2/11/17 — Barbara June Moody

Barbara June Moody age 77 of Manchester went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday February 8, 2017. A native of Coffee County she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Maude Hibbard Hobbs. Visitation will be Friday February 10, 2017 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Manchester Funeral. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday February 11, 2017 at Manchester Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Carmack and Brother Ronald Smitty officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Moody is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Moody, Sr. and a son; Marvin Moody, Jr. She is survived by son; Jerry (Connie) Cargile, daughters; Betty (Jason) Neese, Tammy (Carl) Brewer all of Manchester and nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and her dog Jasmine.

Mrs. Moody was a member of Manchester Free Will Baptist Church.

2/8/17 — Avice Roxanna Holmes Colwell

Funeral services for Mrs. Avice Roxanna Holmes Colwell, age 100 of Manchester, will be conducted on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Charles Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Colwell passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Unity Medical Center.

She was born on August 24, 1916 in the Shady Grove Community of Coffee County to the late Jesse and Della Duncan Holmes. Avice was a member of the New Union Church of Christ. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included crocheting doilies and throws, many of which she gave away. She was a homemaker and worked a few years at the Star Union Pajama Factory before she married.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Walter S. “”Doc” Colwell; brothers, Herman Holmes, Hubert Holmes, and J.D. Holmes; sisters, Eva Elder, Cora Simmons, and Elan Hill; five nieces and three nephews.

She is survived by her son, Walter Dane Colwell of Manchester; two brothers, Lynder Holmes (Willie) of McMinnville and Vernon Holmes (Naomi) of Manchester; sister-in-law, Pauline Holmes of Brentwood; five nieces and ten nephews.

Mrs. Linda Lue. Chandler 70, of Tullahoma passed Monday, February 6, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her Father, Sam Allen Starks ; Brothers, Jessie Allen Starks, Calvin Southern, Bobby and Willie Jones.

She is survived by her Husband, Arthur Chandler of Tullahoma, TN;

Children, Vincent Starks and Allen Terrell (Tameka) Starks both of Nashville, TN; Jeffrey Bernard Shannon of Indiana; Janet Nicole Shannon of Chattanooga, and Kelvin Green of Tuscaloosa, Al;

Nine Grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren

Mother, Isabella Starks of Tullahoma, TN.

Five Sisters, Clara (Ricardo) Jones of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Rosie (Ernest) Mitchell; Berdeda Lee (Eddie) Gray and Amber Bowen all of Tullahoma, TN; Sondra (Mike) Leveye of North Dakota.

Brother, Charles (Jameslyn) Biles of Nashville, TN.

Three sisters in law, Barbara Paige, Shannon Jones, and Maudie Jones

Visitation Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Revival Center Family Church with Funeral Services to follow at 1:00 pm at Revival Center Family Church with Elder Billy Brooks officiating and Elder Cedric Seay as Eulogist.

Charles David Allen

Charles David Allen passed this life on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age
of 53 years. No local services are planned but memorial services will be
scheduled at a later time in Florida.

A native of Lake Worth, FL, he was the son of the late James Earl and
Patricia Soullier Allen. He was a truck driver and always enjoyed
traveling and seeing the country in his truck. He also enjoyed fishing and
boating and loved going to the beach.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dan
Allen.

Mr. Allen is survived by one son, Thomas Edward Allen and one daughter,
Jennifer Allen of Williston, FL; step son, Brian Sloan and his wife,
Satrina of Manchester; step daughters, Alesha Keys of West Palm Beach, FL
and Kimberly Johnson and her husband, Lonnie of Estill Springs and one
brother, Jimmy Allen of Rupert, GA.

2/7/17 — Ruby Irene Duke Dyer

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Irene Duke Dyer, age 90, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kerry Walker officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 PM until time of service at 6:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Dyer passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester, TN.

Ruby was born in Normandy, TN, the daughter of the late Nealy Vinton Duke and Clyde Ewell Duke Shelton. She was employed at Genesco in Tullahoma for more than 30 years, having retired in 1985, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester. Mrs. Ruby kept children in her home for more than 20 years. She also enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Oasis, working word search puzzles, and was a wonderful cook, with specialties being pecan pies and cheeseburgers.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was also preceded in death by her husband, Lon D. Dyer, Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Jean Freeze and Ernestine Farrar; and an infant brother, Troy Duke. She is survived by one daughter, Elaine (Larry) Browder of Sale Creek, TN; one son, Gary (Brenda) Dyer of Manchester, TN; grandchildren, Kelly (Freddie) Hawkins of Soddy Daisy, TN, Col. Shawn (Sally) Holmes of Columbus, GA, Clay (Gwen) Dyer of Murfreesboro, TN, Chad (LeAnn) Dyer and Courtney (Benji) Blackburn, both of Manchester, TN; great grandchildren, Carley and Cain Hawkins, Morgan and Emily Holmes, Luke Blackburn, Collin, Drew and Nate Dyer, Cy Brody and Paisley Dyer.

The family gives special thanks to the staff at Autumn Oaks and Manchester Health Care, Dr. Albert Brandon and Donna Tudor, FNP, and Dr. David Florence.

2/9/17 — Walter Leighton McMahan

Graveside Memorial Services for Mr. Walter Leighton McMahan, age 85, of Morrison, Tennessee, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Shady Grove Cemetery. Mr. McMahan passed away at his home on February 5, 2017.

Walter McMahan was born in Coffee County, Tennessee, the son of the late Walter Hill McMahan and Mary Louise Russell. He served his country in the United States Army. Walter worked as an electrical construction worker in his early years. Later on, he worked as a farmer for over twenty years.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Dottie Sutherland McMahan. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Dortha Elam McMahan; brother, Gary and wife, Marsha McMahan of Manchester; sisters, Mary Davis of Morrison, Billie and husband, Ken Haske of Michigan, and sister-in-law, Lisa McMahan of Goodletsville; step-daughters, Dianne and husband, Jimmy Lynn Anderson, and Debby Winton; several nieces and nephews.

2/10/17 — Billie Jo Brady

Billie Jo Brady of Manchester, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at
her residence at the age of 55 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for
Friday, February 10, 2017 at 12 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home chapel
with burial to follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the
family will be from 10 AM until the service time.

A native of Grundy County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Hayes
Brady and Clara May Turner Brady of Manchester. She attended the Manchester
Church of God and the Living Water Pentecostal Church of Manchester. She
enjoyed listening to music on the radio and loved spending time with her
family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brother, Jimmy
Hayes Brady; sister, Caroline Renee and brother-in-law, Tommy Renee.

Billie Jo is survived by her mother, Clara Brady of Manchester; two sons,
Billy Jacobs of Manchester and Larcus Joseph Jacobs Jr and his wife, Linda
of Decherd; daughters, Pamela Jacobs and her life companion, Tasha
Thompson of Manchester and Patricia Mae Wilhoite of Nashville; ex-husband
and special friend, Larry Joe Jacobs of Manchester; brother, Freddie Lee
Brady of Manchester; sisters, Thelma McMahan and her husband, David of
Hillsboro, Debbie White of Manchester and Darlene Hopkins and her husband,
Howard of Manchester; six grandchildren, Dustin Jacobs, Lakaya Wilhoite,
Julian Eads, Taylor and Matthew Davis and M L Wallace and one great
grandchild, Jayden Davis.

2/9/17 — Richey L. Morton

Richey L Morton of Tullahoma passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at his
residence at the age of 39 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for
Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home
chapel with burial to follow at Gardens of Memory Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation
with the family will be from 11 AM till the service time.

A native of Warren County, he was the son of the late William Bud Morton
and Geraldine Davenport Morton of McMinnville. He was a Radiology
Technician and had worked at Southern TN Medical Center, Harton Regional
Medical Center, the Medical Center of Manchester and Unity Medical
Center. He
attended Day Springs Community Church in McMinnville where he enjoyed
playing drums for the services. He loved music and enjoyed attending
concerts. He loved Ford Mustangs, the Nashville Predators Hockey Team and
the band, Hale Storm. He also enjoyed target shooting and playing street
hockey. He especially loved being with his family, especially his son,
Blake.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Scotty
Joe Morton and two sisters, Brenda Lee Tanner and Phyllis Ann Morton
Nesmith Winton.

Richey is survived by his mother and step-father, Geraldine Morton and
William Swim of McMinnville; wife, Candye Doss Morton of Tullahoma; sons,
Blake Lavoy Morton of McMinnville and Ethan Harris of Tullahoma; daughters,
Laklynn Qualls of Walnut Grove and Keely Harris of Tullahoma; brother,
Steve Tanner and his wife, Kim of McMinnville; sister, Marsha Means of
Forest City, NC; one grandchild Tatum Qualls and one on the way.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in
his honor to Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

2/8/17 — Wanda Jacqueline “Fluff” Martin-Sherrill

Martin-Sherrill, Wanda Jacqueline “Fluff”, of Tullahoma, passed
this life on Sunday, February 5th, 2017 at her home at the age of 67.
Wanda was born in LaFayette, Georgia to the late Andrew D. Martin Sr. and
Kathleen Morse Martin. She was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School
and was always fun loving, full of laughter and joy, and was almost
generous to a fault with others. During her life she was a hair stylist
and was the owner of La Casa Salon. She was a member of Faith Lutheran
Church in Tullahoma, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, International
Edsel Club, and was an avid Ham Radio Operator. In addition to her
parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sherrill. She
is survived by two sisters, Donna Martin and Joyce Strickland both of
Tullahoma; one brother, Andy Martin of Tullahoma; and one nephew, Jeff
Strickland and his wife Kim of Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be held on
Tuesday, February 7th, 2017 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 at 2:00pm in
the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Nutter officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, in
lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tullahoma
Animal Shelter, 942 Maplewood Avenue, Tullahoma, Tennessee 37388.

2/4/17 — Hobert Isaac Dailey

Hobert Isaac Dailey, age 87, of Woodbury passed away Saturday, February
4, 2017 at Tennessee Veteran’s Home. He was a native of Julian, WV.

Survivors include his children, Roger (Majuana) Dailey of Murfreesboro,
Linda (Dan) Farmer of Lenoir City, & Edna (Stan) Cooper of Hurricane, WV.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mr. Dailey was the son of the late Hobert Lee Dailey and Ellen Louise
Tyler Dailey. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a veteran of
the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army. Mr. Hobert was a
former bank examiner, school teacher at Woodbury Central High School,
former preacher and owner/operator of Dailey Recording Studio.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in the Chapel of
Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Mitchell officiating. Interment will
follow at Gilley Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from
4 to 8 PM Monday, February 6, 2017 at the funeral home.
