1/11/18 — Todd Gerald Smith
Funeral services for Mr. Todd Gerald Smith, age 44, of Beechgrove, TN will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Manchester Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Mr. Smith passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018, at his residence.
Todd was born in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, the son of Elmer G. and Chickee “Marcelle” Smith. He worked as a security guard for Batesville Casket Company for over 13 years after graduating from Coffee County High School. Until his death he was a security guard at Heritage Farms in Murfreesboro, TN. His niece and nephews called him “Mr. Fix It” because he could fix anything.
Todd is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, George and Berta Francfort and Paul and Annie Clyde Smith. In addition to his devoted parents, Todd is also survived by two brothers, Tim (Angel) Smith and their children Andrew and Austin, and Toby (Rhonda) Smith and their daughter Kayla.

1/9/18 — Jerry Leon Allison
Mr. Jerry Leon Allison, 75, passed away, Friday January 5,
2018 at the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born
in Manchester, Tennessee on June 17, 1942.
He was retired from Batesville Casket Company.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Cordelia Sain
Ramsey and Elbert Ramsey; father and step-mother, Harley B. and Marion
Allison; sister, Elizabeth Davis.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Ann (L.V.) Shockley, Morrison, TN;
son, Craig (Ann) Allison, McMinnville, TN; step-brothers, Ron (Fay) Gilmer,
Franklin, TN and Jimmy Gilmer of Mississipi; mother of his children, Dot
Allison, Manchester, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jennifer Shockley, Miranda
Allison, Stephanie Lowrey and Harleigh Allison; 6 great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with
Minister Tony Ferrell officiating with burial to follow in the Asbury
Methodist Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday at Central

1/10/18 — Linda Mary Holder
Linda Mary Holder, of Manchester, passed this life on Friday, January 5,
2018 at the age of 77 years. Graveside Services are scheduled for
Wednesday, January 10 at 1 PM at Bethany Cemetery.
Mrs. Holder, a native of Rhode Island, was the daughter of the late William
and Mary Nason O’Brien. She was a U S Navy veteran and worked as a
typesetter for many years at IBM. After relocating to middle Tennessee she
worked in assembly at Carrier and later retired from there. Mrs. Holder was
an animal lover and worked closely with several humane societies to rescue
dogs, cats and other abandoned animals. She also enjoyed reading and
watching movies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
husband, Charles Joe Holder Jr.
Mrs. Holder is survived by four sons, Michael A Holder of Manchester, Mark
A Holder and his wife, Angela, Matthew A Holder and his wife, Tammy of
Tullahoma and Morgan A Holder and his wife, Megan of Manchester; thirteen
grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Amber, Derek, Cody, Sierra, Madison,
Elizabeth, Zachery, Jacob, Lexi, Aubrianna and Ayden and three great
grandchildren, Kylee, Jaythan and Carter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in
her honor to the Coffee County Humane Society.

1/7/18 — Layton Massey Morris
Layton Massey Morris, age 89, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, January 5,
2018 at his residence. Funeral Services are scheduled for Sunday, January
7, 2018 at 2 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home with Rev. David Adams officiating.
Burial will follow at Wagoner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday
beginning at 12 Noon.
A native of Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Layton L and Thelma
Massey Morris. Mr. Morris worked in Maintenance at Moore County Public
Works and Chrysler. He was a member of Friendship Methodist Church. He
and his late wife, Elizabeth Mae Morris were foster parents to many
children. He enjoyed going to Woodard’s everyday for breakfast and then
going to the Senior Citizens Center. He also loved going to church on
Sunday.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two
brothers, Charles and Thomas Morris.
He is survived by brother, Bill Ward and his wife, Peggy of Estill Springs;
sister, Nellie Daugherty and her husband, L C of Estill Springs and
sister-in-law, Frances Morris of Fayetteville.

1/14/18 — Jeffery Verne Carlisle
Jeffery Verne Carlisle, age 55, of Manchester, beloved son of Verne and Paulette Carlisle, passed away unexpectedly at his home and went to be with his lord on December 26, 2017.
In addition to his parents, he survived by one sister, Michelle (Stephen) George; one nephew, Chase (Lyndsey) Wells; one great nephew, Keith Wells; aunt, Carol (Tom) Allen, Dara (Alex) Kelso, Jackie Lusk, Lisa Rojas, uncle; Chris Boswell; and several cousins, friends, and coworkers. He is preceded in death by one aunt Verne (Joe) Banks; grandparents Verlon (Lucille) Carlisle and Tommie (Elsie) Boswell.
He was a nursing graduate of Motlow State Community College and was a devoted and loved nurse. He was employed at Manchester Health Care Center, and for most of his career he was an emergency room nurse.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday January 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM, with Benny Benjamin officiating. Family will receive guest Sunday January 14, 2018 at 2:00 until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Jeff underwent open-heart surgery there when he was two years old and his beloved great-nephew, Keith spent a month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit when he was born.

William G. Albert, 73 of Manchester, TN passed away on January 3, 2018 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro.
Mr. William Albert was born on January 21, 1944 in Knoxville, TN to the late William Franklin II and Genevieve Cruze. He attended Grainger Baptist church in Knoxville. William enjoyed driving a truck, playing dominos, and loved his animals.
Mr. William Albert is preceded in death by his parents; William Franklin II and Genevieve Cruze. William is survived by his loving wife Shirley Albert; two sons, Brandon Edwards and David Spears; one sister, Georgia Richards; one grandson, Landon Spears.

1/06/18–Brantley Randall Bush Dickerson
Funeral services for Baby Brantley Randall Bush Dickerson, age 12 days, of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Chip Sekulich officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Baby Brantley passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Centennial Medical Center.
Brantley was born in Nashville, TN, the son of Adrienne Bush and Bobby D. Dickerson. Even though he was only 12 days old, he stole the hearts of his friends and family instantly. He was a true fighter, and true miracle.
Brantley is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Donnie Hamby and Terry Randall (Vickie) Bush. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Phillip and Jennifer Bush; paternal grandparents, Bobby H. (Christy) Dickerson and Stacey Chaney; two uncles, Colton Bush and Brandon Dickerson; one aunt, Samantha Dickerson; great-grandparents, Thomas and Rebecca Major, Christine and Ivan Baxter, and Jackie Farless; one very special great-aunt, Lori Bush; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family.

1/06/18–Johnny Doyle (J.D.) White
Johnny Doyle (J.D.) White of Columbus, MS died Friday December 29, 2017 at
Vineyard Courts Nursing Center of natural causes.
He leaves his wife of 10 years, Wanda Floyd White of Columbus, MS, son
Randy White of San Francisco, CA, son Steven White of Chattanooga, TN,
daughter Lisa Sanders of Maryville, TN; 6 grandchildren, 2
great-grandchildren and many treasured nieces and nephews.
J.D. was proceeded in death by his loving wife Madyline Hamilton White
of Manchester, TN who passed in 2006 and his son Micheal White of
Branson, MO, from previous marriage to Debbie White, passed in 2017.
J.D. held many roles in his lifetime, but had 3 passions: his family,
Southern Gospel Music, and golf. He was a longtime member of multiple
Baptist churches in the various communities in which he lived,
including Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester, TN.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 4th at 2pm at
Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. Graveside service and burial
will be held on Saturday, January 6th at 2pm at Manchester City
Cemetery in Manchester, TN.

1/06/18–Winfred Eugene Johnson
Winfred Eugene Johnson, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 77. Mr. Johnson was born in Cocke County, Tennessee to the late William Delbert and Charlsie E. Allison Johnson. During his life he worked as an Instrument Technician at Arnold Engineering Development Center and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ramsey; a brother, Clarence Johnson; and one grandchild, Maricella Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Francis Johnson; three children, Vernon (Cindy) Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona, Gary (Jennifer) Johnson of Tullahoma, and Sharon (Jeremy) Guillory of Yuba City, California; two step-sons, Joseph Duane “JD” (Julie) Sargent of Cedar City, Utah, and Jason (Wanda) Sargent of Dyersburg, Tennessee; grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Alondra Johnson, Machelle (Adam) VanReenen, Kristin (David) Hunzicker, Brandon Johnson, Shelby, Claudia, and Jeremy Guillory, and Shelby and Rebekah Sargent; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Dave) Rice, Carolyn Lindsey, and Sandra (Vernon) Clevenger; and two brothers, William (Denise) Johnson and Dennis (RosaLee) Johnson. Visitation for Mr. Johnson will be held on Friday, January 5th, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00pm. 1/5/18 — William Edward Sartain
Funeral services for Mr. William Edward Sartain, age 68, of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Ham officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Mr. Sartain passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.
William was born in Pelham, TN, the son of the late Edison and Lida Mae Sartain. He was a truck driver for many years. William was a jokester, and he always enjoyed a laugh. He also loved watching UT football, The Andy Griffith Show, and American Pickers. Mr. Sartain was a collector of coins, enjoyed playing softball, and loved singing with his trucker family while on the road. His handle was “Door Jammer”. His friends and family call him the most devoted and unconditional loving person in the world.
In addition to his parents, William is also preceded in death by his three brothers, Martin, Thomas, and Dewey Sartain; and three sisters, Mary Sharp, Pearly Nunley, and Marlee Meeks. He is survived by his two daughters, Susan (Corey) Lindsey and Michelle Trussell; one brother, Willard (Yvonne) Sartain; two sisters, Annie Garner and Melba Smithey; four grandchildren, Matthew (Katie) Hodges, Tanner Trussell, Jacob Trussell, and Ben Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Jessie Hodges; his long term companion for 28 years, Helen Brown; her three children, Donna Harrell, Jeff Brown, and Jody Griffin; her grandchildren, Savannah Church, Eli Harrell, Kristina Brown, Stephanie Griffin, and Stacey Griffin; and her great-grandchildren, Paislei Church, Payton Church, Parker Tomberlin, Lilly Tomberlin, and Braxton Griffin.
