Opal Brooks

Opal Brooks of Tullahoma passed this life on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at
NHC of Tullahoma at the age of 88. Memorial services will be held at a
later time.

A native of Chattanooga, she was the daughter of the late Charles David
Thacker and Bertha McManus Thacker. She enjoyed traveling, decorating,
cooking and being with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry
Brooks.

Opal is survived by her son, David Brooks (Leda) of Tullahoma; daughters,
Renee Oakley (Jim) of Tullahoma and Jan Jewett of Las Vegas; grandchildren,
Codey Brooks (Shelby), Tiffany Phillips and Scott Phillips (Stacy) and five
great-grandchildren.

Stevie Underwood

Stevie Underwood, age 34, passed this life at Vanderbilt Hospital in
Nashville. There are no services scheduled for this time.

She enjoyed art, photography, listening to music and going to concerts.

Stevie was preceded in death by her mother, Sandy Underwood.

She is survived by her father, Danny Underwood and daughter, Alejandra.

Carl Thomas Roberts

Mr. Carl Thomas Roberts, age 61, of Manchester, TN, passed from the life on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in Murfreesboro, TN.

Mr. Roberts was born in Manchester, TN, to his late parents Elmo Forest
Roberts and Wilma Jean Tucker Roberts. He was a self employed truck driver
and was also a veteran of 18 1/2 years of the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Roberts was an avid gun collector and enjoyed anything to do with guns.
He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Roberts loved his grandchildren and his
children very much. He was a loving brother, husband, and father and will
be deeply missed.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 43 years, Melanie Roberts; sons,
Thomas Wesley (Destiny) Roberts and Anthony Nathaniel Roberts; daughter,
Alisha Elizabeth Dawn Roberts; sister, Shirley (Richard) Williams;
grandchildren, Cadence Marie Roberts, Haley Jordan Roberts, Lorelei
Elizabeth Roberts; nephews, Daniel Kurt Edmondson and Richard Grier “JR”
Williams, Jr.; mother and father-in-law, Kittrell and Parilee Parker;
brother-in-law, Stephen Robert Parker.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022, from
5:00pm until 9:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN.

Sharon Leigh Kjosa

Sharon Leigh Kjosa of Tullahoma passed this life on Tuesday, February 15,
2022 at her residence at the age of 64. No services are scheduled.

A native of Doylestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Leroy and
Louise Emeline Herwig Finney.  She was a U S Air Force veteran and enjoyed
listening to music and going on shopping trips with her friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Leroy
Finney.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Walter Kjosa; sons, Shawn and Timothy
Stappen and Shawn Kjosa (Carly); daughter, Renee; brother, Johnny Finney;
sisters, Cindy and Karen Finney and six grandchildren.

Floydaline “Flo” Ingleburger McCurry

McCurry, Floydaline “Flo” Ingleburger , age 87, formerly of Estill Springs, passed away on Saturday, February 12 th , 2022. Flo was a member of Christ the King Anglican Church. Upon returning to Estill from Galveston, Texas, she was employed by aeronautical manufacturer Altamill Tullahoma and remained with them through multiple transitions. Before leaving, what was then Cleveland Pneumatic, Flo had ascended to the position of Human Recourses Manager in a time (the late 70s) when women rarely became manufacturing managers. She loved cooking for family and church and watching football. She was known for having a strong constitution as well as a positive outlook. Flo was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and Floyd Ingleburger; and sister, Bertha Orr. She is survived by her son, Cary “Mac” McCurry; brother, James Thomas “Boots” Ingleburger; granddaughters, Macy Gibson (Robert) and Sarah Harwell (Chris); and great-grandsons, Robert “Ivey” and Charles Turner Gibson and Judd and Gus Harwell. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26 th , 2022 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00pm with a memorial service to immediately follow. Betty Hale Price

Betty Hale Price , 89, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2022. Betty was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, daughter, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Betty was a devout Christian and is now with our Savior, Jesus Christ, the knowledge of which is a great comfort to those who loved her. Betty was born and raised in Tullahoma, graduating from Tullahoma High School in 1950. She went on to attend Middle Tennessee State College and graduated with a bachelor of education and a minor in math in 1954. After graduating from college, she became an engineering aid at Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) where she used her math skills. Not only was this a job that Betty really enjoyed but it also opened the door for her to meet Billy Price, her future husband. She continued to work at AEDC after they married and stayed there until her first child was born. After leaving AEDC, Betty remained busy raising her children and managing the household. During this time, the Superintendent of Tullahoma City Schools, who was Betty’s principal in high school and who always admired her intelligence, became aware of a position at Jack T. Farrar Elementary School. He immediately thought of Betty and recommended her for the job of substitute reading teacher, which eventually turned into a full-time career. While continuing to teach, Betty returned to Middle Tennessee State University in the early 1980’s (which had changed status to University) and she obtained her Master’s Degree in Education. Betty retired from teaching after a 20-year career. After retirement, Betty was not one to sit idle. She was a long-time, active member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma and served on many committees throughout the years. Betty continued to use her teaching and reading instruction skills as a Sunday School teacher. She also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) for over ten years. Betty loved being a part of First Baptist, and was always a volunteer during the Living Nativity, which was held every Christmas. Betty had many talents, including painting and writing poetry. She wrote poems for friends to celebrate their retirements from the school and church. Her most well-known poem was written for Tullahoma’s Sesquicentennial. “In Praise of Tullahoma” a history of Tullahoma in verse, was published and included in a buried time capsule in honor of the 150-year celebration. Betty and Bill enjoyed many adventures around the world. One of her favorite trips was to Israel with other members of First Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Billy Price, her son and daughter in law, Mark Price and Alexis Kelley of Norcross, GA, and daughter, Kerri Price, of Tullahoma. She was proceeded in death by daughter, Vicki Fay Price, her parents, William C. Hale and Auda Fay Hale, brothers Clark Hale and Dennis Hale. The visitation and funeral will be held at Kilgore Funeral Home in Tullahoma on Monday, February 21 st , with visitation from 12:00-2:00pm and the funeral at 2:00. Brother Herb Hester will officiate the service and interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Ronald William Geary

Geary, Ronald William , of Murfreesboro, passed this life on Monday, January 17 th , 2022 at his home at the age of 77. Mr. Geary was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Al Ray Geary and Mildred Morgan Geary. During his life he worked as a general supervisor in the Electro-Motive Division at GM and was a member of Normandy Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Geary was preceded in death by one brother, Alan Geary, and one sister, Judith Cummings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma Thompson Geary; one son, Scott William Geary and his wife Doris; one daughter, Ronda Mathes and her husband Paul; and one grandson, Zachary Gorz and his wife Amelia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26 th , 2022 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 11:00am-12:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 12:00pm with Matthew Nash officiating. Gary Michael “Mike” Beck

Beck, Gary Michael “Mike” , of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, February 14 th , 2022 at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital at the age of 70. Mr. Beck was born in Tullahoma to the late Leon and Mildred Smith Beck. He served his country proudly during Vietnam in the United States Air Force and later in the National Guard. Mr. Beck also worked as a machinist for ATA and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by one son, Marc Beck; one sister, Ruth Ann Whitney; and one brother, Robert “Bobby” Beck. Mr. Beck is survived by his wife, Sherry Beck; and one son, Gary Michael Beck II. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19 th , 2022 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 11:00am-1:00pm with the funeral to immediately follow with Don Dixon officiating. Emma Gean Broadrick

Broadrick, Emma Gean , of Christiana, formerly of Tullahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, February 15 th , 2022 at her home at the age of 85. Mrs. Broadrick was born in Tullahoma to the late Cecil and Pauline Frye Roulette and was a member of Millersburg Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Broadrick was preceded in death by her husband, David Broadrick; parents, Cecil Roulette and Pauline Finchum; and one sister, Vivian Shumake. She is survived by two daughters, Kay (Jerry) Arnold, and Freda (Frank) Alsup; two sons, Jimmy (Donna) Winton, and Phillip (Kelley) Winton; two sisters, Marie Southern and Charlotte (Al) Campbell; grandchildren, Jeremy (Mandy) Holt, James (Anna) Winton, Jennifer Towry, Alisha Arnold, Adam Alsup, J. Rod (Jenny) Arnold, Rance Frazier, Ashley (Daniel) Drye, and Kyle Winton; and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 20 th , 2022 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 11:00am-2:00pm with the funeral to immediately follow with Bro. Tony Smith officiating. George D McDaniel

George D McDaniel of Shelbyville passed this life on Sunday, February 13,
2022 at Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Center in Winchester at the age
of 78. No services are scheduled.

A native of Tullahoma, he was the son of the late David and Christine
Carpenter McDaniel. He enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and visiting with
friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, George
McDonald Jr; brother, James McDaniel and sister, Donna Fay McKinnon.

He is survived by three children; brother, Donald McDaniel (Tina) of
Shelbyville and sister, Charlotte Carson (Larry) of Lynchburg.
