12/27/17 — Claire Victoria Stugis

Funeral services for Ms. Claire Victoria Stugis, age 95, of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the service time at 11:00. Ms. Stugis passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Unity Medical Center.

Claire was born in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Jacob and Jeanette Wcislo, Sr. She was a cashier at Dominicks. Claire was a member of St. Bernard’s Parish in Homer Glen, IL for many years. She ran various senior citizen groups, was once named Woman of the Year in Homer Glen, and she loved animals and made frequent donations to the TLC Animal Shelter.

In addition to her parents, Claire is also preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob, Jr. and Stanley Wcislo; and one sister, Martha Wcislo. She is survived by her son; Joseph (Rita) Stugis; four grandchildren, Sally (Terry) Cordes, Danielle (Dan) Barth, Sandy (Scott) Parus, and Joseph (Heather) Stugis; nine great-grandchildren, Jaclyn (Chris) Fitzpatrick, Crystal (Richard) Shaw, Tyler Zemkawitz, Montana Cordes, Samantha Barth, Austin Barth, Marissa Parus, Grace Stugis, Joe Stugis; and two great-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Rowan Fitzpatrick.

12/17/17 — Pauline Ring White

Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Ring White, age 97, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Red Hill Church of Christ with Bro. Ralph Hart and Dr. Roger Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 Noon until time of services at the church.  Mrs. White passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester, TN.

Mrs. White was born in Bedford County, TN, the daughter of the late Willie North and Lillian McGregor Ring.  She was the bookkeeper and office manager at Al White Motors and a member of Red Hill Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pauline was also preceded in death by her husband, Rennie Alfred “Al” White; one brother and sister-in-law, J.D. and Eloise Ring; one twin sister, Alline Oldfield; one brother-in-law, Don Lovelady; and one grandchild, Joseph Andrew White.  She is survived by her son, Jerry Alfred (Mimi) White; one daughter, Nancy Kay (Roger) Davis; one sister, Betty Lovelady; six grandchildren, Jonathan Baxter (Leslie) White, Jennifer Holland (Brad) Baker, Thomas Alfred White, Andrea Kristen Davis, Tyler Braxton (Katy) Davis, and Lee Braeden Davis; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Braxton White, Coleman Thomas Baker, Mason James Baker, and Joseph McCauley Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

12/18/17 — James Devaughan Clayton

Funeral services for Mr. James Devaughan Clayton, age 87, of Manchester,
TN will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2017, at
Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Day officiating. Burial will
follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends
from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the funeral
home. Mr. Clayton passed away on Thursday, December 14 at his residence
surrounded by his loved ones.
Devaughan was born in Lawrence Co., TN, the son of the late Earl and
Velma Clayton. He was a welder for Pittsburg Demoin Steele, and a member
of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He had a knack for digging ginseng,
loved wood working, and could build or repair any type of furniture. He
was a mason for over 50 years in the Scottish Rite 33rd Degree.
In addition to his parents, Devaughan was preceded in death by one son,
Ricky Clayton; one brother, Michael Clayton; and one sister, Annette
Zumbro. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Clayton; two daughters,
Linda (Bobby) Duke and Devona (Bill) Dettinger; one step-son, David
Jones; one brother, Patrick Clayton; four grandchildren, Brant and Dane
Dettinger and Trent and Clay Duke; and three great-grandchildren, Austin,
Bailey, and Paisley Duke.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in James’s

12/16/17 — Ama Lee Graves

AMA LEE GRAVES, age 88, of Tullahoma, Tennessee, departed this life on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at NHC Tullahoma following an extended illness. Mrs. Graves was born in Telico Plains, Tenn., to the late Elisha Plemmons and Grace Saunders Plemmons on May 9, 1929. She was a homemaker and regularly made donations to her favorite charities.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, C.G. Graves and her son Virgil Graves. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Pratt and husband James of Tullahoma, 4-granddaughters, 3- grandsons, and 1-great granddaughter.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. CST, 2:00 P.M. EST, Saturday December 16, 2017, at Beaty’s Chapel Baptist Church cemetery in Tellico Plains, Tenn. with Bro. Larry Walker, officiating.

12/19/17 — Betty Carlee Smith

Mrs. Betty Carlee Smith, 88, passed away, Friday December 15,
2017 at the Alive Hospice Facility in Murfreesboro. She was born in Pelham,
Tennessee on June 25, 1929 to Francis and Betty Sartain Meeks who preceded
her in death along with her husband, James Smith; sisters, Louvina Burnett,
Rose Wilder and Nancy Hoskins; brothers, Robert, Blanton, Ernest, Samuel,
Uliss, James and Ellis Meeks; 4 older half-siblings, Alma Sartain, Lois
Myers, Norman Meeks and Francis Brown.

She was retired from the Burroughs Corporation in Plymouth, Michigan. She
was a member of the Bethel Community Church in Pelham.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Smith Groke, Hillsboro and Michelle
Lynn Smith, Manchester; son, James Terry (Debbie) Smith, Canton, Michigan;
brother, Henry Meeks, Joelton, Tennessee; grandchildren, Erin, Joseph,
Joel, Dane and Luke; great grandchildren, Brynn and Cullen; a host of
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel
with burial
to follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Pelham, Tennessee. Visitation: 4:00 PM
– 8:00 PM Monday at Central Funeral Home, Manchester, Tennessee.

12/19/17 — James Leonard Guffey

James Leonard Guffey, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, December
14, 2017 at his residence at the age of 91 years. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home with Bro. David Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Rose
Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 AM on
Tuesday.

Mr. Guffey, a native of Scottsboro, AL was the son of the late James Ivory
and Dovie Campbell Guffey. He was a U S Army veteran and enjoyed gardening
and tinkering. Mr. Guffey was a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn
Guffey; one son, John William Guffey; one daughter, Shirley May Guffey and
one grandson, Robert Adam Hill.

Mr. Guffey is survived by one son, James Raymond Guffey and his wife, Cindy
of Tullahoma; one daughter, June Hill and her husband, Robert of Tullahoma;
one sister, Maxine Pockrus of Tullahoma; two grandchildren, Michael Hill
and his wife, Molly of Winchester and Brittany Guffey of Tullahoma; six
great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

12/16/17–Danny L Gann

Danny L Gann, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, December 12, 2017
at the Waters of Winchester at the age of 56 years. A memorial service will
be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 4 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 PM.

Mr. Gann, a native of Tullahoma was born on March 8, 1961. He enjoyed
working on electronic devises, helping people and walking. He also loved
his cat, Bubba

He was preceded in death by his parents J R and Mattie Lee Tatum Gann and
brothers, James Gann Jr, Ricci Gann and Teddy Gann.

He is survived by two sons, Jason Gann and his wife, Ashley of Winchester
and Ronnie Gann and his wife, Irene of Estill Springs; brothers, Terry Gann
(Ann) of Linden and Toni Gann(Reba) of Lebanon; sisters, Carolyn Sawyer
(Bobby) of Lynchburg, Teresa Taylor (Charlie Horton) of Brush Creek, Donna
Gann(Rick Eakes) of Lavergne and Rosann Salyer (Steve Cummings) of
Murfreesboro; sister-in-laws, Connie Gann of Lascassas and Kathy Gann of
Tullahoma and nine grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Malachi Gann,
Briseida, Shalena and Sebastian Hernandez and Isaiah, Kingston and Khloe
Gann.

12/18/17–Archie W Harris

Archie W Harris, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, December 12,
2017 at his residence at the age of 47 years. A memorial service will be
held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 3 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM.

Mr. Harris, a native of Tullahoma was born on March 23, 1970. He enjoyed
reading his Bible.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Taylor Harris and Betty Spry
Baxter and sister, Samantha Walden.

He is survived by two children, Alan Harris and his wife, Katie of
Manchester and Ashley Majors and her husband, Christopher of Bay City, WI;
partner, Chad Prince of Tullahoma; brothers, Bobby Harris and his wife,
Karen of Shelbyville, Charlie Harris and his wife, Chassity of Manchester
and Dee Harris and his wife, Brianne of Mira Loma, CA; three sisters, Betty
Jean Ferrell of Estill Springs, Melinda Dudley of Tullahoma and Gail Evans
of Lynchburg and four grandchildren, Atticus and Crixus Majors and Allison
and Alexa Harris.

12/14/17–Joseph Grzych

Joseph Grzych, 92 of Manchester, TN passed away December 11, 2017 at the home of surviving daughter Diane (James) Nunley of Hillsboro, Tennessee. “Pops”, as he was known by all, is survived also by son Michael (Cherie) Grzych of Brighton, Michigan and their children, Michael Grzych of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Haley Grzych of Aurora, Illinois, as well as brother Henry Grzych of River Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife Constance of 65 years, and 8 siblings. He served during WWII in the US Coast Guard as a signalman on destroyer escorts and troop transport vessels as was proud to serve as a guard at the Statue of Liberty. Upon discharge he returned home to Detroit, Michigan where he worked in his own graphic arts business for 30 years, then worked an additional 25 years in his son’s digital print business. Love of color showed through the flowers he planted during retirement for his neighbors at the St. Charles condominium complex. His six cats and springtime tulips brought him great joy. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to his wonderful neighbors and the Servants Heart ministry from FBC Manchester for their encouragement, and to Marsha Collins who helped him remain independent up to the final week of life. Please make condolent contributions to the Coffee County Humane Society.

12/15/17 — Aaron Eugene Miller

Funeral services for Mr. Aaron Eugene Miller will be held on Friday,
December 15, 2017 at 1 PM at Central Funeral Home. Burial will follow in
Manchester City Cemetery. Visitation with the Miller family will be on
Thursday, December 14th from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Miller passed
away on Monday, December 11th at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville
after an extended illness.

Aaron was born on September 4, 1949 to the late H.A. “Shorty” Miller and
Peggy Ann Nobles Miller in McMinnville, TN. He served his country in the
United States Army from March of 1969 to March of 1975 when he received an
honorable discharge. He was an auctioneer for Century 21 of Winchester and
he was employed with the Coffee County Sheriffs Department. Aaron was a
lifelong member of the American Legion and the local VFW; a former Post 78
Commander; he had a passion for youth baseball serving as the former State
Director of the Little League and he also served on the Manchester
Recreation Committee. He also was a TSSAA umpire for 40+ years. He also
loved to golf.

In addition to his father, Aaron is preceded in death by one niece, Anna
Webb, and one brother-in-law, Bill Webb. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Miller of Manchester; son, Larry
Miller of Manchester; daughter, Erin Kehely (Willie Crowley) of Manchester;
one granddaughter, McKenna Kehely of Manchester; two sisters Patsy Webb of
Manchester and Jo Ann (Dirk) Simones of N.C.; and one nephew, Quinton
(Becca) Simones of N.C.
