2/24/17–Minnie Belle Medley

Ms. Minnie Belle Medley, age 73 of McMinnville, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her residence.

No services will be held at this time.

2/27/17 — William T. Williams

Mr. William T. Williams, 60, a resident of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away on Feb. 22, 2017 at Stonecrest Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Williams loved to play his guitar, ride motorcycles and watch NASCAR racing. He was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his wife Julie Thompson Williams of Tullahoma, Tennessee along with his son Jesse Ladd.
Surviving brothers are Wesley Williams, Joey Partin, Jamie Thomas and his wife Nikki and Jeff Thomas. Surviving sisters are Anita Williams and Pam Thomas.
Visitation with family members will be held from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Pennington Cemetery in Franklin County.

2/25/17–Albert Devander “A.D.” Qualls

ALBERT DEVANDER “A. D.” QUALLS
(August 27, 1938 – February 21, 2017)

Albert Devander Qualls was born August 27, 1938, a native of Manchester, Tennessee, to the late Ralph Qualls and Hazel Anthony Qualls. Mr. Qualls is also preceded in death by a loving and devoted wife Ester Yvonne Qualls and resided in Altamont, Tennessee, a son, Scott Qualls, and a brother Jerry Qualls.

Mr. Qualls loved gardening, coon hunting, and was known as a very hard worker. He was constantly working on something. He was very loving, kind and generous. He was a pipefitter and welder in the construction field before retirement.

Mr. A.D. Qualls is survived by a daughter, Sonja R. Qualls of Altamont, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Heather Killian of Beersheba Springs of Tennessee, Jordan Qualls of McMinnville, Tennessee and Brianna Qualls of Manchester, Tennessee, three great-grandchildren, Alex Killian, Kadan Killian, and Axton Qualls, six sisters, Imma Jean Purdue, Katherine Chappelow, Venita Anderson, Dorothy Freeze, Willadean Richardson, and Rennita Floyd, and a brother, Marshall Qualls, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

VISITATION: Saturday, February 25, 2017, 11 – 1:00 P.M. at the Central Funeral Home, 2812 Hillsboro Highway, Manchester, Tennessee

2/26/17 — Larry Gene Mosher

Larry Gene Mosher passed away quietly in his home in Murfreesboro , TN  on Tuesday February 21, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on December 13, 1939 in Bentonville, AR to parents Norman Eugene and Josephine Mitchell Mosher.  He was the youngest of six children.

Larry was a pioneer in the world of highway restoration, safety and the Grinding and Grooving industry for over 45 years.
In 1980 his company MU Inc. founded in Lebanon, TN.  He was dedicated to refining and improving roads, bridges and airport runways across the globe.  His inventions and innovative designs are still used to this day. He was known throughout the world for his expertise in the field of Grooving and Grinding, and provided consultation to many other countries. His expertise in his industry was highly sought after and he contributed to a vast amount of educational and informational literature on the subject. Larry served for several years as Executive Director of the International Grooving and Grinding Association and President of American Concrete Pavement Association. He was also given the Honorary Lifetime Membership Award by IGGA in 2008.

In his private life, Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His whole face would light up every time his family would gather around him. He was a jokster and a prankster; he always made everyone around him laugh, most of his close friends and family called him ” Big Moe”. He enjoyed music and played the guitar and sang. He was a Godly man who enjoyed going to church and helping people in need. His generous nature and compassionate and loving heart will never be forgotten. At home and in his travels around the world, he had a great impact in the lives of people he met. He truly lived life to the fullest and never failed to be thankful for his blessings.

Larry’s true legacy lives on in the ones he left behind. Jennifer, his loving wife of 32 years, his four daughters; Tanya Mosher of Fairview, TN, Pamela Mosher of Hendersonville, TN, both Lorla Carter and Heather Johnson of Smyrna, TN. His grandchildren, Michael Moss, Victoria Souders, Jeremy Campbell, Johnathan Mosher Johnson, Jessica Carter, John III, Scarlett, Ethan, Summer and Melody Johnson, Megan, Amanda and Gabriel Mosher. Great grandchildren; Michael Moss Jr., Finnigan Moss, Essence and Avril Campbell and David Gene Souders as well as countless friends. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lynn Mosher and his grandson Jason Souders. He will truly be missed by all but we are thankful for the lasting impact he had on all our lives.

A celebration of life visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home, 401 North Jackson St Tullahoma, TN 37388. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

2/25/17 — Carlos Ulrich Claire von dem Bussche

Mr. Carlos Ulrich Claire von dem Bussche, Sr. passed away on February 21, 2017 at Tennova-Harton Healthcare in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He was 81 years of age.
Carlos was born to the late Karl and Josephine Timberlake von dem Bussche on July 6, 1935 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A retired salesman, he was educated at Colegio Ward, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Kent Preparatory in Kent, Connecticut. He graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee where he was a Kappa Alpha, a member of The Order of Gownsman along with the university’s track team.
Described as a man “that could do anything,” he was a stained glass artist that installed his work in the home of the Vice President of the United States in Washington, D.C., as well as many other businesses and residences in the Tullahoma area. He loved woodworking and sailing, where as a member of the Highland Yacht Club he once served as its Commandre.
Mr. von dem Bussche is survived by his wife Nancy Owens von dem Bussche of Tullahoma, his son Carlos von dem Bussche, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Tullahoma, Tennessee and daughter Tanya Early also of Tullahoma, Tennessee. Also surviving are grandchildren Skyler, Justice and Alexis von dem Bussche.
Visitation with family members will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral. Interment will follow at a later date at Welker Cemetery in Coffee County.

2/22/17–Lyle Lawton

Lyle Lorain Lawton, 98, of the Ashbury Section of Manchester, passed away on Friday (Feb. 10, 2017) at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, following a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 30, 1918, in Shinglehouse, Pa., he was the son of John and Ethel Cecilia Sherwood Abel. On Nov. 19, 1947 in Belfast, N.Y., he married Sarah Wilday, who predeceased him in 1983.

Lyle had grown up in the Shinglehouse and Coudersport, Pa., areas and had attended the school systems there. Later he received his GED. He joined the U.S. Army and during World War II he fought with Patton’s 3rd Army, receiving the Bronze Star for his actions. After VE Day he served in the Philippines. Returning to civilian life, he located in the Black Creek area and was employed at Arovox in Franklinville. Later, he worked for Acme Electric in Cuba, where he constructed transformers for a short time.

Lyle enjoyed traveling, renovating houses and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the Black Creek Congregational Church and the VFW in Manchester.

Surviving are a son, Stephen A. (Mary) Lawton of Manchester; a daughter, Ann Marie Lawton of Manchester; three grandchildren, Erica (Charles) Crump of Mobile, Ala., Christopher (Jessica) Lawton of Manchester and David Lawton of Antioch; a half-sister, Beatrice Ruthli of Seattle Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.

Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 17, 2017) followed by funeral services held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. David Lawton, of Bolivar, N.Y., officiated. Burial at Riverside Cemetery, Belfast.

2/22/17 — Donna Gore Turney

A graveside service celebrating the life of Donna Gore Turney, age 84 of
Manchester, was conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at
Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. Mrs. Turney passed away Sunday
February 19, 2017 in Murfreesboro. She was born December 4, 1932 in
Nashville, Tennessee, the son of James and Addie Gore. She graduated from
West End High School and went on to become a loving, devoted mother and
homemaker, and later a grandmother. She is remembered for her kind heart
and dedication to others. She devoted 30 selfless years to caring for her
elderly neighbor, Bertha Ashley, before her husband’s death in July of
2013. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manchester,
Tennessee where she served on several committees. She took pride in being
the historian and Newsletter writer of the church. She loved to take
photos and document her surroundings. She loved gardening and bird
watching, humming birds especially. Most of all she loved spending time
with and cooking for her family. In addition to her parents, she is
preceded in death by an infant daughter Terry Diane Turney and husband
Richard Reeves Turnery. She was a devoted wife, loving mother,
grandmother and sister. She is survived by her two sons, Richard R.
“Ricky” Turney, Jr. of Manchester; and Steven Turney and wife, Angie of
Murfreesboro; and two grandchildren, Ashton and Ian Turney both of
Murfreesboro; brother James “Jim” Gore, Sr. and wife Margie of Manchester
along with many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the
family asks that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of
Manchester or Grace Hospice Foundation, c/o Avalon Hospice, 132 Saint
Andrews Drive Suite B, Murfreesboro, TN 37128- In Memory of Donna Turney.

2/21/17–Jerry G. Petrella

Mr. Jerry G. Petrella age 67 of Murfreesboro passed away Sunday February 19, 2017. He was the son of the Carmen and Mary Johnson Petrella. He was also preceded in death by a sister; Sue Allen and a granddaughter; Sarah Thomas.

Mr. Petrella is survived by his wife; Janice Zielinski Petrella; son; Robert Petrella and his fiancé Jessica of Donelson, daughters; Heather (Daniel) Thomas of Christiana, Angela Petrella of Livingston and 7 grandchildren; Brandon Thomas, Trevor Thomas, Elijah Petrella, Kaitlyn Gordon, Cameron Gordon, Caden Ghee, and Kaylee Gilley. He is also survived by sisters; Barb (Dennis) Popilek and Connie Machuta both of Michigan.

Mr. Petrella was a member of St. Rose Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

2/24/17 — Korey James Benbow

Funeral services for Mr. Korey James Benbow, age 48, of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with J.T. Steele and Benny Benjamin officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Bikers for Christ. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Benbow passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester, TN.

Korey was born in Michigan, the son of Bruce Benbow and Rebecca Malburg. He was self-employed at Exteriors of Tennessee and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Korey’s characteristics include giving, caring, loving spirit, funny, hardworking, just to name a few. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of Bikers for Christ. Korey also enjoyed all watersports, including boating and jet skiing. He loved his children, grandchildren, and he loved life.

In addition to his parents, Korey is also survived by his wife, Guizhu Wu Benbow; children, Alissa Steffens, Joe Rosey, and Candy Giles; step-children, Hongwei Qin, Mila Zou, Minnie Zou, and Niko Zou; and step-mother, Kathy Benbow.

2/22/17 — David A. Diehl

Mr. David A. Diehl Sr., 73, of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away on Feb. 20, 2017 at Tennova-Harton Healthcare in Tullahoma.
He was born Nov. 15, 1942 in Brady, Texas to the late John Andrew and Mary Louise Boyd Diehl.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Janice E. Overman Diehl of Tullahoma. Surviving sons are David A. Diehl, Jr. and his wife Jo H. Diehl of Manchester, Tennessee and Alvin D. Diehl of Tullahoma, Tennessee. One daughter Teri E. Diehl Adams of Tullahoma, Tennessee also survives. Surviving siblings are James M. Diehl of Texas, Glenn R. Diehl of California and sister Glenda K. Turner of Texas. Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Diehl was a beloved husband, father and grandfather that never met a stranger and always put his family ahead of himself. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force from 1963 until 1967 and continued to support the military in later years by being a faithful member of VFW Post 1893 in Franklin County. He raised his family by being a hard working truck driver for 28 years.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 from the chapel of Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin prior to the service at noon.
