3/24/18 — Donald Ellis

A memorial service visitation for Mr. Donald “Don” Alvin Ellis, age 80 of Manchester will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 5-7pm at Central Funeral Home. Mr. Ellis passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma after an extended illness.

Mr. Ellis was born on April 22, 1937, to the late Sam Louis Ellis and Rena Capella Ellis in St. Augustine, Fl. He was a retired iron worker and a member of the Ironworkers Union 492 in Nashville. He loved woodworking, fishing, and painting cars. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Ellis.

Don is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma Jean Waters Ellis; two sons, David Ellis and wife Crystal of Manchester, and Dean Ellis and wife Delores of New Smyrna Beach FL; one daughter, Dawn Bellomy and husband, David of Manchester; grandchildren, Riley Bellomy, Vonda Smith, Scott Ellis, and Deanna Ellis; great grandchildren, Conner and Chloe Smith, and Hunter Ellis; one brother, Joseph Ellis of New Orleans, LA and a host of friends.

3/22/18 — Susie Ellsworth

Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Ellsworth, age 95, of Normandy, TN, will
be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Manchester Funeral
Home. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery in Morrison, TN.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on
Wednesday, March 21 at the funeral home. Mrs. Ellsworth passed away on
March 17, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.

Susie was born in Warren County, TN, the daughter of the late John and
Mary Basham Pelham. She was a cook and janitor for Coffee County School
System.

In addition to her parents, Susie was also preceded in death by her
husband, Ira Ellsworth; two sons, Ira Ellsworth, Jr. and John Perry
Ellsworth; four brothers, Hiram, Dorsey, Levi and Lawton Pelham; four
sisters, Mazel Roach, Jane Jones, Margaret Coppinger, and Daisy Pelham;
one grandchild, Steven Uselton; and one great grandchild, Shane Uselton.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary (Wayne) England and Cherry Smith,
both of Manchester, Rena Sue Land and Brenda March, both of Tullahoma;
eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and ten great, great
grandchildren.

3/22/18 — Patrick Lee Elkins

Patrick Lee Elkins of Tullahoma passed this life on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the age of 56 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 until 2:00 PM
Mr. Elkins, a native of Charleston Kanowha, West Virginia, was the son of George U. Elkins of LaRvae, Ohio and Mary Brown of Estill Springs, Tennessee. He worked in construction and enjoyed golf, music and was a big fan of the Florida Gators and Dallas Cowboys football.
Mr. Elkins was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Elkins.
He is survived by his wife, Harvetta Elkins; three daughters, Jessica Johnson, Ashton Owens and Cheyenne Elkins and 2 step-daughters and 2 step-sons; three sisters, Karen Jenner and husband Larry, Linda Smith and husband Dale and Trish Maceyko and husband Tim; one brother, Adam Scott English; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews as well as special friends, David Maddox and Jerry Martin.

3/23/18–Clifford Allison

Mr. Clifford Allison 94, of Shelbyville passed Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at his residence.

He was born to the late Angie and Richard Allison. He was married to the late Mai Lee Sims Allison.

He served faithfully in the United States Army where he served World War II and traveled throughout Europe. He was also at the Normandy Beach invasion.

Mr. Allison loved his music which he was passionate about jazz.

He retired from Eaton Corporation and loved the Funeral Industry. He was a loyal and dedicated employee at J.A. Welton & Son Funeral Home.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Allison and granddaughter, Angel Allison and grandson, Andrew Richilen; Nephew, Gary Allison, two cousins, Becky Calvin and Sue Sims and host of nieces, nephews, and devoted friends, Bro. and Sis Giles and his veteran buddies.

He will lie in state, Friday, March 23, 2018 from 10:30 -1:00 pm at Bright Temple Church of God in Christ. Funeral Services to follow at 1:00 pm at Bright Temple Church of God in Christ with Pastor Jason Scales as Eulogist.

3/20/18–VICTORIA JEAN BAUGUS

VICTORIA JEAN BAUGUS, age 63, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following an extended illness. Ms. Baugus was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late James Alex Vaughan and Victoria Maziarz Vaughan on May 6, 1953. She was a Christian. She was employed in hotel management for several years before she became disabled. Mrs. Baugus enjoyed writing, singing, listening to Christian music and reading her Bible. She was known to be a good listener. She loved all different kinds of animals.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baugus was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Vaughan. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Baugus of Winchester, Mother, Victoria Vaughan of Belvidere, son, Jason D. Vaughan and wife, Tiffany of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., grandchildren; Courtney, Denice and Jason Vaughan, II, great-grandchildren; Madison Hunt and Paizley Davidson.

Services for Mrs. Baugus will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, March 20, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Visitation from 4:00-6:00 prior to the service.

3/21/18–Hazel Banks Denney

Funeral service for Mrs. Hazel Banks Denney, age 92, of Manchester, TN, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Manchester Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Marcrom and Bro. Milton Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 20 at the funeral home. Mrs. Denney passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Manchester, TN.

Hazel was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Andrew and Throna Mae Haley Banks. She was a homemaker and a member of Fredonia Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Denney; and one brother, Horace Banks. She is survived by two brothers, William and Joe Banks; niece and caretakers, Marilyn (Steve) Burt; nephews, Jimmy (Doris) Banks, Manuel (Darlene) Banks, Michael (Shannon) Banks; nieces, Sue (Ron) Hill, Sheila Reed; several great-nephews and great-nieces; several great-great nephews and great-great nieces.

3/20/18 — Edward David Ferrell

Mr. Edward David Ferrell, 79, passed away, Saturday March 17,
2018 at McArthur Manor. He was born in Tullahoma, Tennessee on March 2,
1939 to James and Ruby Bennett Ferrell who preceded him in death along with
his sister, Lillian Broderick.

He was a Founding member of the Manchester Bible Methodist Church and had
been a life insurance salesman. He loved to fish, specializing in catfish.

He loved his Church, his family and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Stevens Ferrell; son, David (Sherry)
Ferrell Jr., Lynchburg; daughter, Sharon K. (Gordon) Sutherland, Estill
Springs; brother, Tommy Ferrell, Illinois; sister, Patsy (Preston) Brown,
Chattanooga; step-children, Mike (Sara) Calahan, Shelbyville, Jackie
(George) Houk, Murfreesboro, Trudy (Mark) Lutrell, Dyersburg, Deborah Wiser
and Sharon (Ricky) Arnold, Hillsboro; a host of grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday March 20, 2018 in the Central
Funeral Home chapel with Minsiters, Tom Watkins and Spencer Van Order
officiating with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in

Howard David Amos

Howard David Amos, of Estill Springs passed this life on Saturday, March
17, 2018 at his residence at the age of 70 years. No services are scheduled.

Mr. Amos, a native of Tullahoma, was the son of the late Richard Howard and
Margaret Inez Preston Amos. He was a U S Army veteran and worked as a
truck driver. He was a naturalistic spiritualist. He loved nature and was
a very quiet even tempered man. He loved sitting on his porch enjoying the
quiet and watching the birds and animals. He also enjoyed woodworking. He
was also very active in the Haitian Relief effort after the devastating
effects of the hurricanes in Haiti.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Seth Amos.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Amos of Estill Springs; daughters,
Carla Vaughn and her husband, Randy of Tullahoma and Diona Eatherly and her
husband, Jason Willis of Estill Springs; brother, Dwight Amos and his wife,
Debbie of Tullahoma and five grandchildren.

3/18/18 — Rudy Newby

Newby, Rudolph B. “Rudy”, of Tullahoma, passed this life on
Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 at his home at the age of 94. Mr. Newby was
born in Warren County Tennessee in the Daylight community to the late Sam
H. and Bertha E. Newby. He served his country in the United States Army
during World War II and went on to work as an Insurance Agent with
Kentucky Central Insurance. Mr. Newby was a long-time member of First
Baptist Church in Tullahoma where he had served as a Deacon and Trustee.
He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Life Underwriters. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florene
Newby; one son, George Stephen Newby; one daughter, Claudia Reed Newby;
brothers, G.W. Newby, his twin, Randolph Newby, J. Paul Newby and
Clayburn Robinson; and sisters, Lowry Turner, Rowena Boyd, and Jim Newby
Robinson. Mr. Newby is survived by his daughter, Libby Sohrabi and her
husband Nader of Wartrace; grandchildren, Erin Carner and her husband
Matt, Allison Newby, Nick Sohrabi and his wife Melissa, Evan Sohrabi and
his wife Heather, and Carrie Miller and her husband Jesse; and
great-grandchildren, Jackson, Shepherd and Allison Carner, June, Ivy,
Audrey and Owen Sohrabi and Mason and Ella Miller. Visitation will be
held on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from
5:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 18th, 2018 at
2:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Andy Stallings and
Kevin Ivy officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

3/23/18 — Nathan Bradford Strain

Nathan Bradford Strain of Tullahoma passed this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his residence at the age of 68 years. A Remembrance Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
Mr. Strain, a native of Hogansville, GA, was the son of the late Edward Eugene and Jane Maddox Strain. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tullahoma. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed woodworking. He had played basketball in high school and enjoyed sharing his many memories. He was also a baseball fan and his favorite team to watch was the Atlanta Braves. He was also a Civil War buff and enjoyed reading and studying about the war. He also loved English Bulldogs and was the proud owner of several during the years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Maddox Strain and Clifford Alan Strain.
He is survived by two sons, Benjamin Brock Strain and his wife, Juanita of Murfreesboro and Fielder Williams Strain and his wife, Angela of Nashville; three daughters, Cora Strain Proctor and her husband, Jason of Murfreesboro, Katherine Elizabeth Strain of Tullahoma and Helen O’Connor Strain of Tullahoma; ex-wife and good friend, Monica “Kristy” Strain of Tullahoma; brother, Edward “Ebbie” Eugene Strain and his wife, Barbara of Cornelia, GA and three grandchildren, Harrison, Jackson and Lillian.
