8/27/16—Benjamin Todd Cox
Funeral services for Benjamin Todd Cox, age 35 of Summitville, will be conducted on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 5:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Tom Scullin officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on August 27, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Ben passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
Ben enjoyed tinkering on cars and lawnmowers, bowling and fishing. He had a kind heart, and would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survived by his father, Steve Cox; mother, Gloria Cox; grandparents, Esco and Betty Cox, Aubry and Lorenia McGhee; brother, Steven Cox; sister, Jill Martin (Kevin), Ruthie Fann; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

8/27/16—Henry Charles Edwards
Mr. Henry Charles Edwards
Graveside services for Mr. Henry Charles Edwards, age 70 of Murfreesboro
will be conducted at 11:00am, Saturday, August 27 at the Wesley Chapel
Cemetery in Viola, Tennessee with Chuck Myers officiating. Mr. Edwards
departed this life Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Northside Health Care
Center in Murfreesboro.
Mr. Edwards was born in Smyrna, Tennessee the son of the late Henry S.
and Minnie R. Patterson Edwards. Charles was a retired construction
worker and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He and his wife
were members of the Standing Stone Chapel in Rutherford County. In
addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by two
sisters, Judy Small and Kathy Barnes. His survivors are:

8/29/16—Jennie Lucille Bailey
Jennie Lucille Bailey, 95, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at
Brookdale Assisted Living in Tullahoma. Services are scheduled for Sunday,
August 28, 2016 at 2 PM at Little Hurricane Church, 1210 Little Hurricane
Road, Winchester, TN 37398 with burial to follow at Little Hurricane
Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 PM till the service
time.
Mrs. Bailey was an antique dealer and enjoyed refinishing furniture. She
was a member of the Little Hurricane Church where she played piano for over
50 years. She also taught singing. She was an excellent country cook and
enjoyed baking chocolate pies and delivering them to anyone who was sick or
had lost a family member.
Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Clint Bailey.

8/27/16 — Randy Lee Dietz
Randy Lee Dietz was born in St. Louis, Illinois, to the late Robert and
Justine Dietz. He worked at the skills development center of Tullahoma
before retiring. Preceded in death by a brother; Chester Dietz. Survived
by two sisters; Becky and Susan Dietz, and special friends; Connie
Norton and Sandy Anderson. He was affiliated with the Trinity Lutheran
Church of Tullahoma, an avid Titan’s and Vol’s fan, enjoyed four
wheeling and golf.

8/26/16 — Lucy Doris Hise Johnston
Lucy Doris Hise Johnston, 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at
Bailey Manor in Manchester. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday,
August 26, 2016 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with
Bro. Doug Hankin officiating. Burial will follow at Lynchburg
Cemetery. Visitation
with the family will be from Noon until the service time.
A native of the Raus Community, she was the daughter of the late William
Riley and Jessie Mai Wiseman Burgess. She was a member of the Thompson
Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnston retired from Jack Daniels after a
nineteen year career. She was a resident of Lynchburg for many years and
enjoyed gardening and watching the birds and squirrels in her yard. She
also enjoyed traveling and quilting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Lawrence
Thomas Hise and Charles Francis Johnston; two brothers, Earl Burgess and
Marion Burgess and one sister, Loreen Coker.
She is survived by one son, Charles Larry Johnston of Tullahoma; three
daughters, Sharon Robeson and her husband, Larry of Murfreesboro, Gay Davis
and her husband, James “Buster” and Kay Chenault and her husband, Allen
of
Manchester; one brother, Roy C Burgess of Mississippi; twelve
grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and special friend, Cathy Prater
of Flat Creek.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bailey Manor for the loving
care and support they extended to Mrs. Johnston and her family.

8/27/16 — Ina Sue Littleton Turner
Manchester, TN resident and Roane County, TN native Ina Sue Littleton Turner, age 78, was born March 13, 1938 and died August 15, 2016 at her son’s residence in Manchester following an extended illness.
A homemaker and member of Christian Church Disciples, she was preceded in death by parents, John J. and Abby Mae Johnson Littleton. She was married to Everett Eugene Turner who preceded her in death March 13, 2002. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Velma “Coda” Sumner.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joel E. and Kim Turner of Montgomery, AL, John Alan and Robi Turner of Manchester and Nathan E. Turner of Franklin, TN; daughter, Abigail Turner of Franklin, TN; six grandchildren, Amy M. Renner, Casey Stolinsky and husband Kevin, Megan Ann Turner, Lauren N. Turner, William Everett Eason, and Margaret Elizabeth Eason; nephew, Steven Sumner of Knoxville, TN; niece, Sue Ann McCoy of Knoxville, TN; and several great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Bascom Cemetery, Warren County, TN with Rev. Sandra Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at High’s.

8/25/16 — John Martin Scoggins, Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. John Martin Scoggins, Sr., age 96 of Manchester, will be conducted on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Farrar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Mr. Scoggins passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Horizon Health and Rehab.
Mr. Scoggins loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. Also, a member of the Civilian Conservation Core from 1939-1940. He was a United States Army veteran serving from 1942-1945. He was a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. After retirement as a carpenter in 1977, John spent his time as a church volunteer, fishing and traveling.
Preceded in death by his parents, John William and Susan Ellaphair “Elle” Stevens Scoggins; his loving wife, Jennie V. Scoggins; sons, Kenneth Dudley, James Wayne Scoggins, Jerald Frederick Scoggins; brothers, Benjamin Franklin Scoggins, Claude Audrey Scoggins; sisters, Minnie Scoggins, Bertha Mae Hollingsworth, Ora Belle Hollingsworth, Gladys Clyde Clawson; granddaughter, Melody Fannin. Sondra “Nichole” Reid, a resident of Winchester, TN passed away on
Friday,
August 19, 2016 at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna at the age of 29.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 24 at 1 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Huston
officiating. Burial
will follow at Mt Garner Cemetery in Decherd. Visitation with the family
will be Tuesday, August 23 from 5 – 8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
A native of Winchester, Nichole was the daughter of Edward Reid II and his
wife, Debbie of Winchester and Sandra Nelson and Chris Frame of Flintville.
She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church. She enjoyed swimming,
listening to music and being with friends. Her favorite activity was
spending time with her son, Layton Reid.
In addition to her parents and son, she is survived by grandparents, Joyce
Williams Reid of Estill Springs and Eva Jean and Howard Bartlett of Smyrna;
step-father, Roger Nelson of Tullahoma; brothers, Matthew David Nelson of
Tullahoma, Delton Wayne Nelson of California, Jacob Macklyn Reid of
Winchester; sisters, Amanda Rice and her husband, Kenneth of Winchester and
Sarah Catherine Reid of Winchester; nephew, Eugene Nelson and several
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.

8/23/16 — Edward Calvin Carter
Mr. Edward Calvin Carter, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday,
August 21, 2016 at Donalson Care Center. Memorial Services will be held at
the Fayetteville First Church of the Nazarene, 811 Lewisburg Highway,
Fayetteville, TN 37334 on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 with visitation at 6 PM
and the service at 7 PM.
A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Richard “Dick” and
Ellen Tucker Carter. He was a retired cable contractor and member of the
Fayetteville First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed camping, boating,
watching motorcycle racing and farming. He was very community minded and
would sponsor many activities with his company, C & H Cable.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter,
Pamela Carter and one sister, Virginia Morrison.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Renee Carter of Fayetteville; three
sons, Larry Edward Carter and his wife, Kathy of Portland, Oregon, Terry
Lance Carter and his wife, Lacey of Fayetteville and Edward Adam Carter and
Carissa Tacon of Fayetteville; one daughter, Patricia “Patti” Guinn and
her
husband, Pheaton of Harvest, AL; one brother, J B Carter of Shelbyville;
four sisters, Barbara Ann Mead and her husband, Merle of Tullahoma, Leona
Tucker and Frances Steelman, both of Fayetteville and Etha Jean Smartt and
her husband, Pevey of Fayetteville; special niece, Paulette Kittle of
Fayetteville; special nephew, Bobby Morrison of Fayetteville; eleven
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews.

8/21/16–Ronald Dawbarn
Ronald Dawbarn (b.9/7/34 d.8/17/16) was born in Warrington, England, son of Sydney and Nelle Dawbarn. At 16, he left England to attend Graceland college in Iowa. In 1959, he became a naturalized US citizen. In 1966, he and his family moved to Manchester, Tennessee.
He is survived by Joyce, his wife; his daughters, Dr. Linda Vandergriff (h. Glenn), Ms. Rhonda Shiffler, and Ms. Heather Dawbarn (h. Jake Robinson); 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and his siblings Ruth Harriet Stonham and John Dawbarn (w. Sandra). He was preceded in death by his son Ronald Albert Dawbarn.
Mr. Dawbarn earned a BS in Physics (UMKC ’63) and a MS in Engineering Physics (Univ. MO – Rolla ’65). He worked at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (32 yrs.) and in 2002 was recognized as an AEDC Fellow. He was known for his expertise in condensation phenomena (rocket plumes), cryogenics and vacuum technology, and IR sensors development / testing. His work spanned support for the Apollo missions through development and testing of space shuttle boosters and Star Wars satellite sensors. He published over 74 papers and conference presentations.
Elder Ronald Dawbarn was active in the Community of Christ (aka RLDS) throughout his life preaching, working at church camps and conferences, and writing theological and historical papers. He served as a pastor in the Nashville congregation and Manchester mission. In 2009, he along with his sister and brother published a compilation of their father’s sermons and mother’s articles called “Amen & Amen.” Then in 2015, he published his Autobiography “Those Forks in the Road.”
A man of many talents, his favorite hobbies were photography, woodworking, and music. He was a spell binding story teller; with delightful tales we will always remember. On his Facebook page more memories are shared.
The family will be receiving guests starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday August 21st at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel (786 McMinnville Hwy Manchester). The memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. with Terry Williams officiating. After the service, a reception potluck will be held at the Manchester Mission of the Community of Christ Church. The family is requesting donations in his name to the Manchester Tennessee Library for children’s scientific books or to the Community of Christ designated for the Foundry Hill Campground in lieu of flowers.
