9/19/18 — Wanda Smith-Patillo

WANDA JANE SMITH-PATTILLO, age 67, of Tullahoma, Tenn., formerly of Franklin County, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at her residence with her loving and devoted children at her side, losing her long battle with cancer. She was born in Winchester, Tenn., to Rev. Leo C. Smith, Sr., and the late Ruthie Jane Clark Smith, on April 6, 1951. She was a member of the Lexie Crossroads Baptist Church in Belvidere. Ms. Smith-Pattillo was employed as a General Manager at Hardee’s in Tullahoma for almost 20 years. She loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed canning, gardening and watching her hummingbirds, at one time she had over two hundred that showed up at her feeder. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter.

In addition to her mother, she was preceeded in death by her brother, Tim Smith, Sr. and sister, Brenda Porter. She is survived by her son, Phillip Pattillo and wife, Christina of Manchester. daughters; Laura Anderson and Earl Morse of Decherd, Tenn., Denise Maddox of Tullahoma, Ginger Pattillo of Estill Springs, Mindy Oakes and husband, Travis of Tullahoma. Grandchildren; Brandon, Aaron, Dylan and Lexxie Anderson, Callie Morse and Gracie Morse, Christopher and Jonathon Maddox, Makenzye Selsor, Kaleb, Kody and Kane Jackson, Jeanna, Kelzley and Chace Pattillo, Stephan Orr, Devan, Cleveland and Felicity Cyree, Blake Oakes, Great-granddaughter, Novah Jackson.

Services for Ms. Smith-Pattillo will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Tim Forsythe, officiating. Interment will be in the Rice Cemetery in Skyline, Ala., with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

9/19/18–Russell Thomas Bryan

Manchester, Tennessee – Mr. Russell Thomas Bryan, 79, passed away,
Saturday, September 15, 2018 at home with his family. He was born in
Hillsboro, Tennessee on November 23, 1938 to Lloyd Buford Bryan and Hazel
Pearl Thomas Bryan who preceded him in death along with his brothers, James
Robert, Eugene and Rogers Bryan.

He was a member of the Forest Mill Church of Christ and a US Army veteran.
He had served as a Alderman (2012 – 2016) for the city of Manchester and
served on the Manchester City Water Board for 20 years. He was retired
from AEDC.

He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Ring Bryan; daughter, Sheila (Ty)
Proffitt; son, Russ (Rachael) Bryan; brother, Doug (Linda) Bryan; sisters,
Jane Chambers, Betty (James) Wilhelm and Brenda (Duffy) Cribbs;
grandchildren, Hayden and Elizabeth Proffitt and Jonathan and Kate Bryan;
several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday in the Central Funeral
Home Chapel with Ministers, Mike Lewis and Ralph Hart officiating along
with Military Honors with burial to Follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Central Funeral Home, Manchester,

Mill Church of Christ for the One Day of Hope program that provides coats

9/19/18–Violet Helen Beard

Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Helen Beard, age 101, of Manchester will be conducted on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Mrs. Beard passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Unity Medical Center.
Violet was born on May 17, 1917 in Nashville to the late Van and Daisy Carroll. She was a beautician and owned her own beauty shop for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and selling her pies, loved to shop, and paint.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Beard Sr; two brothers; James Bud Carroll, and Leon Carroll. She is survived by one son; Robert Beard Jr. (Carolyn); one daughter, Mary Joyce Tibbs (Larry); five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

9/17/18 — Harold Clifton Cotten

Mr. Harold Clifton Cotten, 87, passed away,
Friday September 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Rock Island,
Tennessee on September 19, 1930 to Charles B. and Mary Lou Womack Cotten
who preceded him in death along with his infant son, Harold Keith Cotten;
sisters, Bonnie Underwood, Irene Smith and Annell Certain; brothers,
Merrell, Charles, Reed and Gene Cotten.

He was retired from AEDC. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post
78, Highland Lodge # 214 F & AM, York Rite and the Al Menah Shrine
Temple. He
was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force
serving in the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Teresa Holton Cotten; son, Robert
Wayne (Sandra) Cotten; daughter, Donna Teresa Neel; grandchildren, Leslie
(Baxter) White, Lora (Brandon) Selvog, Nikki, Natalie and Jathan Neel;
step-grandchildren, Christy (Wesley) Harris and Chuck (Jadea) Neel; 10
great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday in the Central Funeral Home
Chapel with Ministers, Kerry Walker and Bro. Jerry Pullum officiating along
with a Masonic Service and Military Honors. Burial will be in Rose Hill
Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday and 1:00 PM –
3:00

Christina Warren Croft

Christina Warren Croft, age 45, of Estill Springs, Tn died Friday, September 14, 2018.
No services are planned.
A native of Marietta Georgia, she was the daughter of Larry Warren, Sr. and Partricia Elliott Ketchersid who survive. Mrs. Croft loved her family and dogs, enjoyed television and facebook. Her favorite colors were pink and black.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Croft is survived by her husband, Robert, son: Dakota Thompson, daughter: Tela Warren, sisters, Crystal Brown, and Michelle Wilson, brothers:
Larry Randall Warren, Jr. and Steven Guess and grandchildren: Karson Thompson, and Paiyten Thompson.

9/18/18 — Steven Mark Shanes

Steven Mark Shanes, age 62, of Shelbyville, Tn died Friday, September 14, 2018 at St. Thomas Hospital West.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock at Liggett Andrews Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN. The family will receive friends at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5 until 8 PM.
A native of Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late Elmer Russell and Frances Johnson Shanes. Mr. Shanes was a construction worker who loved the outdoors, fishing and especially loved his grandchildren.
Mr. Shanes is survived by his son, Steven Marks Shanes, Jr. and wife, Kayla, brothers: Paul Lee Shanes and Richie East, sister: Pam Burton, grandchildren: Steven Mark Shanes, III and Devin and Darrin Bass and best: friend Carl Poarch.

Funeral services for Mrs. Delilah Faye Lemons, age 68, of Manchester, will be conducted on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Tyler Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Mrs. Lemons passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Unity Medical Center.
Delilah was born on June 21, 1950 in Warren County to the late Doyle and Lennie Prater. She was a member of Highway 53 Non-Denomination Church. Mrs. Lemons enjoyed reading, sitting outside on her front porch, and loved flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ruth Prater; one brother, Doyle Prater, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Hubert Lemons; two sons, Lincoln Lemons (Candie) and Allen Lemons (Kellie); one daughter, Delilah Davis (William); two sisters, Linda Thornton and Betty McCarver; one aunt, Darlene Basham; 11 grandchildren, Makenzie, Logan, Katlyn, Alivia, Brooklyn, Elizabeth, Alexandria, Karyn, Alissa, Lincoln Jr., Keylei; three great grandchildren, Lily, Heaven, and Konnor; niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, great uncles, and a host of cousins and friends.

9/18/18–Ed Kimmons

Ed Kimmons of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, September 13, 2018
at his residence at the age of 86. Funeral services will be conducted
Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with
burial to follow at Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville. Visitation with
the family will be from 11 AM until the service time.

A native of Hohenwald, Tennessee he was the son of the late William Neal
and Violet Brewer Kimmons. He was a U S Air Force veteran, serving during
the Korean War. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Flat Creek
and enjoyed fishing, telling stories and being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Carolyn Dee
Kimmons; brother, Doris Ray Kimmons and sister, Lois Curtis.

Mr. Kimmons is survived by sons, Eddie Kimmons and his wife, Judy of
Tullahoma, Troy Kimmons of Shelbyville and Tracy Lee of Lewisburg;
daughters, Anita Sue Hale of Shelbyville, Mary Thelma Young of Murfreesboro
and Kim Crosslin of Tullahoma; sister, May Smith of Shelbyville; fourteen
grandchildren and multiple step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

9/17/18–Robert Addington

of Manchester, passed this life on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at his residence at the age of 75. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11 AM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial
Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 16th from 5 to 8 PM Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
A native of Raus, Tennessee he was the son of the late Dewey Addington and Ethel Sons Addington Tyler. He was a member of Tennessee Valley Woodworks Association and retired from Caterpillar Corporation after 42 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepfather, Harrison Tyler; one son, Steven Addington and sister, Joyce Bates.
Robert is survived by his wife, Marsha Addington of Manchester; sons, Mike Addington and wife Patricia of Tullahoma and Mark Addington and wife Natalie of Fredericktown, OH; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Addington of Parker, CO., Michael Addington of Milliken, CO., Megan Addington of Wallingford, CT., Willow Addington of Fredericktown, OH., Jennifer Calcagno of Tullahoma, TN., Rick Alvarado of Jupiter, FL. and Jimmy Alvarado of Chicago, IL. and 8 great grandchildren plus one on the way.

9/16/18–J.C. Laxson

Funeral services for Mr. J.C. Laxson, age 94, of Manchester, will be conducted on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Manchester Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Lusk and Rachel Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Summitville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 11:00 until service time. Mr. Laxson passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

J.C. was born on June 26, 1924 to the late J.C. Laxson Sr. and Mabel Laxson. He retired from Sain Construction after 20 years as a superintendent. He also was a US Navy Veteran serving our country in World War II. Mr. Laxson was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Morrison where he completed several ministry projects using his carpentry skills. He enjoyed farming and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Vera Laxson; one son, Andy Laxson; four brothers, Bill Laxson, Dan Laxson, John Laxson, and Gwen “Red” Laxson; one sister, Jessie Bell Kelley; one granddaughter, Rachel Kennedy. He is survived by his children, Ann Pelham (Mike), Elizabeth Faye Laxson Prater (Gary), Amos Laxson (Sheila), Connie Heatherly (Rusty); one brother, Charles Josh Laxson; 10 grandchildren, Lynn Myers (Mark), Jason Laxson (Tiffany), Becky Shelton (Glenn), Matthew Pelham (Danielle), David Kennedy (Lindsay), Charity Locke (Jason), Bethany Patterson (Scott), Hannah Osborne (Brandon), Catherine Heatherly, and Ryan Heatherly,; 21 great grandchildren, Sam Myers, Ben Myers, Lily Laxson, Andi Grace Laxson, Madison Hartwig, Megan Hartwig, Will Freeze, Kristen Shelton, Ali Shelton, Emily Shelton, Edith Pelham, Mabel Pelham, Louella Pelham, Ashlyn Grace Kennedy, Isaac Kennedy, Dustin Guy, Abby Guy, Colten Locke, and Caleigh Locke.
