4/5/18 — Lula Mae Anderson

Mrs. Lula Mae Anderson, 74, passed away, Thursday, April 5,
2018 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in
Woodbury, Tennessee on May 31, 1943 to M.L. and Mary Arnold Wiser who
preceded her in death along with her sister, Benita Campbell.

She was employed for 43 Tennessee Appairel in Tullhoma.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Oscar Anderson; sons, Dwayne
(Donna) Anderson and Jeff Anderson; sisters, Mary Florence Anderson and
Martha Ann Gardner; brother, Howard Wiser; grandchildren, Jeffery Landon
Anderson Sr., and Christine Leann (Thomas) Hastings; great grandson,
Jeffery Landon Anderson, Jr. and expecting another grandchild in October;
several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with
Minister Mike Anderson officiating with burial to follow in the Jernigan

4/6/18 — Daniel James Michaels

Funeral services for Mr. Daniel James Michaels, age 63 of Murfreesboro, will be conducted on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Manchester Funeral Home with Brother Allen Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Mr. Michaels passed away peacefully with his wife holding his hand on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Daniel was born on December 3, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Valentine and Gladys Michaels. He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ and retired as a machinist from Greer Stop Nut after 30 years of service. Mr. Michaels enjoyed working on small engines, riding dirt bikes, and spending time with his godsons.

Survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Angela Michaels; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and June McCullough of Shady Grove, TN; godsons, Daniel Groce of Christiana, TN and Chris Groce of Japan; brothers, Valentine Michaels, Jr. “Mickey” of Texas, Robert Michaels of Atlanta; sisters, Jeananne Hitchcock, Merri Ann Gerke (Walter), Jaclyn Michaels all of Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Kent McCullough (Roxanne) of Shady Grove, TN; sister-in-law, Janet Thornton (Paul) of Manchester, TN; best friend, Randy Groce (Dianne) of Christiana, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Bramblett Brown, age 87 of Hillsboro, will be conducted on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Hillsboro First United Methodist Church with Reverend Chris Haynes and Reverend John Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro First United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Manchester Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Tennova- Harton Healthcare.

Helen was born on December 31, 1930 in Hillsboro, TN to the late Wendell and Maultie Bramblett. She was of the Methodist faith and was a faithful member of Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brown was a charter board member of the Coffee County Public Library, was always active in the PTA at Hillsboro Elementary School, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, reading and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harold Mead Brown; son, Tom Brown; brother, John Bramblett; brothers-in-law, Joe Elam, John Powers, Charles Badgett, Bob Brown (Virginia); grandson, Trenton Gustafson; great-grandsons, Matthew Robet Brown, Jr., Denton Brown. 4/5/18 — Regina D. “Cookie” Brassfield

Mrs. Regina D. “Cookie” Brassfield, 76, passed away,
Saturday March 31, 2018, at the Tennova Heatlhcare Harton in Tullahoma,
Tennessee. She was born in Saint Charles, Missouri on July 9, 1941, to
Arthur Bradley and Regina Kelly Bradley who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Manchester First United Methodist Church and the
Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. She was a radiology technician working in
local
hospitals in Coffee County and retired from Tullahoma Orthopedic and Sports
Medicine, where she worked for over 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Brassfield; sons, Michael (Julie)
Giffin, Manchester, and Steven (Amy) Giffin, Fayetteville; step-daughter,
Kristie Michelle (Steve) Holt; step-sons, Joe Lee (Kim) Brassfield, William
Allen (Tammy) Brassfield and Jason Scot (Jill) Brassfield; sister, Janice
Bradley (Bob) Murphy, LaGrange, Georgia; brother, Arthur Thomas (Gypsy
Harrell) Bradley, Knoxville, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 6 great
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with
Minister Billy Robison, officiating and her son, Michael Giffin, speaking,
with burial to follow in the Praire Plains Church of Christ Cemetery.

4/4/18 — Brenda Carol Guess Green

Funeral services for Ms. Brenda Carol Guess Green, age 59 of Manchester,
will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 1 PM at Central Funeral Home
with Bishop Jimmy Tyson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill
Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin at 11 AM until time
of service on Wednesday. Ms. Green passed away on Saturday, March 31 at her
home following an extended illness.

Ms. Green was born on October 11, 1958, to George Guess and Patricia
Collins Guess in Amherst, OH. She was a factory worker for Johnsons
Control. She enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, watching soap operas and
taking care of her beloved pets, Nelly, Tidbit, and her numerous cats.
Brenda’s greatest joy was being with her grandchildren.

Brenda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Brian and Flossy Guess and
Conrad and Georgia Moss, all of Bridgeport, AL, and a nephew, Kevin Newlin
of Manchester.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is survived by her three daughters’
Sandy (Brian) Schmahl, Shanda (Titus) Simmons, and Sheena Green (Thomas
Davis), all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Colby Hooie, Addison and Cooper
Schmahl, Shanice and Aaliyah Green, Trinity Waggoner, Totianna and Tatumn
Davis, and Tariq Davis; sisters, Robyn (Jimmy) Tanner of Murfreesboro, Lisa
Newlin of Manchester, and Kathy (Scott) Orr of Bourbon, MO; nephews and
nieces, Kyle (Tina) Newlin of Manchester, Brenna Tanner of Murfreesboro,
Whitney (Matt) Howland of Manchester, Brandon (Ellie) Orr of Bourbon, MO,
Blake (Alyssa) Orr of Bourbon, MO, Logan (Wade) Guffey of Bell, MO; and a
host of friends.

4/4/2018–Marie Bumpas


Marie Bumpas, age 60, of Woodbury passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at
St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was a native of Madisonville, KY.

Survivors include her sisters, Carolene Dunkerson of Milton, Judy Dyer of
Murfreesboro, Kay Bumpas, and Faye Bumpas, both of Woodbury; Special
Friends, Betty Gilley of Woodbury and Michael, Kim, & Zoe Nichols of
Bradyville. Also surviving are 4 nephews, 2 nieces, and 13 great nieces &
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Nellie Hughes Bumpas.

Marie was employed as a machine operator at Val Dor for many years and was a
member of the New Life Church in Manchester. She enjoyed crocheting and
going to gospel singings.

Funeral Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the Chapel of
Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Howard Carroll & Bro. David Siler
officiating. Interment will follow at Prater Cemetery. Visitation with the
family will be from 4 to 9 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include James, Marty, Steven, & Brandon Dunkerson, Gary “Bubba”

4/3/18 — Wilda Jean Bean

Wilda Jean Bean, 83, passed away, Sunday April 1, 2018 at her
home with her family at her bedside. She was born in Hillsboro, Tennessee
on November 15, 1934 to Emmitt C. Brown and Claytia Baker Brown who
preceded her in death along with her sisters, Ollie Mae Casteel and Bertia
Clay Croslin; husband, Louie Bean.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester and currently
worked at First National Bank in Manchester.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Bob) Argraves, Manchester and
Barbara Hambrick, Tullahoma; sisters, Juanita Rogers and Elwanda Swinford;
5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Fredonia
Cemetery in Manchester with Dr. Brenton Cox officiating. Visitation: 5:00
PM – 9:00 PM Monday and 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Tuesday in the parlors of

Funeral Services for Eddith E. Smith Johnson, 91 of Manchester, TN, will
be conducted on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 2:00PM at Coffee County Funeral
Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will
receive guest from 11AM Until service time at Coffee County Funeral
Chapel. Ms. Eddith passed away peacefully at Tennova Healthcare- Harton,
March 30, 2018. She was a resident of Manchester for approximately 25
years. She was born and raised in Parrottsville, TN where she met the
love of her life, Oren W. Johnson. Ms. Johnson became an “Army Wife” in
November of 1948, they traveled all over the greater southeast, calling
many states’ home. Eddith worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratories and
retired from Electro-Voice. In addition to her husband and sons she loved
to read and watch the Atlanta Braves. She wrote for the Newport Plain
Talk and was an avid storyteller. Edith spent many painstaking years
recording her family genealogy which she so graciously left for her
family. She was a Christian in the Baptist faith.

Eddith is preceded in death by her parents, Paul R. Smith and Bessie
Freshour Smith; husband, Oren (Bill) Johnson. She is survived by sons,
Oren (Karen) Johnson of Decatur, GA, Alan (Cindy) Johnson of Manchester,
TN; brother, W.C Smith of Parrottsville, TN; sister, Paula (Liston) Sane
of Parrottsville, TN; two precious grandsons whom she adored, Eliot D.
Johnson and Andrew W. Johnson; and several nieces and nephews; furry
children, Callie and Boy.

The family of Ms. Johnson would like to express their sincere gratitude
to Dr. Sanders and the critical care staff at Tennova Healthcare- Harton
for the wonderful care and kindness showed to our mother. We would also
like to thank the ladies at the Coffee County Lannom Memorial Library for
their many years of friendship and helping locate thousands of books she
read. Finally, to all of Eddith’s many wonderful friends and neighbors,
you enriched her long wonderful life with your visits, calls, letters and
know that she loved you all very much.

4/3/18 — Joy M. Cunningham Janey

Joy M Cunningham Janey passed this life on Friday, March 30, 2018 at her
mother’s residence in Shelbyville at the age of 47. Funeral services are
scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 1 PM with burial to follow at
Willow Mount Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12
Noon.

Mrs. Janey, a native of Bedford County, was the daughter of the late Jerry
Cunningham and Joyce Cunningham of Shelbyville. She was a 1989 graduate of
Central High School in Shelbyville. She also attended Nossi College of Art
in Madison and Goodlettsville earning a degree in fine arts. She had
worked at the Bedford County Nursing Home, was a 1990 Census taker and also
worked at the Bedford County Rescue Unit. She was a member of the Bedford
County and Winchester Art Guilds. She also like to travel.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by step-son, David
Janey.

She is survived by her husband, William Janey of Belvidere; her mother,
Joyce Donnell Cunningham of Shelbyville; step-daughter, Laura Mullins of
Mississippi; uncle, Alton Barnes and his wife, Edna of Shelbyville and
numerous cousins.

Brenda Lou Todd

Brenda Lou Todd, age 68, of Pelham, TN, passed away on Friday, March 30,
2018 at Southern Tennessee Hospital in Winchester, TN. A memorial
service will be held at a later date.

Brenda was born in Woodbury, TN and was a dedicated newspaper deliverer
for 40 years. She enjoyed watching movies, going to flea markets,
helping others, and spending time with friends and family.

Brenda was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Todd; an aunt, Bettie
Todd; and an uncle, Tom Todd. She is survived by many friends, including
Jamie (Alex) and Ellie Eskew, Jordan Allen, Tammy (Trent) Buckner,
Rebecca Woodlee, Sandy Laxson, Jennifer Webb and kids, Joyce Brown, Bill
and Tammy Parker, and many more close friends in Manchester, Pelham and
Woodbury.
