcycles, and most of all, his family. Mr. Houck is survived by his
three children, Jason Houck of Tullahoma, Jessica Sanders and her husband
James of Tullahoma, and Casey Houck and his wife Megan of Lascassas, TN;
three grandchildren, Natalie Richard, Landon Sharp, and Henleigh Houck;
one sister, Diane Murin of Basking Ridge, NJ; two nieces, Kelli Steinkopf
and her husband Randy, and Lisa Ann Massengale and her husband David; two
great-neices, Kayla and Lauren Steinkopf; one great-nephew, Jack Daly;
and numerous cousins. Visitation for Mr. Houck will be held !

9/29/15 — Jeffery Ronald Damron
Jeffery Ronald Damron, of Manchester, passed this life on Saturday,
September 26th, 2015 at the age of 61. Mr. Damron was born in Coffee
County to the late Robert J. and Brownie L. Adcock Damron. During his
life, he worked in General Labor at Carrier. In addition to his parents,
Mr. Damron is preceded in death by one sister, Judy Gilliam; and three
brothers, Jimmy, John Robert and Jerry Damron. He is survived by his wife
Debra Damron of Manchester; one daughter, Sonia Todd of Tullahoma; four
brothers, Joe Damron and his wife Ruth, Jack Damron and his wife Edith,
Justin Damron and his wife Cathy, and Jent Damron and his wife Linda, all
of Tullahoma; one sister, Janice LaCook of Lynchburg; and three
grandchildren, Cody Gann, Jeremiah Johnson, and Shaylyun Todd. Visitation
will be held on Monday, September 28th, 2015 at Kilgore Funeral Home from
5:00-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 29th,
2015 at 2:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Nave

9/28/15 — Thakorbhai Patel
Funeral services for Mr. Thakorbhai Patel, age 70 of Manchester will be conducted Monday, September 28, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.
Thakorbhai was born February 2, 1945 in Nairobi, Kenya the son of the late Naranbhai Patel and Bai lakhiben Patel. Thakorbhai resided in Kenya until the age of 18 when he moved to England, then to Canada and in 1979 to the United States. He met his wife, Laxmiben Patel while in India and the two married and began their family. Upon moving to Manchester in 1979, he purchased the “8 Inn” motel, which he owned and operated until the late 1980’s and then sold. He then purchased Bill’s Liquor Store in Manchester, which the family still owns and operates today. Thakorbhai was a loving husband and father throughout his life and was remembered by his sons as being strict while they were growing up. When his first granddaughter was born two years ago, all of that strictness changed into sweetness for his sweet Addyson. He loved spending time with her and his family. He also had a passion for gardening which is represented at his home throughout his yard.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Dipan Patel who passed away August 8, 2013.
Survivors include his loving wife, Laxmiben Patel of Manchester; three sons, Yogesh “Yogi” Patel of Manchester; Bhaves “Bobby” Patel and wife, Lindsey Adcock Patel of Manchester and Nilesh Patel and wife, Smita Patel also of Manchester; special granddaughter, Addyson Patel of Manchester and three sisters and six brothers and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Donald Wayne Lannan
Donald Wayne Lannan, known as “Don” by family and friends, age 83 of Manchester, passed away peacefully Friday, September 25, 2015 at Bailey Manor in Manchester.
Don was born May 6, 1932 in Hammond, IN the son of the late Joseph Raymond Lannan and Lila Illinois Ellis Lannan. He graduated Hammond High School in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Army where he spent three years and was honorably discharged February 1, 1954. He then enrolled in chiropractic school at Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, MO. While attending school, he met his future bride, Miss Anna Hall, from Tennessee, who was also there fulfilling school duties to become a registered nurse. Upon completion of school, Don and some buddies decided to go to California. Anna soon flew to California to visit and they married on November 7, 1960. The couple resided in Novato, CA until 1965 when they moved to Tullahoma, TN where Don began a new career with Sear’s Catalog Sales. Due to his career in sales, the couple and their children moved frequently. While residing in Conyers, Georgia Don was actively involved in his children’s activities and was instrumental in starting the Rockdale Soccer League. The family then moved to Griffin, Georgia where they spent several years. In 1988, the family moved back to Manchester, TN where Don began perusing his love for plants and trees. He held the honor of being a “Master Gardner” and the family’s home place became a showplace of unusual plants and trees. He taught his four children many species of plants and trees and thought this gave them a knowledge they may not have learned in school. He also built a number of bluebird houses found on the greenway in Manchester for all to enjoy. Don was also known to have a interesting quirk of writing a date on everything purchased or acquired by the family. He was an avid reader and a member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Lannan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Ann Hall Lannan of Manchester; four children, Shawn Wayne Lannan of Williamson, GA, Gavin Joseph Lannan of Manchester, TN, Jill Lannan Kellogg and husband, Todd of Murfreesboro, and Kim Lannan also of Murfreesboro, TN; eight grandchildren, Lyla Lannan, Layton Lannan, Hannah Lannan, Logan Boatman, Ryan Kellogg and Rachel Kellogg and Mallory Moore and Kera Moore; and one great granddaughter, Kyla Lannan. Also surviving is a sister, Joan Lannan Blanchette of Lynwood, IL.

Aaron Herman Sterling Williams Sr., age 70 of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed
away, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, October 3 from 12:00 PM to 2
PM with funeral services at 2 PM at Family Revival Center at 1201 E. Lincoln Street, Tullahoma, Tennessee with Rev.
Lance Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Williams, a native of Tullahoma, was the son of the late Hazel Augusta
and Maggie Estelle White Williams. He worked as an Instrument Technician
at ARO before retirement and then worked at Walmart. Mr. Williams was an
elder and pastor at Faith Temple Community Church of God in Christ. He was
a saxophone player and enjoyed tinkering around with electronic instruments
such as organs and keyboards. He was an avid reader.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dewayne
Thomas and one brother, Gifford Allen Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Clydia Williams of Tullahoma; two sons, Aaron
H. Sterling Williams Jr and his wife, Tammy of Tullahoma and John Abraham
Williams of Tullahoma; two daughters, Osha Williams Whaley and her husband,
Kenneth of Tullahoma and Tamara William Harp and her husband Jerrode of
Orlando, FL; three brothers, Lester Williams and his wife, Marilyn of
Atlanta, GA, Eltanyia Skip Williams of Murfreesboro and Bernard Paul of
Shelbyville; two sisters, Stephanie Cherry of Shelbyville and Tonka
Gruenberg and her husband, Brian of Tullahoma; fourteen grandchildren; two
plus one on the way, great grandchildren; good friends, Rev. Lance Shelton
of Tullahoma, Pastor Clifton Braden of Cleveland, TN and Elder Willie
