10/16/18 — Rodney Dean Flippo
Rodney Dean Flippo of Kingston Springs, TN passed this life on Thursday,
October 11, 2018 at his residence at the age of 50. Funeral services are
scheduled for Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 6 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 4 PM.
A native of Tullahoma, Rodney was a drummer and loved going to Tims Ford
Lake to fish and water ski.
Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Craig Flippo.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra Flippo of Tullahoma; father and
step-mother, Fred and Debbie Flippo of Shelbyville; brothers, Rickey Flippo
and his wife, Dee of Petersburg and Randy Flippo and his wife, Judy of
Elizabethtown, KY and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

10/15/18 — Vivian Lee Shepherd Bankston
VIVIAN LEE SHEPHERD BANKSTON, age 63, of Manchester, Tenn., departed this life on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the home of her son, surrounded by her loving and devoted family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Bankston was born on August 10, 1955, to the late Edward Freeman Shepherd and Erma Faye Berry Shepherd She was a woman of great faith. She was a homemaker and caregiver. Mrs. Bankston loved music, singing and playing the piano. She loved being a grandmother most of all. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Bankston of Cleveland, Tenn., children; Roy Wood and wife, Amanda of Hillsboro, Joshua Wood and wife, Samantha of Boaz, Ala., Melody Perkins and husband Philip of Attalla, Ala., Jonathan Wood of Decherd, Tenn., and chosen daughter, Casey Moss of New Market, Ala. 11-grandchildren and 1-great-grandchild. 5-brothers and 2-sisters.
A private visitation for family will be held for Mrs. Bankston on Saturday evening Oct. 13, from 6:00-9:00 P.M at the Community Refuge Ministry in Pelham, Tenn.,
A visitation is scheduled for Sunday October 14, from 11:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. for friends and family at the Community Refuge Ministry in Pelham, Tenn.,
Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 15, at the Community Refuge Ministry in Pelham, Tenn. with Pastor Roy Wood, officiating.
Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. in the Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in High Point, Ala.

10/20/18 — Nancy J. Hemphill
NANCY J. HEMPHILL, age 67 of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at The Waters at Winchester following an extended illness. Mrs. Hemphill was born in Jasper, Ala. on January 13, 1951, to the late Coleman Winston O’Neal and Emma Louise Cross O’Neal. She was a member of the Decherd United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hemphill was a music teacher at the Walton Middle School in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., She also taught at several private schools and was employed at the Baptist Association in the Music Dept. in Fla., She was an officer in the Salvation Army at Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Activities Director at Gulf Coast Convalescent Home. Mrs. Hemphill was Grand Musician for the Order of the Amaranth, Inc. two years, Worthy Matron of the Order of the Amaranth, Inc. two times and Past Worthy Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star, Winchester Chapter 186.
Mrs. Hemphill was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Charles Hemphill of Winchester, Tenn., Daughter, Jenifer Howland and husband, Gerald of Manchester, son, Daniel Brannon of Freeport, Fla., Grandchildren; Bradley Brannon of Ill., EmaLae Howland of Chattanooga, Tenn., Coleman Charles Howland of Manchester, Sisters; Martha Turner of Goodwater, Ala., Arlene Castleberry, Manchester. Brothers; Bill Pruden of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Martin O’Neal of Sylacauga, Ala., Thomas O’Neal of Elijay, Ga.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 20, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor David Rash and Rev. and Mrs. Bratton and Faye Tucker, officiating. Visitation with the family is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. prior to the service on Saturday at 2:00.

10/15/18 — Bobby Edward Hasty
BOBBY EDWARD HASTY, age 83, departed this life on October 13, 2018, at the Willows of Winchester following an extended illness. Mr. Hasty was born on June 29, 1935, in Fayetteville, Tenn., to the late James Presley Hasty and Grace Kerbo Hasty. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Hasty is a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Song Leader for many years. He was employed for several years as a heavy equipment operator when he was discharged from the military. He then was employed at Hammer’s Dept. Store for 50 years as a truck driver until his retirement. Mr. Hasty could “fix anything”. He and his wife, Betty traveled all 50 states during their 57 years of marriage. He will always be remembered for his friendly smile and missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hasty was preceded in death by his siblings; Walter Hasty and Estella Marr. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hasty of Estill Springs, daughters; Teresa Hobbs and husband, Mark of Lebanon, Tenn., and Lisa Fitzgerald and husband, John of Tullahoma, Tenn., 4-grandchildren; Nathan (Sara) Ragland of Mesa, Arizona, Tiffany (Darin) Koelliker of Lebanon, Tenn., Andrew (Emily) Ragland of Winchester and Kayla Morgan of Lebanon, Tenn., 11-great-grandchildren, Ethan Morgan, Brayden Koelliker, Camryn Ragland, Natalie Ragland, Khloe Morgan, Kinlee Morgan, Eli Ragland, Peyton Ragland, Parker Ragland, Greyson Koelliker and AJ Ragland. A special nephew, Jimmy Ray Marr and his best buddy, Mitsy.
Visitation for Mr. Hasty will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday evening, October 15, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. John Gipson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Estill Springs with military honors bestowed.

Manchester, Tennessee – Mrs. Rebecca Ann “Becky” Jones, 57, passed away
Thurday October 11, 2018 at her home with her family at her bedside. She
was born in Manchester on January 30, 1961. She was preceded in death by
her father, Ernest Stonewall Harvey.
She was a founding member of the Boynton Valley Baptist Church. She was
also a member of Woodmen of the World.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Wayne Jones; mother, Lillie Harrell
Harvey; sons, Jason (Bridgett) Jones, Joshua Jones and Jonathan (Kattie)
Jones; sisters, Charlotte (Gale) Stacy, Mary (Ricky) Whitney and Polly
(Ricky) Brown; 5 grandchildren; 3 at heart grandchildren; several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday in the Central Funeral Home Chapel
with Minister Earl Carrington officiating with burial to follow in the

10/17/18 — Howard Don Buckner
Howard Don Buckner of Monteagle, passed this life at his residence at the
age of 79. Graveside Services are scheduled on Wednesday, October 17, 2018
at 2 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
A native of Manchester, he was the son of the late Clayton and Rosetta
Lindsey Buckner. He was a U S Air Force veteran and was a member of the
Monteagle Seventh-day Adventist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and
collecting coins. His favorite activity was learning and talking about the
Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Buford
and Calvin Buckner and sisters, Wanda Lee Salisbury and Kathy Buckner.
He is survived by son, Tony Buckner of Manchester; daughters, Karen Tyler
and her husband, JR of Tullahoma and Lynda Messick of Tullahoma; brother,
Jimmy Buckner and his wife, Joanne of Manchester; sisters, Stella Gilliam
of Murfreesboro, Nina Cravens and her husband, Jeff of Hillsboro and Sandra
Williams and her husband, Clyde of Manchester; grandchildren, Charity,

Vivian Ann Rutledge of Manchester, passed this life on Tuesday, October 10,
2018 at her residence at the age of 51. Funeral Services are scheduled for
5 PM Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home. Visitation
with the family will begin at 2 PM. Burial will be Monday, October 15, 2018
at 11:00 AM at Hensley Cemetery, Gainsboro, Tennessee.
A native of Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Ronnie and Annie
Floyd Rutledge. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in
death by husband, Bobby Bull.
Mrs. Rutledge enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, friends and
family. She also enjoyed fishing and kayaking.
She is survived by daughters, Candice Adams and husband Matt of
Nolensville, Amber Campbell of Lewisburg; son, Tony Syler of Manchester;
sisters, Audrey Rutledge and Amanda Rutledge and her husband, Ernest Sutton,
both of Shelbyville; six grandchildren, AJ, Noah, Raven, Wyatt, Nevaeh and

Mrs. Sally Ann Dodge, 75, passed away, Wednesday
October 10, 2018 at Unity Hospital in Manchester. She was born in Geneva,
Ohio on August 13, 1943 to Don King and Rita Giddons Stacey who preceded
her in death along with her husband, Richard A. Dodge; daughter, Carol Cox;
grandson, Kevin Cox; great-granddaughter, Savannah Freeze.
She is survived by her son, Lonnie (Rose) Dodge Sr.; daugher, Tina Dodge
both of Manchester; sister, Donna Thompson, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 22,
great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Joseph A Patrick of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, October 10,
2018 at his residence at the age of 73. No services are scheduled.
A native of Ringgold, GA, he was the son of the late Richard A Patrick and
the late Bettye Stanley Guffey. He enjoyed “tinkering” with electronics
and computers. He also enjoyed watching Science Fiction movies and
listening to music. When he became confined to his electric wheel chair,
he enjoyed riding around outside.
He is survived by half brother, Larry Guffey of Harrison, TN and caregiver,
Rosa Nunley of Franklin County.
