9/5/16 — Rose Marie “Rosie” Schell
Rose Marie “Rosie” Schell of Tullahoma passed this life on Friday,
September 2nd, 2016 at Alive Hospice in Nashville at the age of 87. Mrs.
Schell was born in Wellsville, Missouri to the late Opal Vest and Teresa
Elizabeth Hughes Brown. She graduated from Saint Peter’s Catholic High
School in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1946 and married Emil Irving Schell
on August 28th, 1948 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Mrs. Schell was a
member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Tullahoma, as well as
the Lakewood Country Club where she was an avid golfer. She was a
long-time volunteer with her church, Harton Hospital, and the Coffee
County Election Commission. In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Emil Irving Schell; one son, Michael Schell; and
four siblings, Thomas Brown, Catherine Brown, Dorothy Brown, and John
Brown. Mrs. Schell is survived by one son, Mark Schell and his wife
Sheila of Nashville; two daughters, Nancy Mitchell and her husband Dudley
of Breckenridge, Colorado, and Tracee Fisher and her husband Charles of
Carmel, Indiana; grandchildren, Erin Schell, Ryan Schell and his wife
Kendall, Matthew Mitchell and his wife Jenny, Emily Harmon and her
husband Justin, Molly Mitchell, Hannah Fisher, John Fisher, and Sam
Fisher; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Susan, and Gwen Mitchell; and one
sister, Mary Sue Hemmel. Visitation will be held on Monday, September
5th, 2016 at Kilgore Funeral Home in Tullahoma from 5:00-8:00pm with a
rosary service to begin at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday,
September 6th, 2016 at 10:00am at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church
with Father Stephen Klasek officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill
Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family asks
that donations be made to Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 306

Jonnie Mae Clark Uselton
Jonnie Mae Clark Uselton, 81, a resident of Normandy, TN passed away on
Friday, September 2, 2016 at her residence. No services are scheduled.
A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Lynord and
Fannie Simpson. She worked for many years at Wilson Sporting Goods. She
loved animals and especially her cats. She also enjoyed listening to
country music. Mrs. Uselton was a very caring person and enjoyed looking
after everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Clifton
Boyd Clark and Roger Uselton; one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by her children, Rodger Clark and his fiancé, Tammy
McDaniel of Normandy and Beverly Clark Carney of Manchester; sister,
Catherine Smith of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Angela Coley and her husband,
Trent Mathis of Tullahoma, Josh Clark of Tullahoma and Quintin Clark of
Manchester and four great grandchildren, Summer York and Trent, Gauge and
Macey Clark.

Thomas R. Hale
Thomas R. Hale, left this earth at the age of 55 on Tuesday, August 30,
2016. No services are scheduled.
He was the son of the late Raymond Lee and Cora Haley Hale. He was a
graduate of Tullahoma High School. He loved being outdoors and was an avid
NASCAR fan. He was a friend to all and could talk to anyone. He never meet
a stranger. He looked after family members and would help anyone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William
R, Mike, and Jimmy Lee Hale; and sisters, Carolyn and Alice Hale.
Mr. Hale is survived by one brother, Kenneth Hale and his wife, Shirley of
Tullahoma; one sister, Wanda Hale, of Tullahoma; sister-in-law, Durinda
Hale of Tullahoma; cousin, Phillip Miller of Winchester and nephews,
Raymond Hale and his wife, Carla of Hillsboro, Charlie Hale of Hillsboro
and Kevin Hale and his wife, Jessica of Tullahoma and one niece, Jamie Hale
of Tullahoma. He also left behind his loving pet dogs, Patch, Pumpkin and
Sheba and his loving cat, Peaches.

9/1/16 — Marion Montgomery, Jr.
Marion Montgomery Jr., 78, a resident of Tullahoma, TN passed this life
peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 29, 2016 at
his home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 1, 2016
at 2 PM at the Calvary Apostolic Church of Jesus, 151 Parham Blvd,
Tullahoma, TN. with Bro. Joe Hill officiating. Burial will follow at
Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, August
31, 2016 from 5 – 9 PM at the church.
Mr. Montgomery, a native of Tullahoma, was the son of the late Francis
Marion and Mae O. Lawson Montgomery. He was a U S Navy veteran serving as
a communications technician from 1955 until his retirement in November
1974. While stationed in Winter Harbor, Maine, he meet his future wife,
Maybelle Norwood of Bar Harbor, Maine and they were married after dating
for two weeks. This marriage lasted for over 57 years. After retiring from
the Navy, he also was employed by Applied Machine Technology and Schmiede
Corporation and also did consulting. Mr. Montgomery was a member of the
Calvary Apostolic Church of Jesus and enjoyed bowling and fishing. He most
of all loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather
and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers,
Frank, Eugene and Harold Wayne Montgomery and four sisters, Bessie Lee
Lawson, Atoma Lorene Sons, Frances Dow and Annie Lou Montgomery.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife, Maybelle Montgomery of Tullahoma;
two sons, Timothy Montgomery and his wife, Louann of Bloomington, IN and
Gary Montgomery and his wife, Carol Ann of Tullahoma; four daughters,
Sherri Lightner and her husband, Johnny of Mulberry, Susan Sims and her
husband, Eddie of Manchester, Denise Pollock and her husband, Mike of
Athens, TN and Joleen Raby and her husband, Adam of Tullahoma; twenty two
grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild
on the way and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be accepted in his honor to the
Marion Montgomery Jr. fund at Traders Bank.

9/1/16 — Wilma Bailey Hesketh
WILMA BAILEY HESKETH, Age 95, of Tullahoma, Tenn., a native of Franklin County, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2016, at the home of her daughter in Wartrace, Tenn. Ms. Hesketh was born in Franklin County, Tenn. to the late Walter and Ardie Lee Bean Bailey. She was a homemaker. Ms. Hesketh is a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Ms. Hesketh enjoyed sewing and crocheting before her health wouldn’t allow her to do so.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hesketh was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Roy Hesketh, daughter-in-law, Debra Hesketh and grandson, Bruce Brewer. She is survived by her daughter, Reba Hesketh Driver and husband, Donnie of Wartrace, Tenn., Son, Dale Hesketh of Winchester, and sister, Nora Mae Bulkhalter also of Winchester. 12-Grandchildren and 12-Great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Ms. Hesketh is scheduled for 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening, August 31, 2016, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 1, 2016, with Bro. Randy Alexander, officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Winchester Memorial Park beside her late husband Clifford.

8/31/16 — Frank Edward “Buck” Greene
Funeral services for Mr. Frank Edward “Buck” Greene, age 80, of
Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31,
2016 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Benny Benjamin
officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton’s Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the
funeral home. Buck passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Horizon
Health & Rehab in Manchester, TN.
Buck was born in Bedford County, TN, the son of the late Homer and Reldia
French Greene. He was an ironworker/rod buster in the construction
industry and a member of the local Steelworkers Union. He took a lot of
pride in his Cherokee heritage, taking a Trail of Tears ride every year.
Buck enjoyed fast cars, boats, motorcycles (owning 5 or 6), deep sea
fishing, and CB radios. One of Buck’s motorcycles was a Gold Wing that
had Harley parts on it that he called his “Little Red Honda-Davidson.”
In addition to his parents, Buck was also preceded in death by one
sister, Connie Donner; and one sister in law, Carol Greene. Buck is
survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Geneva Vickers Greene of
Manchester; one son, Frank (Laura) Greene of Murfreesboro, TN; one
daughter, Janet (David) Monroe of NC; one step-daughter, Debbie Driver;
two brothers, James and Linverd “Satch” Greene; one sister, Mildred
Greene; four grandchildren, David Greene, Jared Greene, Brittany Greene,
and Isabell Greene; one great grandchild, Adalynn Greene; and several
nieces and nephews.

8/30/16—Emma Jean Daniel McCarver
EMMA JEAN DANIEL McCARVER, age 81 of Tullahoma, Tenn., formerly a native of Franklin County, Tenn., departed this life on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness. Her loving and devoted family was with her when she went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on May 26, 1935 in Fort Payne, Alabama to the late Claude Raymond Daniel and Flora Mae Henderson Daniel. She is of the Church of Christ Faith. She was a homemaker. Ms. McCarver was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister. She loved sewing, baking and working puzzles. Ms. McCarver was always giving of herself and her time. She worked with various charity organizations during her lifetime. The thing she enjoyed most was being Mrs. Santa Claus in her later years. She was often seen around at parades and some of her charity organizations or wherever she was asked to play her “part”.
In addition to her parents; Ms. McCarver was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Glenn McCarver, Sr., daughter, Rhonda Gail McCarver. sisters; Marie Eutilie Daniel Lawson and Lenora Ophelia Daniel Franklin, brothers; Charles Taylor Daniel, twin Elmer Joseph Daniel, Auddis Daniel. Great-grandson, Jaxson Lee Rixford and great-granddaughter, Addison Rose Rixford.
She is survived by her daughters; Janet Sue McCarver Morris and husband, Ron Morris of Manchester, Kathy June McCarver Graves and husband William of Dodd City, Texas, Karen Lynn McCarver Nee and husband, Chris of Hillsboro, Tenn., Sons; Doyle Glenn McCarver, Jr. and wife, Della of Attalla, Ala., Robert Dale McCarver and wife, Mary of Winchester, Tenn., Jerry Wayne McCarver of Altamont, Tenn., Kenneth Ray McCarver and wife, Sharon of Manchester, Tenn. 8/29/16—Alma Jean Bailey Lesley
Mrs. Alma Jean Bailey Lesley passed away on August 27, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Winchester, Tennessee. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on July 16, 1943 to the late Everett and Eunice Morrison Bailey. A homemaker she loved to sew, making quilts, clothes. Mrs. Lesley was a member of the Marble Plains Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gray Lesley. She is survived by her son Doug Lesley and his wife Becky of Tullahoma along with her daughter Shona Lesley-Kesey also of Tullahoma.
Surviving siblings are Bill Bailey and his wife Donna of Michigan and Brenda Burton and her husband Earl of Tullahoma.
Also surviving are grandchildren Ava Kesey and Lesley Kesey along with great grandchild Jaxon Thompson.
Visitation with family members will begin at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 29 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Lynchburg Cemetery. Bro Jack Hice will officiate.

Gladys M. Smartt was born April 21, 1928, in Hillsboro, Tennessee to Alton and Sarah Sherrill. Residing in Hillsboro, Gladys and her late husband, Walter C. Smartt “Jack” loved living in the country. Gladys would tend to her flowers and vegetable garden during the day, she loved looking at the gorgeous mountain view from her kitchen table. She would love to tell stories of her childhood to her family and friends. Gladys was a true homemaker and a wonderful caregiver for her husband, “Jack”. Gladys was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ. Also, preceded in death a brother; Homer C. Sherrill, “A.C.”. She is survived by 2 sons; Billy Smartt, of Hillsboro, Tennessee, and Donnie (Betty) Smartt of Manchester, Tennessee, grandchildren; Gary Smartt of Hillsboro, Tennessee, Christy Smartt, Alethis (Derrick) Rawn, Jonathan and Kelli Smartt, Joshua Smartt, all of Manchester, Tennessee, 3 great-grandchildren; Cody Smartt, of Manchester, Tennessee, Kaylee Smartt, and Kara Wheeler, 1 great-great grandchild; Parker Smartt, of Manchester, Tennessee, brother; Bobby Joe (Vernell)Sherrill, of Hillsboro, Tennessee, and Special Friend; Carol McMahan.
