12/8/17 — Lewis Prince

Lewis Prince of Shelbyville passed this life on Tuesday, December 5, 2017
at Tennova Healthcare – Shelbyville at the age of 70 years. Funeral
Services are scheduled for Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2 PM at
Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5 – 8
PM
at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mr. Prince, a native a Bedford County, TN was the son of the late Brice and
Scilla Sons Prince. He enjoyed horseback riding and playing his guitar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia
Prince and one brother, Wilburn Prince.

Mr. Prince is survived by two brothers, Buford Prince and his wife, Silvia
of Wartrace and Rickey Prince of Tullahoma.

12/9/17 — Dorothy “Dee” Dean Caldwell

Dorothy “Dee” Dean Caldwell of Tullahoma passed this life on Tuesday,
December 5, 2017 at the age of 58 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for
Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with
visitation from 11 AM – 2 PM.

Dee, a native a White County, TN was the daughter of the late Robert Lee
Caldwell Sr. and Dovie Williams Hillis of Manchester. She was a housekeeper
at Harton Hospital and enjoyed cooking and being outside and working in her
garden. Her favorite time was family time and being with her granddaughter.
She also loved country music and dancing.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Estel
Caldwell and three sisters, Oleta Caldwell and twins, Ethel and Opal
Caldwell.

In addition to her mother, Dovie Hillis of Manchester, Dee is survived by
daughter, Gabrielle Farless and her boyfriend, Daniel Ketcherside of
Tullahoma; brothers, Freddy Caldwell of Manchester, Doug Caldwell of IL and
Robert Lee Caldwell Jr of Manchester; sisters, Cindy Wileman and her
husband, Marty of IL, Mary Meeks and Francess Garner, both of Maryville, TN
and Annie Mae Caldwell of FL; granddaughter, Brielle Marie George and many
loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

12/7/17–Teresa Lynn Welsh

Pelham – Mrs. Teresa Lynn Welsh, 53, passed away at the home of her
parents
Monday December 4, 2017. She was born in East Lake, Ohio on December 24,
1963. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Welsh.

Teresa’s Birthday was on Christmas Eve and that made Christmas a very
extra
special time for her to spend with her family and friends. It was most
appropriate for her to be born on Christmas Eve for she was a very special
gift to her family.

She is survived by her parents, James R. and Frances Harris Arp; sisters,
Lori (Bill) Nolan and Sheila (Late Aaron) Fults; brothers, Ricky (Pam),
Terry, Greg (Misty) and Brian Scott Arp; several loving nieces and nepews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with
Minister Brett Meeks officiating with burial to follow in the Bethel

12/5/17–Barbara J. Morris

Barbara J Morris of Tullahoma passed this life on Friday, December 1, 2017
at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 70 years. No services
are scheduled.

Mrs. Morris was the daughter of the late Otho Andrew and Inez Lovenia
Terrell Rush. She was born on October 19, 1947 in Carrollton, GA. She
enjoyed listening to music, being outdoors and playing practical jokes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Clarence Morris, brother, Jerry Kenneth Rush and sister, Donna Maxwell.

Mrs. Morris is survived by two sons, Richie Marks of Heflin, AL, William
“Billie” Roy Marks Jr of GA; daughter, Stacie Kortz of Clairmore, OK;
brother, Ronnie Edward Rush of Austin, TX; sister, Frankie Hurst of
Tullahoma; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

12/8/17–Virginia M. Skuya

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia M. Skuya, age 94, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Farrar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Skuya passed away on December 4, 2017 at Manchester Healthcare.

Virginia was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Loman and Viola Banks. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church in Sioux City, IA. Virginia enjoyed knitting, making quilts, singing, playing the banjo, gardening, and canning.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was also preceded in death by her late husband, John Joseph Skuya; one daughter, Martha Florida; and two brothers, Lee and Edward Banks. She is survived by two sons, Danny (Cheryl) Skuya and John Edward (Nancy) Skuya; three daughters, Shirley (Harold) Duncan, Diane (J.C.) Alexander and Arlene Miller; one sister, Ruth Morton; grandchildren, Tammy Rooker, Christina Duncan, Michelle Duncan, Robert Skuya, Joanne Skuya, Rebekah Buchanan, Daniel Skuya, Jesse Skuya, Jeremiah Skuya, Jennifer Murphy, Stephanie Habben, D. J. Alexander, Brian Alexander, Christopher Alexander, Keith Florida, Cynthia Houck, Kenneth Florida, Jr., and Pamela Florida; great grandchildren, Sienna, Justin, Hope, Presley, Madison, Kaelen, Evelyn, Mathias, Braeden, Rosalea, Jasper, Haddasah, Sasha, Isabella, Natalie, Adeline, Matthew, Austin, Caleb, Chloe, Connor Taylor, Garrett, Preston, Kendall, Alexandra, and Reece. Funeral services for Mr. Howard Lee Weddington, age 58, of Hillsboro, TN will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Ross Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5 at the funeral home. Mr. Weddington passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester, TN.

Howard was born in Manchester, TN the son of the late Cliff and Frances Weddington. He was a realtor and auctioneer. Mr. Weddington was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member and song leader of Farris Chapel United Methodist Church in Winchester, TN. He was a fan of BBQing, and he loved watching UT Football and sports. Howard was an overall family man and a very caring husband, son, brother, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Howard is also preceded in death by one daughter, Marie McClure; one brother, Wayne Darnell. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rita Weddington; two sons, Duston (Tiffany) Frasier and Lee (Cindy) Weddington; two daughters, Nicol Free and Selena (Joey) Green; four brothers, Donnie (Debbie) Weddington, Larry (Alice) Darnell, Ronnie (Bonnie) Darnell, and Terry (Dottie) Darnell; one sister, Margie (Don) Powell; twelve grandchildren, Justin, Blake, Eathan, D.J., Bryce, Russell, Kaylee, Rachelle, Jessica, Vanessa, Zoey, and Amber; three great-grandchildren, Jayda, Braylen, and Jazzy; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Virginia Miller, age 69, of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Manchester Funeral Home with Freida Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 6 at the funeral home. Mrs. Miller passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Monday, December 4, 2017.

Ida was born in Coffee Co., TN the daughter of the late Harvey and Ruby Rackley. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and being outside. She loved her grandchildren more than anything, and was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Miller; one brother, Carl Rackley; one sister, Tommy Evon Rackley; one sister-in-law, Janice Rackley; two brother-in-laws, Jerry Underwood and Lavon Woodward; three grandchildren, David Bush, Danny Bush, and Kenneth Kelso. She is survived by her three daughters, Machelle (Kenneth) Bryant, Susan (Lorenzo) Smith, and Deborah (Marvin) Coomer; one brother, Harvey “Bimbo” Rackley; two sisters, Janie Underwood and Martha Woodward; eleven grandchildren, Porshea Smith, Laranta Robinson, Heather Eckles, Mindy Thompson, Josh McCormick, Thomas McCormick, Brittany White, Balinda Yates, Christopher Miller, Tasha Bryant, and Jessica Gammon; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

Donnie Thomas

Donald Ray “Donnie” Thomas, age 76 of Manchester, left this world on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital surrounded by his loving wife of 35 years, Wilma, his loving son, Johnny Giles, daughter-in-law, Sylvia, and his much-loved grandchildren, Candace, Joshua and Shanell Davis. Donnie was a deputy sheriff with Coffee County. He had a 46-year career in law enforcement, starting with the Tullahoma Police Department in 1971 and ending with Coffee County is 2017. Donnie was a long-time F.O.P. member and a thirty-second-degree Mason with Lodge # 382 in Hillsboro, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, George and Ester Thomas; Betty Vann and Dorothy Thomas; his twin brother, Henry Thomas; and brothers, Kenneth and Billy Thomas. Donnie is survived by his wife, Wilma Thomas of Manchester; sons, Johnny Giles (Sylvia) of Tullahoma and Bryon Giles of Tullahoma; daughter, Barbara Thomas Hullett (Robert) of Manchester; two granddaughters, Candace Davis and Nikki Madrid (Frankie) of Tullahoma; one grandson, Josh Davis (Shanell) of Estill Springs; and great-grandchildren, Emily Gooch, Haley Christian, Jace Davis, Elizabeth Davis and Logan Madrid; sister-in-law, Josephine Thomas of Tullahoma; brother, Bobby Thomas; sister, Mary Nell Whited; five very much loved and favorite nieces, Cindy Thomas, Michelle Glisson, Christy Thomas, Kim Morrison and Darlene Buckner; nephew, Lowell Morrison (Carol); two very special and loving cousins, Ina and Katherine; and numerous loving and close friends and family members. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6th, 2017 at 11:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Ralph Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Hodges Cemetery in Van Buren County, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Steve Graves, Frank Watkins, Loretta Tankersley, Sam Miller, Bob Bellamy, Baylon Sisk and Danny Young.

12/5/17–Edith Mae Winland

Edith Mae Winland passed this life on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at
Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro at the age of 82. Mrs. Winland was born in
Clarksville, GA to the late Ethan and Icie Franklin. During her life
Edith worked as a bookkeeper at Trader’s Bank as well as Crouch Oil Co.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one
granddaughter, Rebecca Winland; three brothers, Walkter, E.J. and Herman
Franklin; and five sisters, Neva Walls, Lilly Lambert, Lillian Glasgow,
Doris Pickelsimer, and Evelyn Overman. She is survived by her loving
husband of 63 years, Clarence Winland of Tullahoma; two sons, Danny
Winland and his wife Anna of Estill Springs, and Dale Winland and his
wife Tina of Tullahoma; three grandchildren, Amanda James and her husband
Jason, Lt. Commander Matthew Winland and his wife Sarah, and Mark Winland
and his wife Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Calvin, and Hannah; and
three sisters-in-law, Ona Franklin, Theresa Franklin, and Francis
Faulkner. Visitation for Mrs. Winland will be held on Monday, December
4th, from 5:00-7:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will take
place Tuesday, December 5th at 11:00am in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel
with Bro. Jack Hice officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial

12/5/17 — Lloyd Winfred “Wimpy” Carden, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd Winfred “Wimpy” Carden, Sr., age 87, of
Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5,
2017 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Farrar Hill
Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 4, 2017
from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Wimpy passed away
unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, December 03, 2017.

Mr. Carden was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late Mitchell
and Arizona Elrod Carden. He was the owner and operator of Garner’s
Furniture for 57 years, where he loved his customers and always put them
first. Wimpy was the longest and oldest member of Noah Church of Christ,
where he was also the treasurer. Wimpy was drafted by Branch Ricky of
the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, where he played from 1950 to 1957,
when he came home to Coffee County and started his furniture business.
He continued playing baseball in the Mountain Valley League and was a
sponsor of all Coffee County sports, and attended many sports events.

In addition to his parents, Wimpy was also preceded in death by his
sister, Lucille Carden. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of
67 years, Bobbie Jean Crosslin Carden; one son, Lloyd Carden, Jr.; one
brother, L.D. Carden and his wife, Margaret; two granddaughters, Abby
Carden Lynch and her husband, Joel, and Cassie Carden Patton and her
husband, Tyler; and two great-grandchildren, August Lynch and Granger
Neil Patton.
