2/2/18 — Col. Max Lamont

Lamont, Col. Maximilian “Max”, of Tullahoma, passed this life on
Thursday, January 25th, 2108 at NHC at the age of 91. Col. Lamont was
born in St. Augustine, Florida to the late Albert and Elizabeth Burch
Lamont. He served as a PT Boat Combat Crew Member during World War II and
went onto serve during the Vietnam and Korean Eras as well. Col. Lamont
graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1949 and married the late
Hilma Anne Smeak shortly after. He served for 30 years as an Air Force
Officer and retired as a Colonel in September of 1979. Col. Lamont was
active in the Air Force Association and United Givers Fund of Coffee
County. He was a member of St. Barnabas Church in Tullahoma as well as
the Tullahoma Rotary, the Coffee County Election Commission and Lakewood
Golf and Country Club. In addition to his parents, Col. Lamont was
preceded in death by his wife Hilma Anne Smeak Lamont; and one sister,
Mary Wade. He is survived by two daughters, Hannah Lamont and her husband
Dr. William F. Messner of Freeport, Florida and Hilma Irene Lamont of
Loudon, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Heather Kidd and Adam Tambor; two
great-grandchildren, Dayanara E. Tambor and Jacob C. Tambor; and his
niece and nephew, Lamont Wade and Suzanne Wade. Visitation will be held
on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 3:00-5:00pm
with a memorial service to follow at 5:00pm with Father Michael Murphy
officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donation be made
either to Virginia Military Institue, P.O. Box  932, Lexington,
Virginia 24450 or PT Boat Museum, Battle Ship Cove, 5 Water Street, Fall
River Massachusetts 02721.

2/3/18 — Jerry Allen Haley

Haley, Jerry Allen, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday,
January 25th, 2018 at his home at the age of 68. Mr. Haley was born in
Woodbury, Tennessee to the late Alonzo and Elva Ferrell Haley. During his
life he worked as a Computer Programmer with Sverdrup and loved NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Haley is preceded in death by two
brothers, Kendall and David Haley; and one sister, Mary Teal. Mr. Haley
is survived by his daughter, Meredith Swann and her husband Jedd of
Decherd; two sons, Gregory Allen Haley and his wife Karen of Chicago and
Joshua Haley and his wife Sylvia of Austin, Texas; one brother, Wayne
Haley and his wife Helen of North Carolina; one grandchild, Calum Haley;
and three granddogs, Oliver, Olivia and Omaha. Visitation for Mr. Haley
will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from
5:00-7:00pm.

Lynn Thomas Scott

Lynn Thomas Scott, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018
at Tennova Healthcare – Harton at the age of 71 years. No services are
scheduled.

Mr. Scott, a native of Fayetteville, was the son of the late Robert H. and
Mary Pollock Scott. He enjoyed working on his farm and attending farm
implement auctions.

He is survived by two sons, Rory Scott and his wife, Michelle of Nashville
and Alex Scott and his wife, Jennifer of Lynchburg; daughter, Shana Parker
and her husband, Chris of Fayetteville; brother, Buddy Scott of
Fayetteville; sister, Bobby Clevenger of Fayetteville; five grandchildren,
Kevin, Allison, AJ, Craig and Kellie and six great grandchildren.

2/3/18 — Cordell Winston Garner

CORDELL WINSTON GARNER, age 73, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., losing his battle with cancer. Mr. Garner was born on June 4, 1944, to the late Lawrence B. Garner and Huldah Fowlkes Garner in Sherwood, Tenn. Mr. Garner was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Safety Specialist and retired after 23 years. He was then employed at A.E.D.C. in Tullahoma for 15 years as a Test Instrument Technician. Mr. Garner enjoyed Barbequing at home and playing cards. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and “Papa”. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Lawrence, Bobby D. and Leon Garner and sisters; Catherine Stevens, Vera Johnson, Mary Etta Taylor, Linda Stevens, and Brenda Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Garner of Winchester, daughters; Cari Gowin and husband, Mike of Ringgold, Ga., Linda Spangler of Virginia Beach, Va., 4-Grandchildren; Felicia Hill of Winchester, Shawna Hill of Winchester, Billy Fann of Estill Springs, Faith Spangler of Virginia Beach, Va., 8-Great-Grandchildren, sisters; Elizabeth Davenport of Chattsworth, Ga., and Betty Roberts of Cowan, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Garner will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday Evening, February 2, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services for Mr. Garner are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 3, 2018, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services, with Pastor Laneir Singleton, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester with Military Honors bestowed. Serving as pallbearers are Labrone Shetters, Jeremy Powers, Dylan DuBois, Larry Garner, David Johnson and Joshua Stephens.

1/31/18 — Jesse Whittemore

Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Whittemore, age 86, of Manchester, TN will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. Benny Benjamin officiating. Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Mr. Whittemore passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Autumn Oaks in Manchester, TN.

Jesse was born in Cannon Co., TN, the son of the late Nute and Maggie Whittemore. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, joining in 1951. In his later life, Jesse enjoyed farming, raising his pigs and cows, and working 25 years for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department.

In addition to his parents, Jesse is also preceded in death by his five sisters, Willie Mae Holden, Lucy Volner, Juanita Vickers, Martha Jean Duke, and Georgia Judkins; one grandson, Derek Adams. He is survived by his two daughters, Sherry (Richard) Swann and Terry (Donald) Adams; one grandson, Chris Swann; and two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Will Swann.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made in Jesse’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, or a charity of your choice.

1/31/18 — Nell Newman Pedigo

Funeral services for Mrs. Nell Newman Pedigo, age 90, of Hillsboro, TN will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Manchester Funeral Home with Brother Bill Williams and Brother Reid Perry officiating. Burial will follow in New Brick Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on January 30, 2018, from 4:00 until 9:00 PM. Mrs. Pedigo passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Mrs. Pedigo was born in Decherd, TN, the daughter of the late William and Sally Newman. Mrs. Pedigo was a library assistant for Coffee County Middle School.

In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Richard Pedigo; two brothers; William Calvin (Nenny) Newman Jr., Harris Newman; one sister; Willie Ruth Zavatchen. Mrs. Nell is survived by one son; Joe Keith (Dorothy B.) Pedigo; One daughter, Gwendolyn Kay Pedigo; one brother, George Wayne Newman; two sisters, Mildred Casteel and Betty Fraley; two grandchildren, Joseph Scott Pedigo and Julie Elizabeth (Matt) Bowling; and one great grandchild, Catherine Rose Bowling.

Mrs. Nell supported various charities and gratefully requests that memorial contributions be made to Coffee County Educational Foundation, Franklin County Christian Memorial Foundation, Tennessee Children’s Home, and Happy Haven Homes, Inc.

2/2/18 — Eileen C. Stoner

Eileen C Stoner, of Manchester, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at
Unity Medical Center at the age of 82 years. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2 PM at the Daves-Culbertson
Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
The
family will receive visitors beginning at 12 PM.

Eileen, a native of Delaware, OH, was the daughter of the late Myron and
Jessie Dennis. Her favorite times were spent with family, especially
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her
flower garden. She had a special love for her cats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Frederick C Stoner; daughter, Cathie McKenzie; sisters, Marilyn Hughes and
Nancy Hill and half-brother, Mike Brown.

She is survived by two sons, Freddie Stoner of Hillsboro and Dannie Stoner
of Manchester; daughter, Debbie Marks of Altus, OK; thirteen grandchildren;
twenty nine great grandchildren and one and one on the way, great great
grandchildren.

2/1/18 — Timothy James McMillan

Timothy James McMillan of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the age of 30 years. Memorial Services are scheduled for Thursday, February 1, 1018 at 5 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors beginning at 4 PM.
Mr. McMillan, a native of St. Petersburg, FL, he was the son of the late Scott McMillan and Carrie Steedley McMillan of St. Petersburg, FL. He enjoyed playing video games, hiking and rebuilding model airplanes. He was a good friend and would help anyone.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by grandmother, Karen Zukosky of Tullahoma; great grandmother, Daisy Robinette of Tullahoma; sisters, Chrystal McMillan of Tullahoma and Pamela Holt and her husband, David of Tullahoma; nieces, Sophie, Sherry and Abby; nephew, Joe; “father figure”, Robert “PopPop” Alexander of Normandy and many close relatives and good friends.

2/3/18 — Judith “Jude” E. Perham

Judith “Jude” E Perham of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her residence at the age of 77 years. Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2 PM at the Life Change Church, 414 Wilson Avenue, Tullahoma, TN. 37388.
Mrs. Perham, a native of Grand Rapids, MI was the daughter of the late Richard Eugene and Dorothy Moore Wilson. She was an Administrative Assistant with Bissell Home Care Products. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tullahoma where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Perham was a very crafty person who enjoyed painting, decorating cakes and building birdhouses. She also enjoyed writing and had an article published while living in Michigan concerning the building of her grandfather’s cabin. She also enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Marijohn Elizabeth Perham and one sister, Susan Wilson.
Mrs. Perham is survived by her husband, John Perham of Tullahoma; two sons, Richard Sutterfield and his wife, Tracey of Otsego, MI and Vince Smith and his wife, LouAnn of Bell Buckle; one daughter, Kim McCaleb and her husband, Scott of Winfield, AL; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

1/29/18 — Charles Willis O’Neal

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Willis O’Neal, age 70 of Murfreesboro, will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Mr. O’Neal passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018.

Charles was born on August 4, 1947 in Coffee County to the late, Charles Edward O’Neal and Jo Willis O’Neal Whiteaker. He retired from the paving industry and was always proud of his work. Hunting, golfing and fishing were the things that he enjoyed, but most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survived by his son, Justin O’Neal and wife Sara; daughter, Jody Wrather and husband Michael; grandchildren, Morgan and Parker O’Neal, Harrison, Sumner and Katie Wrather; several cousins and many friends.
