1/4/18 — Paul McGonigal Gladney

Paul McGonigal Gladney of Tullahoma passed this life on Monday, January
1st, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma at the age of 90. Mr.
Gladney was born in Trenton, NJ to the late William and Susan Brick
Gladney. After graduating from Hamilton High School, and completing one
year of college, Mr. Gladney was drafted into the Army Air Corps (Air
Force) in 1945 where he served as a weapons superintendent until 1948.
After completing basic training at Keesler Air Force Base, he joined the
Air Guard in 1948. He also served one year during the Korean Conflict in
1950, and then went on to serve in the guard until 1985. In his 35+ years
of service, Mr. Gladney retired with the rank of Chief Master Sargent E8.
Mr. Gladney was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed
fishing, hunting, woodworking, traveling, and volunteered with Hospice of
the Highland Rim. He was also a member of the Tullahoma Kiwanis Club. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Gladney is preceded in death by his first
wife, Betty Stahl Gladney; three sons, Scotty, Billy, and David Gladney;
one daughter, Paula Gladney; three brothers, William Jr, Robert Joseph,
and Harry Gladney; and three sisters, Joan Harle, Pat Chapman, and
Barbara Gladney. He is survived by his wife, Joan Nelius Gladney of
Tullahoma; one sister, Diana Reynolds and her husband Gus of North
Carolina; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Gladney of Manchester; two
grandsons, Scott and Jeffrey Gladney; two great-grandsons, Ethan Scott
Paul, and Seth Lennick Gladney; four step-children, Patti Hartog and her
husband Larry of Louisville, KY, Andy Nelius and his wife Sharon of
Tullahoma, Sylvia Epley and her husband Scott of Tullahoma, and Craig
Nelius and his wife Leslee of Murfreesboro; 13 step-grandchildren, Alison
Hartog Stephens, Rachel Hartog Beachy, Ted Hartog, Sarah Beth, Eric, and
Andrew Nelius, Clint, Sam, Olivia, and Meg Epley, Jackson, Garrett, and
Grace Nelius; and one step-great-grandson Jack Stephens. Visitation for
Mr. Gladney will be held on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at Faith Lutheran
Church from 12:00-2:00pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at
2:00pm with Rev. Marty Nutter officiating. Burial with military honors
will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family
asks that donations in Paul’s memory be made to the Faith Lutheran Baby
Bib Fund, 101 Bragg Cir. Tullahoma, TN 37388; or to the Wounded Warrior

1/5/18 — Mary Charlotte Hartman

Mrs. Mary Charlotte Hartman, 75, passed away Sunday December
31, 2017 at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee. She was
born in Manchester, Tennessee on September 17, 1942 to Leon and Verda Ruth
Sartain Bryan who preceded her in death along with her sister, Dorothy
Winton; brothers, Bob and Edwin Bryan.

She was a resident of Franklin, Tennessee and had been an executive
secretary for Gaylord Opryland and Southern Land Construction. She was of
the Christian faith and enjoyed Ballroom dancing.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Jud) Clift; son, Brian (Jennifer)
Hartman; brother, Wayne (Pat) Bryan; sisters, Violet McMahan, Ann (Bob)
DeBerry, Carol McMahan, Sandra Simmons, Sylvia Walker and Sharon (Mervin)
Elam; grandchildren, Judson and Landon Clift, Emma and Jack Hartman;
several nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service with the family will be held 1:00 PM Friday in
the funeral home chapel with Minister Charles Hopkins officiating with
burial to follow in the Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery. Arrangements by:

1/3/18 — Austin C. Ferrell

Ferrell, Austin C., of Decherd, passed this life on Sunday, December
31st, 2017 at Lynchburg Nursing Center at the age of 91. Mr. Ferrell was
born in Smithville, Tennessee to the late John R. and Ella Lee Lawson
Ferrell. He was a retired Iron Worker with Arnold Engineering Development
Center and attended Vine Street Church of God in Tullahoma. In addition
to his parents, Mr. Ferrell was preceded in death by his first wife of 51
years, Dean Ferrell; three brothers, Clifton, E.J., and Clyde Ferrell;
and his second wife, Mary Ferrell. He is survived by three children,
Edith Darnell of Decherd, Sue Edens and her husband Hubert of Tullahoma,
and Milton Ferrell and his wife Diane of Lynchburg; six grandchildren,
Renaye Walls (Dale) of Decherd, Duane Darnell (Kandi) of Tullahoma, Jeff
Edens (Sylvia) of Tullahoma, Karrie Tucker (Curtis) of Winchester,
Shannon Cauble (Keith) of Lynchburg, and Heath Ferrell (Tammie) of
Lynchburg; six great-grandchildren, Austin Walls, Justin Darnell, Kaley
Owens, Lori Searcy, Casey Tucker, and Sam Cauble; six
great-great-grandchildren, Caroline Todd, Matthew Walls, Carlie Searcy,
Caden Searcy, Jeremiah Owens and Elijah Owens; one brother, Bratten
Ferrell of Tullahoma; and two sisters, Lou Dean Miller of Munsey, Indiana
and Ruthene Swain of Winchester. Visitation for Mr. Ferrell will be held
on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00pm
with the funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00pm with Bro. Ronnie
Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

1/2/18 — Thala Joann Sweeney

Funeral services for Ms. Thala Joann Sweeney, age 80 of
Manchester, will be held of Tuesday, January 2, 2017, at 3:30 PM at Central
Funeral Home chapel with Pastor John Amspaugh officiating. Burial will
follow in Mt. Carmel cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 11
AM until time of service at the funeral home. Ms. Sweeney passed away on
Sunday, December 31st at her home following an extended illness.

Ms. Joann was born on July 24, 1937, in Johnston City, IL, to the late
Arthur and Flora Anderson Parmley. She was a housewife who loved doing arts
and crafts, sewing, and was a excellent cook. She was a member of the First
Church of the Nazarene in Manchester.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Joann was preceded in death by her loving
husband of 56 years, Eugene Ervin Sweeney, and her daughter, Karen Joann
Sweeney; also preceding her in death are three brothers, Ernest, Richard,
and Charles Parmley. She is survived by her son, George Sweeney of
Manchester; granddaughter, Abriana Grace Sweeney; one brother, Millard
Parmley; and four sisters, Judy Randol, Pam Boyd, Linda Perry, and Peggy
Turner.

1/3/18 — Thomas Leonard McCormick, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Leonard McCormick, Sr., age 73, of Manchester, TN will be conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Manchester Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2. Mr. McCormick passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN.

Thomas was born in Coffee Co., TN, the son of the late Dennie and Sally McCormick. He was a mechanic, and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Thomas is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice McCormick; one brother, Melvin McCormick; four sister, Mary Lee Crumb, Gladys McCormick, Melvie McCormick, and Francis McCormick; and one grandchild, Kyle Kramer. He is survived by his two sons, Thomas McCormick, Jr. and Christopher (Teresa) McCormick; two daughters, Teresa (Kenneth) Dunn and Tabitha (James) Warrick; one brother, David (Judy) McCormick; two sisters, Katherine Young and Lillian Weddington; twenty-one grandchildren, Dana, Lisa, Cody, Mindy, Brittany, Thomas III, Josh, Megan, Jordan, Ryan, Riley, Dakota, Colby, Tracy, Jeremy, Mary, Balinda, Tiffany, Wesley, Cheyenne, and Madisyn; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

1/2/18 — Bobby Joe Reed

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Reed, age 74 of Manchester, will be
held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 2 PM in the Central Funeral Home
chapel with Bro. Paul Elam officiating. Burial will follow in the Elam
Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 11 AM Tuesday, until
time of service at the funeral home. Mr. Reed passed away on Friday,
December 29th at The Waters of Winchester.

Bobby Joe Reed was born on January 17, 1943, to the late Houston and Mae
Phillips Reed in Hillsboro, TN. He served his country in the United
States Army for seven years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening,
picking walnuts and pecans, and watching the TN Titans.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by one sister,
Patricia Lowery and daughter-in-law, Pam Reed. He is survived by his wife
of 45 years, Mrs. Georgie Ann Dean Reed; sons, Terry (Melissa), Allen
(Andrea), and Tim Reed, all of Manchester; grandchildren, Blake and
Brantley Reed, Brandon and Austin Reed, Casey and Janice Reed, and Curtis
Reed; great grandchildren, Lydia, Tinzlee, Mackenzie, and Levi.

1/01/18–Thomas Leon Zumbro

Thomas Leon Zumbro, age 57, of Manchester passed away Friday, December 29,
2017 at St. Thomas West Hospital. He was a native of Summerville,
Tennessee.

Survivors include his parents, Bobby & Nellie Thomas Zumbro of Manchester;
Sister, Susie Zumbro of Murfreesboro; Nieces & Nephews, Max (Sasha)
Wilkinson & Terra Davidson; and Great Nephew, Caden Wilkinson. Several
aunts, uncles, & cousins also survive.

Tommy was a member of the Baptist Church and was an accountant. He enjoyed
gardening and planting various kinds of fruits and vegetables.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM Monday, January 1, 2018 at First Baptist
Church of Woodbury with Bro. Wade Campbell officiating. Interment will
follow at Fredonia Cemetery in Manchester. Visitation with the family will
be from 12 Noon until the time of service on Monday, January 1, 2018 at
First Baptist Church of Woodbury.

help the family with funeral expenses.

1/02/18–Ronnie E. Bozman, Sr


Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie E. Bozeman, Sr., age 78 of Manchester, will be conducted on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Mr. Bozeman passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at McArthur Manor.

Ronnie was born on July 24, 1939 in Nashville, TN to the late Eddie and Ada Bozeman. He was a former Elder at Inglewood Presbyterian Church in Nashville. He retired from Ford Motor Company after working there for over 40 years. In former years, he was a member of the masonic lodge and UAW. Mr. Bozeman loved to bowl and was a coach for his grandson’s baseball team. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Bozeman, Doug Bozeman, Leonard Bozeman, William Bozeman, Shug Bozeman. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen Bozeman; son, Ronnie Bozeman, Jr.; daughter, Deborah Ann Bauman; grandchildren, Brittany Banks (Stephen), Jeffrey Osman; great-grandchildren, Finnlay Osman, Scarlett Osman and Rainey Hunt; brother, Gordon Bozeman; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. John Henry Burks, Jr “Hunsey” 70, of Winchester passed Sunday, December 24, 2017 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Simmons Burks, parents, John Henry and Josiephine Burks, brother, George Lewis Hill, brother-in-laws, Bobbie Simmons and Thad Hightower and step-father in law, Charles Johnson Sr.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: Son, John Lo’Anza (Shannon) Burks Sr, Daughters; Tamula “Prissi” (Antonio) Sales, Pastors Kimberly (Mark) Carter, Sr; Son, Mauricio Fuqua.
